WARDEN
Nancy L. Warden, 64, of Westlake and formerly of Van Wert, died early Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at her residence.
She was born October 16, 1941, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late James Robert and Esther (Price) Louth.
Ms. Warden worked at Peoples Bank & Trust in Van Wert as an account supervisor for many years. She was a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Van Wert and was very interested in Van Wert history and her family’s Welsh heritage. She will be remembered for her concern for others.
Survivors include a son, David Mefferd of Columbus; one daughter, Lynne (John) Cipriani of Rocky River, and four grandchildren, Annie and Libby Cipriani and Abrael and Isaih Mefferd.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 10, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Viewing hours are from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Van Wert County Historical Society.
HIGH
Janet E. High, 60, of Van Wert, died at 4:45 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2005, at her residence.
She was born August 23, 1945, in Galion, the daughter of H. Dwight Conkle, who survives in Mt. Gilead, and the late Annabelle (Markley) Conkle. She married Dwight L. High, who survives in Van Wert.
Mrs. High was a Licensed Practical Nurse who worked at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert. She attended Willshire United Brethren Church. She was a member of the Van Wert County Nurses Association and was a longtime secretary of the Dairy Goat Show at the Van Wert County Fair.
In addition to her husband and father, survivors include three sons, Michael T. (Deborah) High of Lillington, N.C., Kevin E. High of Los Angeles, Calif., and Jason E. High of Rockford; a brother, Mark (Chris) Conkle of Mt. Gilead; four sisters, Gloria (Jerry) Hershey, Nancy (Roger) Wren and Peggy (William) Swain, all of Mt. Gilead, and Alice (Tony) Sands of Caledonia, and two grandchildren, Korey and Nicholas High.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 21, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Mark Rutledge officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.
Viewing hours are from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, November 20, at the funeral home.

WILLIAMS
Susan Marie Williams, 39, of rural Van Wert, died at 6:18 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born May 31, 1966, in Decatur, Ind., the daughter of Mary Catherine (Felver) Williams-James, who survives in Ohio City, and the late Robert Eugene Williams.
Ms. Williams worked for Federal-Mogul Corporation in Van Wert for 17 years.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her stepfather, Ralph James of Ohio City; twins Summer Williams and Dylan Williams, both of Van Wert; another child, Sierra Williams of Van Wert; three brothers, David (Kelly) Williams of Ohio City, Kevin (Lori) Williams of Celina and Darin (Sharon) Williams of Van Wert, and two sisters, Cathy Hoover of Van Wert and Vicki (Monroe) Murphy of Ohio City.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Duane Williams, and one sister, Pamela Marie Williams.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 21, at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Ind., the Rev. Mary Ann Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Viewing hours are 2-4 p.m. Sunday, November 20, at the funeral home.
WORTHINGTON
Lester Paul Worthington, 85, of Van Wert, died at 1:48 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2005, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born February 2, 1920, in Van Wert, the son of the late Edward and Emma (Wadkins) Worthington. He never married.
Mr. Worthington had formerly worked at the Lima Tank Depot. The Hotel Marsh in Van Wert and the Van Wert County Fairgrounds.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman J., Virgil J. and Robert Worthington, and three sisters, Jane Lamb, Betty Stewart and Marjorie Imogene Brown.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 25, at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
There will be no visitation.

BROTHERWOOD
Thomas Eugene Brotherwood, 53, of Van Wert, died at 3:40 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2005, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born October 8, 1952, in Decatur, Ind., the son of the late Thomas and Florence (Dunn) Brotherwood.
Survivors include an uncle, Harry Dunn of Scott.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 26, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Scott Fleming officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.
There will be no visitation.
COOMBS
Ronald J. Coombs, 65, of Van Wert, died at 11:55 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2005, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
He was born August 18, 1940, near Pontiac, Mich., the son of the late Derwood and Madge (McCollum) Coombs.
Mr. Coombs retired after 37 years of service at Kennedy Manufacturing Company in Van Wert.
Survivors include two sons, Timothy Coombs and Michael Coombs, both of Van Wert; a daughter, Michelle Coombs of Van Wert; three brothers, Danny (Shirley) Coombs and Dean (Pat) Coombs, both of Michigan, and Jim (Terry) Coombs of Oscoda, Mich.; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Gerald Baker officiating.
Viewing hours are from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
FUERST
Alice B. Fuerst, 57, of Delphos, died at 7:13 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born May 1, 1948, in Lexington, Ky., the daughter of the late Alfred E. Coy and Bonnie Schutte.
Ms. Fuerst was a customer service representative for Verizon Communications and a graduate of Elida High School.
Survivors include a son, Bill (Brenda) Fuerst of Middle Point; two daughters, Kristina (Maxe) Raciti of Fort Scott, Kan., and Dawn Good of Cridersville; a stepdaughter, Tana Matte of Cridersville; four sisters, Barbara (Harold) Pickett of Lexington, Ky., Frankie Schaffer of Fort Worth, Texas, Jenny (Ernie) Numbers of Cridersville and Sandy McCann of Delphos, 11 grandchildren, and Rocky Reynolds of Dallas, Texas.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jesse Wayne Schuller.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, November 25, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with the Rev. Mark Bayliff officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.
Viewing hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 24, and from noon until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
