FYFFE
Linda Lou Fyffe, 52, of 803 Elm St. and formerly of Forest Hill, Calif., died at 5:17 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2002, at her residence.
She was born January 22, 1950, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of Betty (Purk) Brown and the late Robert Thimler. She married Larry Fyffe, who survives in Forest Hill.
Mrs. Fyffe was a homemaker.
Survivors in addition to her mother and husband include a stepfather, Eugene W. Brown of Van Wert; two daughters, Robin Renee Thomas of Van Wert, and Eve Rachel Siler, whereabouts unknown; a brother, Jeff (Kathy) Keller of Van Wert; one sister, Robin R. (Greg) Pruett of Ohio City; two stepbrothers, Arnold (Cheryl) Brown of Grover Hill and Troy Brown of Fort Wayne, and two stepsisters, Kelly (Tony) Brown of Middle Point and Lisha Showalter of Grover Hill.
She was preceded in death by her adoptive father, John W. Keller, and a sister, Karen Strahm.
Private funeral services for the family will be conducted, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
There will be no calling hours.
Funeral arrangements were made by Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert.
YOCUM
George J. Yocum, 84, of Mendon, died Friday, September 27, 2002, at Van Wert County Hospital, where he had been a patient since Tuesday.
He was born November 30, 1917, in Rockford, the son of the late Merl and Hazel (Stover) Yocum. He married Donna Marie Anderson, who preceded him in death on November 11, 1988.
Mr. Yocum retired from Avco New Idea and was also a farmer. He was a member of the New Horizons Church in Rockford.
Survivors include three sons, Forest (Linda) Yocum of Canal Winchester, Gene (Angela) Yocum of Spencerville and Dean (Marilyn) Yocum of Marysville; two sisters, Doris Piper and Lucille Reed, both of Rockford, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded by a brother, Russell Yocum.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Christian Church of Rockford on Ohio 707, with the Rev. Kenneth Whetstone officiating. Burial will be in Stringtown Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford and an hour prior to services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Huntington College, Huntington, Ind., or to Camp Cotubic in Bellefontaine.
SCHNEIDER
Ruth Marie Schneider, 70, of Van Wert, died at 6:34 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2002, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born October 31, 1931, in Paulding, the daughter of the late Raymond and Hazel Marie (Copsey) Phlipot. She married Fred Schneider, who preceded her in death on December 16, 2001.
Mrs. Schneider was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert and its Altar Rosary Society. She was very active in the church and worked for many years for the St. Marys School bingo fundraisers. She also belonged to the Lincolnview Athletic Boosters.
Survivors include three daughters, Diana (James) Olrich of Deshler, Joan (Greg) Germann of Van Wert and Rose Marie (Danny) VanWynsberghe of Key West, Fla.; one son, Carl (Lisa) Schneider of Perrysburg; three brothers, Harold (Dorothy) Phlipot, Earl (Jeannie) Phlipot and Jerry (Margaret) Phlipot, all of Paulding; two sisters, Laura Pease of Paulding and Dorothy (Bill) Alt of Gahanna; two half-sisters, Helen Coil of Traverse City, Mich., and Christine (Roman) Laker of Cecil; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Phlipot of Paulding, and nine grandchildren. She is also survived by a number of children she babysat for and her Pomeranian, "Lady."
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Phlipot and an infant brother; a sister, Mabel Phlipot, and a half-brother, Lawrence Phlipot.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Father Joseph M. Schmelzer officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point.
Calling hours will be from 2-9 p.m. Monday at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, where a rosary service will be held at 8:45 that night.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church Endowment Fund and masses.

STEPHENSON
H. David Stephenson Jr., 55, of Middle Point, died at 3:51 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2002, at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born August 9, 1947, in Charlevoix, Mich., the son of Ruth (Slate) Stephenson and the late Harold D. Stephenson Sr.
Mr. Stephenson was a member of The Salvation Army in Van Wert, enjoyed gardening, lawnwork and loved nature.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, Harry (Chris) Stephenson of Middle Point; two nephews; two great-nephews, and a great-niece.
A celebration of life will be held at noon on Friday at the Salvation Army in Van Wert, with Captain Pat Ward officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army.

DUNLAP
Marylou Dunlap, 70, of 9434A John Brown Road, died at 12:05 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2002, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born February 23, 1932, in Celina, the daughter of the late William O. and Mary E. (Emans) Agler. On June 1, 1973, in Grover Hill, she married Robert W. Dunlap, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Dunlap was a homemaker and a member of The Salvation Army in Van Wert.
Survivors include two sons, Michael W. (Paula) Martz of Wolcottville, Ind., and Kevin M. (Tanya) Martz of Greensburg, Ind.; a daughter, Donella L. Cornelius of Van Wert; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a niece, Leanna Bell, and one nephew, David Agler.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Agler and Lynn Soul.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Capt. Pat Ward of The Salvation Army officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point.
Calling hours are 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

KENNEDY
Lenore A. Kennedy, 93, of 639 N. Washington St., died at 4 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2002, at Vancrest Health Care Center.
She was born October 23, 1908, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late William T. and Sylvia (Terry) Hoeken. In November 1929, she married Merl L. "Tim" Kennedy, who died August 14, 1984.
Mrs. Kennedy taught junior high school for nearly 30 years and was a longtime history teacher at what was then Lincoln Junior High School in Van Wert. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for more than 80 years and was active in the Van Wert County Historical Society for many years. She was a member of the Van Wert Woman's Club, a member of the Isaac Van Wart Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, had taught knitting to a local 4-H club for many years and was active in a number of other community organizations over the years.
Survivors include a son, Michael L. (Madeline) Kennedy of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a brother, William L. Hoeken of Van Wert; one grandson, Robert P. (Brenda) Kennedy of Bronson, Mich.; three great-grandchildren, Joshua (Rachel) Kennedy of Grand Rapids, Mich., Charity (Marko) Smith of Van Wert, and Lacy Kennedy of Van Wert, and two great-great-grandchildren, Gavin and Paige Smith of Van Wert.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Kennedy, who died in infancy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

BRENNER
Elsa Malkin Brenner, 71, the daughter of the late Morris and Sara (Magidson) Malkin, died Sunday, September 8, 2002, at Van Wert County Hospital.
A graduate of The Rayan School and Youngstown College, Mrs. Brenner was a registered medical technologist. She was a fine pianist and performed at the Butler Gallery of American Art, and at meetings of the Youngstown Monday Musical Society.
Mrs. Brenner is survived by her husband, Paul T. Brenner; her children, daughter Cheryl Torsney and husband Eric Hansmann of Morgantown, W.Va., and son Jeffrey Stambor and wife Lisa Shepard Stambor of Calistoga, Calif.; grandchildren Benjamin and Edward Torsney, both of Morgantown, and Kaela and Lucie Stambor, both of Calistoga; her beloved sister, Charlotte Malkin, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and stepchildren and stepgrandchildren from her current marriage.
A celebration of life will be held in the future.
