MILLER
John S. "Jack" Miller, 68, of Delphos, died at 4:40 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2004, at Van Wert Manor nursing home in Van Wert.
He was born July 21, 1935, in Urbana, the son of the late Harry and Margaret (McNab) Miller.
Mr. Miller was a tool-and-die maker in Toledo. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Episcopal Church in Urbana.
Survivors include a son, Robert "Greg" Miller of Delphos; three daughters, Jennifer Miller of Delphos and Karen (Charles "Ed") Sellers and Kim (James) Minnig, both of Fort Jennings; two brothers, Jeff (Mary) Miller of Delphos and Thomas Miller of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren, Edward J. Sellers, Stephen Sellers, John Miller, Michelle Minnig and Nichole Minnig, and a great-grandson, Kaden Sellers.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Nora Jaffe.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 24, at Westside Cemetery in Delphos, the Rev. David Howell officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
CLOUSE
Neva D. Clouse, 96, of Rockford, died Friday, May 21, 2004, at Maplewood of Shane's Village in Rockford.
She was born January 10, 1908, the daughter of Emmanuel O. and Alta May (Allison) Stetler. On March 22, 1930, she married Edgar Clouse, who preceded her in death on November 15, 1968.
Mrs. Clouse was a homemaker and a member of Zion United Brethren Church in Willshire. She also served many years on the Mercer County Board of Elections.
Survivors include four sons, Bill (Sharon) Clouse and Tom (Nancy) Clouse, both of Rockford, Jack (Gloria) Clouse of Celina and Jon (Betty) Clouse of Coldwater; two daughters, Sally (Paul) Wehr of Maitland, Fla., and Peggy (Sheldon) Betterly of Nokesville, Va.; a brother, LaVerne Stetler of Willshire; 18 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Lowell, Basil and Kermit Stetler, and a sister, Florice Stetler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Jodi Harr and Pastor Mark Rutledge officiating. Burial will be in Willshire Cemetery.
Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 24, and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Brethren Church in Willshire.
REDMAN
Shirley Deloris Redman, 76, of Columbia City, Ind., died at 5:52 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2004, at her home.
She was born June 3, 1927, in Warsaw, Ind., the daughter of the late Jacob Gerald and Bessie Zuella (Hammond) Marrs. On June 21, 1947, in Columbia City, she married Gerald Eugene "Pete" Redman, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Redman had worked at Grant's Dental Office in Columbus City for 12 years and was a bookkeeper for the family business, Redman Plumbing & Heating, until 1982. She graduated from Larwill High School in 1945 and was a 50-year-plus member of Grace Lutheran Church, and belonged to the Whitley County (Ind.) Humane Society, Whitley County Red Cross Bloodmobile and the Lady Elks, all of Columbia City. She was raised on a farm in Larwell, Ind., and moved at the age of 19 to Columbia City and spend the rest of her life there. She was an avid gardener and was fondly known throughout the community as "the cookie lady."
Survivors include two daughters, Angela Maree (Todd) Owen of Albion, Ind., and Shelley (Don) Adam of Van Wert; a brother, Sheldon (Mary) Marrs of Lebanon, Ind., and two granddaughters.
Private family funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with the Rev. Dr. C. James Cress of Grace Lutheran Church officiating.
Calling hours are 2-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church Food Pantry or the Whitley County Humane Society.
JONES
Eris L. Jones, 73, of Gomer, died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2004, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 26, 1930, in Delphos, the daughter of the late Harry L. and Zelma (Lutz) Patton. On November 26, 1947, she married Robert D. Jones, who survives in Gomer.
Mrs. Jones was retired from The Commercial Bank (Delphos and Gomer branches), where she worked as a teller. Earlier she had sold Avon products and Tupperware. She was a member of Gomer United Church of Christ and had attended Delphos Jefferson schools before graduating from Gomer High School. She was very generous and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Gary (Nancy) Jones of Fort Jennings; two daughters, Pam Holden of Lima and Judy (Kevin) Webb of Sylvania; two sisters, Mary Ann Dunlap of Delphos and Maxine Custer of Lima; two brothers, George (Dottie) Patton of Delphos and Lloyd Patton of Lima; six grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by an infant son.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos, the Rev. Brian A. Knoderer officiating. Burial will be in Pike Run Cemetery in Gomer.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, at the funeral home.

BROWN
Edsel W. "Ed" Brown, 73, of Van Wert, died at 8:55 a.m. Sunday, May 16, 2004, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne., Ind.
He was born March 8, 1931, in Ohio City, the son of the late Don S. and Vera G. (Hoffman) Brown. On March 3, 1952, he married Barbara J. Baxter, who survives at home.
Mr. Brown worked at General Electric Corp. in Decatur, Ind., for 40 years, retiring in 1989. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Van Wert and was a member of American Legion Post 178 in Van Wert. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David W. (Rhoda E.) Brown of Avon, Ind., and Gregory L. (Lynn K.) Brown of Tallahassee, Fla.; a brother, Ronald (Marcia) Brown of Huntington, Ind.; one sister, Donna (Harlan) Kaiser of Van Wert, and two grandchildren, Brooke E. Brown and Whitney L. Brown.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 21, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Timothy Burden and Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, with military graveside rites performed by the combined honor guards of Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the funeral home.

TREECE
Maxine R. Treece, 79, of Van Wert, died at 3 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born December 14, 1929, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Ervin and Cladah (Powell) Reid. On September, 22, 1946, she married William C. "Bill" Treece, who died May 29, 1987.
Mrs. Treece was a homemaker and a 1942 graduate of Grover Hill High School.
Survivors include a son, Steven (Dianne) Treece of Van Wert; one daughter, Julie (Rick) Morris of Van Wert; three grandchildren, Troy (Leah) Treece, Mollie Morris and Steven Morris, and a great-grandson, Owen Treece.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 28, at the funeral home.

LAUKHUF
Kenneth Melvin Laukhuf, 85, of Haviland, died at 11:40 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born November 13, 1918, in Benton Township, Paulding County, the son of the late August and Rosa (Pflederer) Laukhuf. On November 20, 1941, he married Marjorie H. Graf, who died December 29, 2003.
Mr. Laukhuf was a retired farmer and a member of Latty Apostolic Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Laukhuf and Bruce (Vickie) Laukhuf, both of Haviland; two daughters, Carol (Ron) Koehl of Nokomis, Fla., and Valerie (Mike) Klima of Columbus Grove; a sister, Mildred Hartsler of Smithville; 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Martha Dotterer Laukhuf; four brothers, Merrill, Richard, Alvin and Oscar Laukhuf, and four sisters, Marie Stoller, Anna Stoller, Hilda Wenninger and Eunice Laukhuf.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Latty Apostolic Church, with church clergymen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at DenHerder Funeral Home in Paulding and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
