FRANE
Berniece C. Frane, 90, of Convoy, died at 6:36 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2005, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
She was born June 10, 1915, in Convoy, the daughter of the late Frank A. and Goldie B. (Milligan) Hilton. On June 27, 1934, she married Cletus J. Frane, who died in October 1979.
Mrs. Frane was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary in Convoy.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley J. (Robert) Laipply of rural Van Wert; three grandchildren, Robert A. (Lori) Laipply of Spring Arbor, Mich., and Stephen P. Laipply and Julie A. Laipply, both of Van Wert; three great-grandchildren, and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 7, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Father Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.
Viewing hours are from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, November 6, at Cowan & Son Stainfield Memorial Home in Convoy and an hour before services at the church on Monday.

BARNETT
Jennifer Lynne Barnett, 28, of Dayton and formerly of Rockford, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2005, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton from injuries received in am motorcycle accident.
She was born March 16, 1977, in Van Wert, the daughter of John L. Barnett, who survives in Dayton, and Barbara Barnett Decker, who survives in Rockford.
Miss Barnett was a waitress at several restaurants in the Dayton area. She was baptized at Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert and was a 1995 graduate of Beavercreek High School in Beavercreek, where she played in the band, which competed at the Grand National Class Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. She had also participated in track in the seventh and eighth grades at Parkway Middle School in Willshire.
In addition to her parents, survivors include two brothers, John (Julie) Barnett of Wapakoneta and Shawn Barnett of Rockford; two stepbrothers, Randy (Pam) Decker of Mercer and Todd (Sherry) Decker of Celina; a stepsister, Julie Jones of Decatur, Ind.; her paternal grandmother, Frances Barnett of Trotwood, and a stepgrandmother, Esther Buel of Rockford.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, James Edward Decker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, at New Horizons Community Church in Rockford, with Pastor Robert Loar officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
Viewing hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 7, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.

EVANS
William R. “Bill” Evans, 77, of Venedocia, devoted husband and loving father and grandfather, went to be with the Lord at 12:40 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2005, at his residence, after losing a long battle with cancer.
He was born March 15, 1928, in Hancock County, the son of the late Roland and Alice (Crone) Evans. On June 10, 1951, he married Doris Vineyard, who survives in Venedocia.
Mr. Evans was a lifelong farmer. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his family and friends. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was also a past commander the life member of the Ohio City American Legion Post.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Bill (Ruth Ringwald) Evans of Van Wert; two daughters, Dixie (John) Painter of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Diane (Ken) Linger of Columbus; two brothers, Robert C. (Iona) Evans of Bluffton, Ind., and Everett (Betty) Evans of Colorado; two sisters, Nancy (Charles) Saam of Ohio City and Joyce (Fred) Scaer of Convoy; 10 grandchildren, Michael W. Reed, Torrey (Scott) Walker, Wendy, Shana and Ross Evans, Stacy (Joe) Elling, Megan (Kevin) Price and Daniel, Jessica and Micah Linger, and four great-grandchildren, Thad and Zada Walker, Landon Price and Corbin Metcalf.
He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Richard “Dick” Evans, and a grandson, Thad M. Reed.
Private family funeral services will be conducted, with Pastor Harry C. Tolhurst officiating. Burial will be in Venedocia Cemetery, with military graveside ceremonies performed by the Ohio City American Legion post.
Viewing hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 1, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert.

MILLER
Lloyd F. Miller, 76, of Van Wert, died at 8 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2005, at Lincolnway Home near Middle Point.
He was born January 25, 1929, in Spencerville, the son of the late Elmer J. and Clara (Dannison) Miller. On July 19, 1947, he married Georgia A. George, who survives.
Mr. Miller farmed from 1947-1959 and then was in sales for the rest of his life, dealing in heavy equipment for the last 12 years of his career. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Van Wert and a 1947 graduate of York High School in Van Wert County. He was also a member of the Van Wert Camp of Gideons International.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Thomas L. (Julie) Miller and Gary A. (Paula) Miller, both of Van Wert; a brother, Carl E. (Mary) Miller of Winter Haven, Fla.; six grandchildren, Christa R. (Kris) Walton, Cory T. Miller, Chelcy F. (Ben) Williman, Danielle K. Miller, Kayla A. Miller and Sean A. Miller, and a great-granddaughter, Macy Faith Williman.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald E. Miller, who died in 1968.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 1, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Timothy Burden officiating. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery in Jennings Township, Van Wert County.
Viewing hours are 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, at the funeral home.

