BROWN
Andrew Brown, 84, of Van Wert, died at 12:55 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at Hearth & Home Assisted Living in Van Wert.
He was born January 30, 1921, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late Andrew H. and Emily (Odiorne) Brown. On October 25, 1945, in Lyon, France, he married Josette M. Brown, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Brown was a telegraph operator for the former New York Central Railroad and then owned his own barbershop on East Main Street in Va Wert. He retired as an employee of Kennedy Manufacturing Company in Van Wert. He was a U.S. Army veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict, a life member of American Legion Post 178 in Van Wert and a member of the Van Wert Amateur Radio Club.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Daniel L. (Cheryl) Brown and Dennis Brown, both of Van Wert; a niece, Alice Flagg of Winthrop, Maine, ad a nephew Frank Lienthal of Jonesport, Maine.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Robert and William Brown, and a sister, Alice Lienthal.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Father Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, where military committal services will be performed by the combined honor units of Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Health Professionals-Hospice and the Alzheimer's Association.
Arrangements were made by Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.
BEST
Naomi M. Best, 96, of Bluffton and formerly of Delphos, died at 10:26 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Richland Manor in Bluffton.
She was born October 1, 1908, in Ohio City, the daughter of the late Louis and Frances (Crates) Krugh. On October 21, 1927, she married Cloyd Best, who died January 4, 1963.
Mrs. Best was a sander at Delphos Bending Company and retired in 1973 after 35 years of service. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Bogart of Bluffton; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mildred Kriegel; two brothers, Gene and Harold Krugh, and one sister, Charlotte Krugh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Delphos.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 that evening.

WIMMERS
Pauline Wimmers, 102, of Nokomis, Fla., and formerly of Fort Wayne, Ind., died Saturday evening, March 5, 2005, at Venice Regional Medical Center in Venice, Fla.
She was born January 18, 1903, in Harrison Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Fred and Clara (Pflueger) Myers. On June 2, 1923, she married Otto Wimmers, who died August 18, 1987.
Mrs. Wimmers retired from the General Electic Taylor Street Plant in Fort Wayne after more than 30 years of service.
Survivors include two sisters, Mildred Williamson of Nokomis and Louise Mason of Antigo, Wis., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Oscar Myers, and one sister, Emma Germann.
Private family graveside services will be conducted at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with the Rev. William Haggis II officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to Father Flannigan's Boys Town.

BRINKMAN
Rosalie K. Brinkman, 52, of Fort Jennings, died 8:05 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005, from injuries received in an auto accident.
She was born July 19, 1952, in Lima, the daughter of Lois (Saxton) Bullinger and the late Robert "Bob" Bullinger. On June 26, 1981, in Ottoville, she married Michael Brinkman, who survives in Fort Jennings.
Mrs. Brinkman worked at The Drapery Stitch for many years and also drove school bus for Ottoville Local Schools for 13 years. She worked at Jonashtons Machine Shop in Cloverdale. She took home health care classes and then worked for Delphos Visiting Nurses and also worked at Eaton Corporation in Van Wert. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville and the Knights of Columbus auxiliary and a graduate of Ottoville High School. She was a Lifeline tissue donor. She enjoyed crafts and craft shows, as well as board games and cards with her family on the weekends. She loved to care for other people and was the kind of person who put others before herself. She was a loving wife and a wonderful mother.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by a son, Perry Brinkman, at home; three daughters, Amy (Frank Bailey) Brinkman, Trish (Shane Moening) Brinkman and Miranda (Matt Lehmkuhle) Brinkman, all at home; one brother, Randy (Karen) Bullinger of Convoy; a brother-in-law, Frank (Cathy) Brinkman of Fort Jennings, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Rodney Bullinger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 10, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville, with Father Tony Borgia officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Ottoville.
Calling hours are 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, and 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

FOLEY
Ardeth V. Foley, 87, formerly of Ohio City, died at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005, in Ormond Beach, Fla.
She was born January 15, 1918, in Hoaglin Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Henry P. and Ollie (Hattery) Hyman. On July 9, 1939, she married William L. Foley, who died October 16, 2001.
Mrs. Foley retired in 1981 after 31 years at Montgomery Ward in the cash office. She was a member of the Quarter Horse Association of Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky and Illinois, the American Quarter Horse Association of Texas and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary in Ohio City.
Survivors include a son, Bill D. (Monique) Foley of Ormond Beach, Fla., and two grandsons, Michael of Atlanta, Ga., and Laurent of Brussels, Belgium.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Russel, Wilber, Joe and Kennth Hyman, and three sisters, Marcelle Cashel, E. Berdene Ray and Mary Florene Hyman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Calling hours are noon-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

KIRBY
Betty J. Kirby, 83, of 880 N. Washington St., Van Wert, died at 2:54 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005, at the residence of her daughter in Van Wert.
She was born August 3, 1921, in Bloomdale, the daughter of the late Alfred and Okla (Redman) Fulkerson. On July 26, 1945, she married the Rev. Adrian Kirby, who died October 25, 2002.
Mrs. Kirby was an occupational therapist at Orient Development Center. She was also a volunteer at Vancrest Health Care Center and a member of Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert.
Survivors include two sons, Keith (Dawn) Kirby of Orient and Kerry (Diane) Kirby of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Karen (Gary) Corcoran of Van Wert; two sisters, Phyllis Walters of Lima and Alice (Allen) McGillvary of Baltimore (Ohio); a daughter-in-law, Pam Mannering of Grove City; eight grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ken Kirby.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, April 4, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. W. Clark Williman officiating. Burial will be in Grove City Cemetery in Grove City, where a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 5.
Calling hours are noon-3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
WILLINGHAM
H. Dewayne Willingham, 63, of 4561 Werner Road, Convoy, died at 1:40 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
He was born August 26, 1941, in Tuscumbia, Ala., the son of Lenice (Carmack) Willingham, who survives in Tuscumbia, and the late J.T. Willingham. On August 6, 1960, he married Linda Jerwers, who also survives at home.
Mr. Willingham retired from B.F. Goodrich and was a self-employed contractor (carpenter-painter) for many years. He attended Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert.
In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kim (Craig) Shivley of rural Convoy; three brothers, Edward (Kay) Willingham of Van Wert, Jerry (Gayle) Willingham of Seattle, Wash., and Tom (Beverly) Willingham of Howell, Mich., and two grandchildren, Daniel Craig Shivley and Megan Rene Shivley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 4, at Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert, with Pastor Neil Hammons and Pastor John Perkins officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.
