MEDAUGH
Arbutus Medaugh, 78, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and formerly of Van Wert, died at 10:20 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2005, at Hospice House North in East Cape Coral, Fla.
She was born April 3, 1927, in Breathitt County, Ky., and daughter of the late Quillen Gayheart and Fairlane (Stone) Gayheart Clemons. On June 19, 1946, she married Vernon L. Medaugh, who survives at their residence.
Mrs. Medaugh was a homemaker. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Lehigh Acres, an active member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and served as State of Ohio Department commander from 1963-64. She was also a national executive committeewoman. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and participated in Veterans Administration volunteer services for 10 years at the Fort Wayne, Ind., VA Hospital.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Linda Smith Dunno of Sullivan, Maine, and Deborah (Michael) Baumert of Payne; two half-brothers, Glynn (Sharon) Clemons of Michigan and Minor (Judy) Clemmons of Matthews, N.C.; two half-sisters, Bonnie (Norm) Phillips and Angline (Bill) Ralston, both of Kenton; four grandchildren, Jason Smith, Bryce Smith, Cory Baumert and Derek Baumert, and two great-grandchildren, Sydney Lorraine and Michael Hunter Smith.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Green Clemmons, and two brothers, Arthur Gayheart and Luther Gayheart.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 28, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Joe Allen of St. James Lutheran Church in Payne officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Viewing hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, at the funeral home.

PELTIER
Jean Gordon Peltier, 87, of Columbus and formerly of Delphos, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2005, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was born September 20, 1917, in Delphos, the son of the late Dorothy Peltier. He had married Edna Ayers, who also preceded him in death.
Mr. Peltier practiced law from 1948-51 and from 1954-62. He served as the director of the Ohio Department of Commerce during Gov. James A. Rhodes’ four terms in office. He graduated from Delphos Jefferson High School, Ohio State University and the OSU School of Law in 1947. He was an honorary life member of the Ohio Bar Association, a member of Maple Grove United Methodist Church in Columbus, the Society of the 1st Infantry Division, the Heritage Foundation, American Legion Post 0001 in Franklin and 40 et 8, and the 37th Division Veterans Association. He retired as a brigadier general of the Ohio National Guard (Army) and was a veteran of World War II and Korea, where he participated in eight battles and three assault landings. He served with the 1st Infantry Division (the Big Red One) throughout his military service and was decorated with the Legion of Merit, Silver Star, Bronze Star, EAME Medal, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Belgian Fouraguerre and French Fouraguerre. He was also inducted into the Ohio Military Hall of Fame. He was the OSU wrestling team captain in 1939 and a member of the OSU Varsity “O” Club and OSU Alumni Association.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth “Skip” (Vicki Lutz) Peltier of Hillard; one daughter, Barbara (Byron Sickman) Peltier of Vero Beach, Fla.; a granddaughter, Rebecca Peltier of Phoenix, Ariz., and her mother, Robyn Peltier of Powell.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Peltier, and one granddaughter, Brittany Peltier.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, at 6 p.m. at Maple Grove United Methodist Church in Columbus, with Rev. William E. Croy Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos, where a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 28, with military rites conducted by the Delphos Veterans Council.
Viewing hours will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

