BUMBALOUGH
William O. Bumbalough, 73, formerly of Williamstown, Mich., and currently of Fruitland, Fla., died at 12:59 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Leesburg (Fla.) Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 6, 1931, in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late Comer and Frances (Hester) Bumbalough. On December 2, 1993, he married Betty Jane Hofacker, who survives in Fruitland.
Mr. Bumbalough owned and operated a Dairy Queen in Williamston, Mich., for 20 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Leesburg, Fla., and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, William D. (Kris) Bumbalough of Granger, Ind.; one daughter, Pamela (Bob) Cowan of Niles, Mich.; two stepdaughters, Linda S. (Elmer) Wagner of Ohio City and Lisa (Robert) Rice of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three sisters, Dorothy L. Romancky of St. Helen, Mich., and Mary E. (Albert) Romancky and Linda B. Hanes, both of Houghton Lake, Mich.; three grandchildren, and six stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard M. Bumbalough.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honor units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

SULLIVAN
Kenneth Wayne Sullivan, 48, of Van Wert, passed away at 8:43 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at his residence.
He was born December 7, 1956, in Lexington, Ky., the son of James Sullivan, who survives in Louisville, Ky., and the late Lillie James. In 1967, he went to live with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Moore, who later moved to Van Wert. On November 10, 2004, he married Constance Rowe, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Sullivan had worked for Mattel Corporation in Fort Wayne, Ind. He attended Jennings Road Church of Christ in Van Wert. He was a 1976 graduate of Van Wert High School, where he was a Cougar basketball star. He also continued to play basketball in various leagues and tournaments until the summer of 2003.
In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by his children, Adam Sullivan of Auburn, Ind., Teela Sullivan of Garrett, Ind., Arrianna Sullivan of Van Wert and Tekesiha Jackson of Greenville, Miss.; a sister, Roslyn Howard of Van Wert; two brothers, Joseph James of Van Wert and Dwight Howard of Bellefontaine; two grandchildren, Jakya and Jamya Jackson of Greenville, Miss., and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor David Ray officiating. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery in Grover Hill.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 4, at the funeral home.

UHRICH
Carl Eugene Uhrich, 89, of Van Wert, died at 12:51 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2005, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born September 24, 1915, in Liberty Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late John Lawrence and Millie Leah (Waltz) Uhrich.
Survivors include a nephew, Gordon McDonald of Stuart, Fla.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois McDonald, and two aunts, Fauna Denney and Mabel Schwartz.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Chuck Glover of Kingsley United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Calling hours are 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

COLLINS
Constance J. Collins, 48, of Van Wert, died at 5:25 a.m. Sunday, March 6, 2005, at Van Wert Manor nursing home in Van Wert.
She was born February 8, 1957, in Dayton, the daughter of Lois E. (Hull) Sheets of Celina and the late Joseph R. Sheets. On August 20, 1977, she married Mark A. Collins, who survives in Van Wert.
Mrs. Collins formerly worked at Van Wert County Hospital and for several doctor's office in Van Wert. She was a member of Trotwood Grace Brethren Church in Trotwood and attended Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert. She enjoyed following her son's sports activities.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by two sons, Benjamin J. (fiancé Tracy Byrne) Collins and Jared E. Collins, both of Van Wert; a brother, David Sheets of Sydney, Australia; one sister, Belinda (Terry) Kutter of Centerville, and a stepsister, Teri (John) Shaw of Olive Branch, Miss.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, at Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert, with Rev. Ray Feeck and Pastor Charles E. Lawson officiating.
Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert.

EDWARDS
Walter H. Edwards, 94, of 1109 E. Ervin Road, died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2005, at his residence.
He was born February 3, 1911, in Tully Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Henry and Elmyra (Young) Edwards. In 1936, he married Hazel L. Cox, who died in 1971. On January 11, 1975, he married Ruth V. (Woods) Davis, who survives at home.
Mr. Edwards retired from Continental Can Company (Greif Bros.) with 33 years of service. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Van Wert and belonged to American Legion Post 178 in Van Wert. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, who served as a medic in Germany.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Larry G. Edwards of Convoy; six stepchildren, Evelyn D. Schwartz of rural Van Wert, Donna Wermer and Doreen (Rick) O'Daffer, both of Van Wert, Bob (Mike) Davis of Kentucky, Roger (Lynn) Davis of Delphos and Mary (Tom) Odenweller of Middle Point; two grandchildren, David (Brenda) Edwards of Bryan, Texas, and Christian (Starla) Edwards of Ripley, Tenn.; 16 stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren, Joey Edwards, Crystal Edwards and Summer Edwards, all of Van Wert, and Kristina Edwards of Bryan, Texas; 17 step-great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Rachel, Amanda and Gregory, and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Roy Sylvester Edwards, William Edwards, Ernest Richard Edwards and Arthur N. Edwards; a sister, Mary Steele, and three great-grandchildren, Anthony Edwards, and two twin great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor William C. Haggis II of St. Mark's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military honors performed by the combined honor guards of Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

SUBLER
James L. Subler, 75, of Van Wert, died at 10 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2005, at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born December 16, 1929, in Dayton, the son of the late Louis L. and Mary Eva (Walden) Subler. On January 11, 1999, he married Sharon K. Butler, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Subler retired from Conrail Railroad in 1990 after 44 years of service. He attended Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert and was a lifetime member of Van Wert Moose Lodge 1320 and a life member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 886.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepmother, Mary Ellen (Hart) Subler Newcomer of Van Wert; two sons, Robert A. Subler of Johnstown and Terry J. (Carla) Subler of Lima; a daughter, Pamela Shaner of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Traci (David) Krouse of Greenwood, Ind., and Pamela (John) Wilson of Los Banos, Calif.; two brothers, Leonard (Laura) Subler of Van Wert and Larry (Gina) Subler of Ohio City; four sisters, Mary Louise Wright and Dena Mae (Gene) Walker, both of Franklin, and Nancy Friemoth and Tina (Mike) Owens, both of Van Wert; nine grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 11, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Neil Hammons officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in Ridge Township.

EXLINE
James W. Exline, 69, of Van Wert, died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, May 1, 2005, at Van Wert Manor nursing home.
He was born December 21, 1935, in Van Wert, the son of the late Charles W. and Mildred (Richards) Exline. On September 5, 1959, in Van Wert, he married Shirley Salway, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Exline retired from Aeroquip (Eaton) Corporation in 1994 after 30 years of service. He then worked part-time at Statewide Ford in Van Wert. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a life member of American Legion Post 346 in Ohio City, was a past commander of American Legion Post 178 in Van Wert, past Ohio 2nd District American Legion commander, a past Ohio 2nd District Sons of the American Legion assistant director, served 20 years as public relations director for the Ohio Buckeye Boys State program ad was a member of Lodge 1197, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in Van Wert. Was was formerly a reserve deputy sheriff for Van Wert County for 10 years and a sheriff's department photographer and also took sports photos for The Times-Bulletin newspaper. He was an associate member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Amvets and a life member, Department of Ohio.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Joel Salway of Springfield; one brother, Robert (Cheri) Exline of Van Wert; a nephew, Robert (Sandra) Exline Jr. of Dallas, Texas; a niece, Shelley (Don) Bokmiller of Chesapeake, Va., and one cousin, Beverly (Charles) DePoy of Wapakoneta.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, where graveside military rites will be performed by Legion Post 346 in Ohio City.
Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at the funeral home.
