JONES
E. Ireta Jones, 82, of Woodcrest Retirement Community in Decatur, Ind., and formerly of Van Wert, died at 9 a.m. Sunday, October 9, 2005, at Adams County Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
She was born January 19, 1922, in Adams County, Ind., the daughter of the late Otto and Hattie (Laisure) Longenberger. On April 27, 1941, she married Robert Glen Jones, who died June 21, 2002.
Mrs. Jones retired from Continental Can Company (Greif Bros.) in 1979 after 32½ years of service.
Survivors include two brothers, Chester (Carol) Longenberger of Monroe, Ind., and Kenneth (Irene) Longenberger of Bradenton, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dolores Mitchel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor John Follett officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Viewing hours are an hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

ALSPAUGH
Chad Bryon Alspaugh, 28, of Rockford, died Saturday, October 1, 2005, as a result of a motorcycle accident in Mercer County.
He was born April 17, 1977, in Van Wert, the son of Albert and Dayle (Hileman) Alspaugh, who survive in Rockford.
Mr. Alspaugh was employed by Schroyer Trucking in Celina. He graduated from ITT Institute in Fort Wayne, Ind., with an associate's degree in applied science CAD in 2004. He had also been employed by Lift All in Fort Wayne in 2004.
Other survivors include two brothers, Brad (Suzanne) Alspaugh of Celina and Ethan Alspaugh of Rockford; paternal grandparents G.M. and Bonnie Alspaugh of Rockford; maternal grandfather Harvey Hileman of Willshire, and a niece, Brooke Alspaugh, of Celina.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Hileman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. (Indiana time) Wednesday at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Ind. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
Viewing hours are 1-4 and 5-8 p.m. (Indiana time) at the funeral home.

ROBIDEAU
James J. Robideau, 81, of Tecumseh, Mich., died at home on Saturday, October 15, 2005.
He was born August 4, 1924, in Monroe, Mich., the son of the late Emil and Emma (Horrigan) Robideau. On November 23, 1949, he married Gladys Goetz, who survives.
Mr. Robideau was founder and owner of Tecumseh Corrugated Box Company. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Tecumseh and belonged to the Tecumseh Country Club and Tecumseh Club. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, James (Theresa) Robideau of Van Wert and Jeffrey (C.J.) Robideau of Onsted, Mich.; a daughter, Peggy (Ed) Jeffery of Plymouth Township, Mich., and nine grandchildren, Megan and Julie Robideau, Ed, Rachel and Joe Jeffery; Nicole and Lindsey Robideau and Ryan and Brandon Chang.
Two brothers preceded him in death.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Tecumseh, with Father Daniel Wheeler officiating.
Viewing hours are 5-8 p.m. Monday, October 17, with a vigil for the deceased at 7 that evening, and from noon until the time of services on Tuesday, all at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.

BEARD
Lola Marie Beard, 65, of rural Convoy, was welcomed home to her eternal home at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2005, from the residence of her nephew in New Haven, Ind.
She was born December 19, 1939, in Van Wert County, the daughter of John William and Marie Magdaleen (Allmandinger) Beard.
Miss Beard retired from General Electric Company in Decatur, Ind. She was a member of Mt. Victory United Brethren Church, also in Decatur.
Survivors include three brothers, Robert O. (Rita) Beard and Bill E. Beard, both of Monroeville, Ind., and Russell L. (Bonnie) Beard of Convoy, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl W. Beard, Paul R. Beard and Leo W. Beard.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Ed Gebert officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Viewing hours are 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.

KNOLL
Charles William Knoll, 85, of rural Ohio City, died at 11:45 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2005, at the home of his daughter in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born January 13, 1920, in Van Wert, the son of the late Guy Albert and Hazel Mary (Carpenter) Knoll. On June 7, 1941, he married Ethyel Rose Hoffman, who died May 25, 2000.
Mr. Knoll was a retired farmer in Liberty Township. He was a member of Olive Branch Church of God and a graduate of Van Wert High School.
Survivors include a son, Larry J. (Susie) Knoll of Linton, Ind.; two daughters, Sara J. (Stephen) Clark of Fort Wayne and Mary L. (Ron) Treon of Dublin; a brother-in-law, Roy Bell of Van Wert; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
A sister, Ruth Bell, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 20, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Steve Waterman officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

DOUGAL
Harold N. Dougal, 94, of Scott, died at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at Hearth & Home Assisted Living in Van Wert.
He was born August 25, 1911, in Scott, the son of the late George G. and Linnie (Norris) Dougal. On October 1, 1949, he married Velma E. Schaadt, who died February 18, 2003.
Mr. Dougal was a retired rural mail carrier for 41 years, retiring in 1974. He was a member of North Union United Methodist Church in rural Van Wert County, a 60-year member of Masonic Lodge 218 in Van Wert, a charter member of the Scott Lions Club and served in the U.S. Army in England during World War II.
Survivors include three sons, George A. (Amy) Dougal of Scott, James H. (Jennifer) Dougal of Woodburn, Ind., and Jerry D. (Marsha) Dougal of Ossian, Ind.; a sister, Maxine Enz of Worthington; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Three sisters, Norma Williams, Rheba Campbell and Audrey Mosier, and a grandchild preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 22, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Rev. Mary Ann Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military honors performed by the combined honors unit of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 and American Legion Post 178, both of Van Wert.
Viewing hours are 4-8 p.m. Friday, October 21, at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be held at 7:45 that evening.

ROSENDAHL
James R. Rosendahl, 85, of Convoy, died at 7:04 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born August 31, 1920, in Livingston County, Ill., the son of the late Louis A. and Lilly (Baehler) Rosendahl. On May 23, 1942, he married Joyce Gardner, who survives at the residence.
Mr. Rosendahl was a retired rural mail carrier who had worked for the Convoy Post Office for 23 years, retiring in 1982. He was a lifetime member of Convoy United Methodist Church. He had served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre during World War II and was a member of Convoy American Legion Post 208. He was known for his active service in the community, as well as his skill and love for raising flowers.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four sons, James L. (Jeanne) Rosendahl of Washington Court House, Stanley (Diane) Rosendahl of South Lyon, Mich., David (Jeanne) Rosendahl of Fort Wayne, Ind., and John Rosendahl of Reston, Va.; a daughter, Mary Lou (Dave) Evans of Montgomery; two brothers, Harold (Phyllis) Rosendahl of Van Wert and Richard (Juanita) Rosendahl of Yuma, Ariz.; two sisters, Yvonne (Larry) McCord of Humboldt, Tenn., and Alice Carpenter of Charlotte, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, and five great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 22, at Convoy United Methodist Church, with Rev. Steve Conner officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy, with graveside military rites performed by American Legion Post 208.
Viewing hours are 4-8 p.m. Friday, October 21, at Gearhart, Mack & Jurcyzk Funeral Home in Convoy and an hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