HARTMAN
Marvin David Hartman, 87, of Elida, died at 4:25 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2005, at Lima Convalescent Home.
He was born August 11, 1918, in Elida, the son of the late William and Anna (Powell) Hartman. On February 9, 1941, at Weavers Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg, Va., he married Annie Shank, who died September 24, 2005.
Mr. Hartman was a carpenter and worked at Lima Lumber for 50 years. He was known for his fine woodworking and made beautiful grandfather clocks, china cabinets and many specialized pieces of furniture for family and friends. Along with woodworking, he enjoyed gardening, camping, barbecuing chicken and reading. He was a member of Pike Mennonite Church, where he served as an elder and trustee, taught Sunday School and volunteered with the Mennonite Disaster Service to rebuild devastated communities. During World War II, he enlisted in Civilian Public Service in Luray, Va., as a camp cook.
Survivors include three sons, Dwayne (Dorothy) Hartman of Harrisonburg, Va., and Dwight (Ginny) Hartman and Bill (LaVonne) Hartman, both of Elida; a daughter, Janet Hartman of Omaha, Neb.; one brother, Robert Hartman; five grandchildren, Tonia (Preston) Hedrick, Tim Hartman, Kenric Hartman, Tina Hartman and Megan (Vince) Throngard, and a great-grandson, Drew Hartman.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Hartman, and two sisters, Ruby Good and Clara Brunk.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 3, at Pike Mennonite Church in Elida, with the Rev. Phillop Clemans officiating. Burial will be in Pike Mennonite Cemetery.
Viewing hours are from 5-8 p.m. Friday, December 2, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

HENDRICKS
Bonnie E. Hendricks, 77, of Van Wert, died at 6:50 a.m. Sunday, November 6, 2005, at the Columbus Alzheimer Care Center in Columbus.
She was born February 29, 1928, in Westside, Iowa, the daughter of the late George C. and Lucile (Doofman) Faun. On June 5, 1954, in Stryker, she married Fred G. Hendricks, who died July 8, 1989.
Mrs. Hendricks taught in the Van Wert City School District for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert and was a member of the choir and was on various church committees. She was a former member of the YWCA of Van Wert County, Peony Parade Committee, Eastern Star and Alpha Xi Sorority and volunteered for hospice and Wassenberg Art Center in Van Wert.
Survivors include a son, David (Pam) Hendricks of Columbus; two daughters, Christine Hendricks of Van Wert and Lori (Keith) Hansen of Leavenworth, Kansas; one sister, Lucille (Gale) Ingwerson of Missouri, and five grandchildren, Laura, Jennifer and Grace Hendricks, and Eric and Katy Hansen.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jean Hendricks, and four brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, at First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Dr. Edward Jillson officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Viewing hours are noon-2 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert.

RICKARD
James Junior "Pappy" Rickard, 81, of Rockford, died at 3:23 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2005, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born August 21, 1924, in Van Wert County, the son of the late James and Emma (Coil) Rickard. On February 12, 1947, he married Mary C. Zizelman, who survives.
Mr. Rickard was a truck driver for Schroyer Inc. for more than 50 years, as well as a farmer and lay minister for Friends Chapel Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 508 in Rockford.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Doug (Sandy) Rickard of Celina; four daughters, Roberta (Gordon) Brown of Rockford, Brenda (Tex) Kiefer and Cathy (Carl) Frank, both of Mendon, and Mary Lou (Tom) Massengil of Coldwater; one brother, Donald Rickard of Mendon; a sister, Louise Kohnen of Texas; 14 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Rickard.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 10, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Karen Long officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
Viewing hours are 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
