LICHTLE
Myrna L. Lichtle, 85, of 806 S. Washington St., Van Wert, died at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
She was born June 15, 1919, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Henry L. and Jenny Pearl (Rager) Wendel. On May 30, 1942, she married Francis Charles Lichtle, who died September 30, 1992.
Mrs. Lichtle was a loving mother and housewife and formerly was a clerk at ASCS. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert.
Survivors include two sons, David F. Lichtle of Ohio City and Richard "Rick:" Lichtle of Pandora; a daughter, Cara Apperson of Van Wert; one brother, Henry (Margaret) Wendel of Coldwater, Mich.; four sisters-in-law, Sister Germaine Lichtle of Fond du La, Wis., and Agnes Lichtle and Catherine Kaehr, both of Decatur, Ind.; four grandchildren, Michael (Amanda) Lichtle, Michele Lichtle, Mark (Kristen) Lichtlead Brian Lichtle; one great-grandson, Nathan Michael Lichtle, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clayton, Gail and Ralph Wendel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Father Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.

JAMISON
Doyt F. Jamison, 93, of Delphos, died at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Lincolnway Home near Middle Point.
He was born April 5, 1911, in Washington Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Everett F. and Mary Anna (Heit) Jamison.
Prior to World War II, he worked as a mechanic at Raabe Ford in Delphos on Model A and Model T Fords. After the war, he worked on the farm, and also worked as a printer, farm hand, rabbit breeder and gardener. In addition, he cared for his invalid brother. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and was a private in the casual detachment Service Command Unit at Camp Cooke, Calif. He spent a year in the home guard in the western United States and was granted a medical discharge prior to his unit being sent overseas. He attended primary school at the Bockey School and secondary school in Middle Point. He was a member of Bethel United Brethren Church in Washington Township. He had lived at Lincolnway Home since June 1993. While there, he socialized with the other residents, participated in activities, especially Bingo, and enjoyed watching television.
Survivors include three nephews, Roger Crowe of Delphos, Kenneth (Patricia) Dempsey of Sparks, Nev., and Jack (Becky) Dempsey of Nice, Calif.; two nieces, Mary (Jeff) Miller of Delphos, and Kathy (Gene) Richardson of Nice, Calif.;cousins Doris Markley of Van Wert, Marilyn Oglesbee of Jackson, Mich., and Robert Miller of Delphos, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be in King Cemetery in Middle Point, with military graveside rites conducted by the Delphos Veterans Council.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 1, at the funeral home.

FISHER
Marguerite M. "Sammie" Fisher, 62, of Delphos, died at 10:05 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Lima Manor Nursing Home in Lima.
She was born August 3, 1942, in Lima, the daughter of Gertrude (Pothast) Knebel Ernst, who survives in Delphos, and the late Syl Knebel.
Ms. Fisher was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos and the Delphos Eagles. She loved Country music and anything to do with Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Ricky (Angela) Fisher of Freeport, Texas; two daughters, Julie (Danny) Gillchriest of Freeport, and Deane Fisher of Delphos; one sister, Joan Mason of Landeck; a brother, Jim (Jane) Knebel of Delphos; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Maloney, and a daughter, Diane Maloney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Delphos.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 1, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 that evening.

METZGER
Howard G. Metzger, 87, of Delphos, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born July 29, 1917, the son of the late Arthur F. and Ellanora T. Metzger. He married Harriett Gasser, who died October 21, 1992.
Mr. Metzger retired as a supervisor at Delphos Bending Works. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, the Delphos Canal Commission and the Delphos Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include two sons, John H. Metzger of Lexington, Ky., and Edward J. (Nancy) Metzger of Hilliard; three daughters, Susan J. (Bruce) Metzger-Alden of Worthington, Joan M. (Scott) Metzger-Albert of Dublin and Beth A. (Jeff) Metzger-Kaufman of Powell; one brother, Bob (Betty) Metzger; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Emily Elwer.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis A. “Whitey” Metzger and Aloysius “Red” Metzger, and a sister, Ruth M. Steinbuck.

HUMPHREYS
Delores Humphreys, 73, of Kettering and formerly of Rockford, died March 26, 2005, at her residence.
She was born June 22, 1932, in Mercer County, the daughter of the late David and Mabel Beams. She was married to R.B. "Bob" Humphreys, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include six children Debbie (Robert) Reynolds of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Beth (Dan) Stark of Lizella, Ga., Kelly (Kathy) Humphreys of Miami Township, Sue (Bo Arnold) Humphreys of Fort Myers, Fla., Diane (Roger Wax) Evano of Kettering and Curtis (Mardi) Humphreys of Sharpsburg, Ga.; three brothers, Robert (Emma) Beams, Charlie (Glennie) Beams and Gene (Wanda) Beams; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and 10 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Stroop and Woodman Funeral Home in Kettering. Burial will follow in David's Cemetery in Kettering.

SMITH
Ormal E. Smith, 76, of Van Wert, died at 9:55 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born April 29, 1928, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Dewey C. and Leah (Richards) Shaw Sr. On November 16, 1946, she married Ralph J. Smith, who died August 27, 2002.
Mrs. Smith retired in 1994 from Van Wert Manufacturing Company in Van Wert. She was a member of the former Grace Church in Middle Point.
Survivors include a son, Kevin (Tina) Smith of Van Wert; two daughters, Karla (David) Boyce and Sandra (Dana) DeCamp, both of Van Wert; two brothers, Dewey C. (Leah) Shaw Jr. and Doyle Shaw, both of Van Wert; one sister, Shirley (Gene) Giessler of Van Wert; 11 grandchildren, Tammy Williamson, Angie Curtis, Amy Limbean, Corey Boyce, Jennifer Boyce, Tiffany Cox, Jay Herrick, Callie Herrick, Kelly Miller, Zachary Smith and Dustin Stuckey, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Mary Ann Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point.

SPEELMAN
Celia V. Speelman, 88, of Convoy, died at 8:05 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Van Wert Manor nursing home in Van Wert.
She was born September 1, 1916, in Melrose, the daughter of the late Sylvannus and Sarah (Seals) Wilder. On January 29, 1938, she married Leonard L. Speelman, who died March 27, 1977.
Mrs. Speelman was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth L. (Janet) Speelman of Scott and David L. (Nancy) Speelman of Convoy; a daughter, Linda L. (James) Hooghe of Dayton; one sister, Betty Odle of Mobile, Ala.; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Wilder, and several half-brothers and half-sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. James Howell officiating. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery.