GONZALES
Nicolas G. Gonzales III, 7 months, died at 7:48 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2005, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born December 22, 2004, in Van Wert, the son of Nicolas G. Gonzales Jr. and Katlyn M. Moore, both of whom survive in Van Wert.
Other survivors include his maternal grandmothers, Sandy Moore and Iris Stemen, both of Middle Point; paternal grandparents Santiago and Paula Garcia of Van Wert; paternal grandmother, Maria Garcia; paternal great-grandparents, Charles and Ruth Coleman of Baltimore, Ohio, and Peter and Elizabeth Allen of Lancaster.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with the Rev. Cindy Lumm officiating.
Viewing hours will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.
FINEGAN
JoeAnn Finegan, 79, formerly of Van Wert and Fort Wayne, Ind., died at 7:10 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2005, at The Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
She was born April 8, 1926, in Latty, the daughter of the late Edward Finegan and Evah (Proxmire) Thurman. She was divorced.
Ms. Finegan was a former EEG technician and worked in other areas of the medical field in Fort Wayne. She was a professional model in her younger years and owned a modeling agency in Detroit, Mich. She attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. She was affiliated with the St. John’s Lutheran Hopewell Church in rural Celina and with the American Heart Association in Van Wert.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Erickson of Cantonment, Fla., and two grandsons, Blake Erickson of Cantonment and Brand Erickson, who is stationed at Misawa Air Force Base in Japan.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Johnston; two brothers, Paul O. Finegan and Gordon G. Finegan, and three sisters, Agnes Croy, Venice Grubaugh and Katherine Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Deborah Domeier and Pastor Randall Swanson officiating. Burial will be in Blue Creek Cemetery in Blue Creek Township in Paulding County.
Viewing hours are 5-8 p.m. Monday, August 1, at the funeral home.

CAMPBELL
Donna Mae Campbell, 66, of 3269 U.S. 224, Convoy, died at 3:10 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2005, at Van Wert Manor nursing home in Van Wert.
She was born February 12, 1939, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Hugh B. “Buck” and Mildred Pauline (Walters) Prichard. On December 26, 1956, she married Larry Ward Campbell, who died September 8, 1998.
Mrs. Campbell was a nurse’s aide at Van Wert Manor. She attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Van Wert and was a member of the Ladies of the Moose and American Legion Auxiliary in Van Wert.
Survivors include a son, Robert J. Campbell of Van Wert; two brothers, Richard L. (Joan) Prichard and Calvin E. Prichard, both of Van Wert; three sisters, Mary Lou (Morrie) Taylor of Ocklawaha, Fla., Patty (Gordon) Strickler of Escondido, Calif., and Candy Prichard of Fort Wayne, Ind.; four grandchildren, Joshua (Jessica) Campbell, Jonathan, Alisha and Angela Campbell; two great-grandchildren, Kassidy and Alexa, and many loving nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, at Cowan & Son Funeral home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Viewing hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at the funeral home.

PUTMAN
Beatrice Irene Putman, 84, of Rockford, died at 7:53 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2005, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert, where she had been a patient. She had been in failing health for the past five months.
She was born November 26, 1920, in Haviland, the daughter of the late Arthur R. and Daisy May (Imbody) McCoy. On May 12, 1941, she married Jacob C. Putman, who died September 28, 1989.
Mrs. Putman had lived in the area since coming from Haviland in 1957. She was a homemaker and farmer and had attended Mount Zion United Brethren Church.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis (Sharon) Putman of Findlay, Charles (Mary Lou) Putman of Westerville and David F. (Rita) Putman of Rockford; two daughters, Sheryl Smith of Elkhart, Ind., and Brenda (Alan) Case of Willshire; a sister, Bernice Garrett of Oxnard, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Moore; four brothers, Bud, Kenneth, Wayne and Jack McCoy, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 29, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Jody Harr officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Viewing hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 28, and an hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.

BOLLENBACHER
Harold J. Bollenbacher, 75, of Rockford, Ohio, died at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford, on Monday, July 4, 2005, at 2:50 p.m.
He was born November 15, 1929, in Adams County, Ind., to the late Harold A. and Martha (White) Bollenbacher. On February 10, 1951, he married Loella Friedly, who survives.
Mr. Bollenbacher was retired from Reynolds and Reynolds in Celina and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Rockford United Methodist Church, Rockford Lions Club, and Shanes Crossing Historical Club, Rockford.
Survivors include three daughters, Debra (Tom) Reichard of Fort Wayne, Ind., Peg Bollenbacher of Van Wert and Toni (Steve) Fisher of Rockford; two brothers, Robert and Tim Bollenbacher, both of Rockford; seven grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Randall, in infancy.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 8, at 11 a.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with the Rev. Mike Berne officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
Viewing hours are Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.
