SIDLE
Oswin C. “Carl” Sidle, 87, of Van Wert, died at 3:55 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2005, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
He was born February 18, 1918, in Van Wert County, the son of the late Lee C. and Grace (Mongold) Sidle. In March 1942, he married Pauline Thompson, who died March 18, 1994.
Mr. Sidle retired after 42 years of service with the Penn Central Railroad. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Van Wert.
Survivors include three sons, Loren (Linda) Sidle, Larry (Dorothy) Sidle and Donald (Cheryn) Sidle, all of Van Wert; three daughters, Kay (Terry) Ruble of Haviland, Janet Johnson of Montpelier and Nancy (Walter) Roehm of Rockford; a brother, Wayne (Carol) Sidle of Van Wert; one sister, Nelleta Reidenbach of Fort Wayne, Ind., and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lowell Sidle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 2, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Rev. Rick Adams and Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Viewing hours are 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 1, at the funeral home.

BAKER
Alta M. Baker, 97, formerly of Ohio City, died at 8:10 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2005, at Hearth & Home Assisted Living in Van Wert.
She was born December 21, 1908, in Paulding County, the daughter of the late Basil and Lettie M. (Hooker) Williamson. On December 23, 1925, she married Earl Edison Baker, who died December 22, 1971.
Mrs. Baker was a retired farm wife who loved to garden, sew and spend time with family. She was a member of Ohio City United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Bruce (Barbara) Baker, Tim (Jan) Baker and Darle (Linda) Baker, all of Ohio City; a son-in-law, Robert E. Laukhuf of Payne; two sisters, Ruth Sohn of Bryan and Frieda Gordon of Antwerp; 10 grandchildren, Gaye Myers, Gary Laukhuf, Joel Baker, Seth Baker, Aaron Baker, John Baker, Jane Cozad, Brian Baker, Brad Baker and Cindy Sinning, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Baker; one daughter, Iris E. Laukhuf (on July 2, 2000); four brothers, Frances, Clyde, Joseph and Ralph Williamson, and four sisters, Ethel Davis, Virgie Shimp, Edith Howell and Ruby Williamson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 3, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Michael Waldron officiating. Burial will be in Blue Creek Cemetery in Paulding County.
Viewing hours are 2-7 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at the funeral home.

LEGG
Paul W. “Bill” Legg, 77, of Deshler, died at 4:35 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2005, at The Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
He was born November 14, 1927, in Galena, the son of the late Harry Paul Legg and Nell Edith Glassburn. He married Genevieve L. Legg in 1990 and she also preceded him in death.
Mr. Legg retired after 39 years as an engineer at Excello in Lima. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fort Jennings. He was a graduate of Ohio State University in Columbus and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3035 in Delphos, the Fort Jennings American Legion post and a Moose lodge in Florida. He enjoyed bowling and other sports.
Survivors include three sons, Paul Legg Jr. of Celina, Ricky (Terry) Legg of Paulding and John Legg of New Haven, Ind.; two daughters, Vicky (Kenneth) Jones of Celina and Vivian (Duane) Jutte of Mendon; a brother, James Legg of Mount Vernon; one sister, Barbara Williams of Ashley; 15 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Nicki Allan Legg; one brother, Harold Legg, and a sister, Doris Price.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 27, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Jennings, with Father Tony Borgia officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Fort Jennings.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 3 that afternoon, and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the American Legion.
PESSEFALL
Clifton A. “Butch” Pessefall, 55, of Convoy, died at 11:40 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2005, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Marion, Ind.
He was born August 19, 1949, in Van Wert, the son of the late Clifford A. and Doris Irene (Hunter) Pessefall.
Mr. Pessefall had formerly worked at B.F. Goodrich in Woodburn, Ind. He also served in the U.S. Army during the early years of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include two sons, Christen Pessefall and Chad Pessefall, both of Ohio City; two daughters, Whitney Pessefall and Brittany Pessefall, both of Ohio City, and a brother, Clifford Pessefall of Kenton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honor guards of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803.
Calling hours are noon-3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

CLOUSE
Juanita R. Clouse, 80, of Orwell and formerly of Van Wert, died Monday evening, June 6, 2005, at Serenity Manor Nursing Home in Orwell.
She was born February7, 1925, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Elmer and Hazel (Melchi) Potter. She was married to Brooks Clouse, who preceded her in death in 1994.
Mrs. Clouse was a member of the Newton Falls Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed working crossword puzzles, walking and watching wrestling, horse racing and football.
Survivors include a daughter, Terri Smith of North Bloomfield; four sisters, Henrietta High, Katie Louth and Pat Boyd, all of Van Wert, and Betty Spahr of Michigan; two grandchildren, Sunshine Sullivan and James Smith, and two great-grandchildren, Adelaide and Canaan Sullivan.
She was preceded in death by five children, Brooksie D., Deborah, Brenda, Bobby and Robin Clouse, and two brothers, Elmer and Jim Potter.
Private family services will be held, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

COUTS
Martha Jeanne (Emans) Couts, 73, of Van Wert, died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at her son's residence.
She was born October 31, 1931, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Walter F. and Lottie (Agler) Emans.
Ms. Emans worked as a supervisor, operator and clerk at the Ohio Telephone Company. She was a member of Ohio City Church of God, was a former member of the Van Wert Board of Realtors, Van Wert Civic Theatre and a member of the Christian Songwriters and Writers Club.
Survivors include three sons, Bruce Courts of Van Wert, Terry (Diana) Couts of Celina and Larry Couts of Defiance; a daughter, Linda (Darrell) McGee of Celina; two sisters, Erline (Martin) Kilgore of Spring Arbor, Mich., and Amy Belle Roach of Coldwater, Mich.; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Katerine (Font) Couts; a brother-in-law, Floyd Roach, and one grandson, Matthew Couts.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 10, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Matthew Braun officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

RAMOS
Juanita Marie Ramos, 79, of 1248 Sunrise Court, Van Wert, died at 4:57 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born March 8, 1926, in Springfield, Ill., the daughter of the late Jesse and Julia (Morales) Perez. In 1947 she married Romulo Ramos, who preceded her in death in 1992.
Mrs. Ramos formerly worked at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert Manufacturing Company and the former Van Wert Holiday Inn.
Survivors include a son, Philip (Penny) Ramos of Van Wert; one daughter, Phyllis Dotson of Continental; two brothers, Paul Perez of Van Wert and Joe Perez of Los Angeles, Calif.; five sisters, Ruby Cuellar, Evelyn Perez and Patricia Robinson, all of Fort Wayne, Ind., Connie Granados of Whittier, Calif., and Alice Villagomes of Decatur, Ind.; 12 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Marie Zamarripa and another child who died in infancy; three brothers, Doe, Richard and Jessie Perez, and a sister, Carman Cota.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, June 10, at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with Bill Waston officiating.
