NERAD
Mabel Grace Nerad, 91, of Van Wert, died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born December 16, 1913, in Richland County, the daughter of the late Harris and Jessie (Hoffman) Kennedy. She married Elmer Charles Nerad, who died in 1972.
Mrs. Nerad was employed as a cook at the Hotel Elder, Lamar's, Lester's Diner and Kaufman's, all in Bryan, and retired from Allied Moulded Plastics in Bryan.
Survivors include two sons, Theodore James (Marcia) Nerad of Coldwater, Mich., and Patrick Harris Nerad of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a daughter, Christine Marie Nerad of Van Wert; one sister, Ada Krupinski of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Marcus Nerad, Elisa Boekhoff, Susan Mosko, Paul Nerad, David Nerad and Christopher Homan, and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Charles Nerad; one brother, Walter Kennedy, and three sisters, Marie Savage, Mildred Gross and Dorothy Croushore.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 22, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Edward W. Jillson officiating.
Viewing hours are from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

WIFORD
Matthew Aaron Lange Wiford, 35, of Elida and formerly of Delphos, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima from long-term injuries received in an automobile accident that occurred in May 1990. He had resided at Richland Manor for the past 10 years.
He was born March 21, 1970, in Lima, the son of Thomas R. Lange, who survives in California, and Elizabeth Anne Wiford, who survives in Elida.
Mr. Wiford was a graduate of Elida High School and Apollo Career Center in carpentry. He worked for Odenweller Construction prior to his accident.
Other survivors include a brother, Mark Wiford of Lima; three sisters, Lisa (Carroll) Teman and Lynne Lange, both of Delphos, and Laura Wiford of Elida, and a niece, Amanda Teman.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ellsworth and Nancy Wiford and Henry and Leona Lange.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, October 24, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with Father Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.
Viewing hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 23, and an hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.

HEATH
Roger David Heath, 72, of Van Wert, died at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2005, in Crawford County, Ind., from injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
He was born April 25, 1933, in York Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late James M. Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth (Nelson) Heath. On July 17, 1955, he married Mildred F. Gamble, who died March 16, 2002.
Mr. Heath had worked at several Van Wert factories and in service-related jobs. He was a 1951 graduate of York High School and a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church in rural Van Wert County. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, 1953-1955, and is a member of First Families of Ohio and York Township. He was an avid BMW motorcycle rider and a member of the BMW Owners Association and American Motorcycle Association. He was a volunteer driver for the Veterans Administration and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Kevin (Julie) Heath of Willshire; three daughters, Laurie Heath, Lisa Heath and Stacie (Kyle) Pollock, all of Van Wert; one brother, William N. (Muriel) Heath of Sidney; a sister-in-law, Evelyn L. Heath of Van Wert, and four grandchildren, Austin Heath, Kristin Heath, Alyssa Pollock and Haley Pollock.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Mounts Heath Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 24, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Rev. Chuck Glover and Rev. Clarence Owsley officiating. Burial will be inTomlinson Cemetery in Union Township, Mercer County.
Viewing hours are 2-8 p.m. Sunday, October 23, at the funeral home.

MASCORRO
Robin Elaine Mascorro, 47, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died at 10:54 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at St. Joe Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
She was born May 5, 1958, in Van Wert, the daughter of Burton W. and Jean (Schwarck) Carrier of rural Convoy.
Other survivors include two daughters, Sara (Tony) Bear of Ossian, Ind., and Kathryn Ford of Fort Wayne; five sisters, Deanna (Tom) Mosier of Scott, Kay Christman of Fenton, Mich., Beth (John) Muntzinger of Seymour, Ind., Stella (Thane) Thatcher of Columbus and Lisa (David) Gibson of New Haven, Ind.; three grandchildren, and a special friend Jack Broyles of Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by twin children, Benjamin Burton and Barbara Jean Ford.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, October 24, at Cowan & Son Stainfield Memorial Home in Convoy, with the Rev. Dale Worcester officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.
Viewing hours are from noon-2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

SCHUELER
Carol A. Schueler, 61, of Convoy, beloved mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, daughter and friend, died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2005, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born March 21, 1944, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of Ruth McBride, who survives in Fort Wayne, and the late Ray McBride. She married Halden Schueler, who survives in Convoy.
Mrs. Schueler was secretary for Bethel and North Union United Methodist churches in Van Wert County, and for St. Thomas Lutheran Church in rural Ohio City, of which she also was a member.
In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include three sons, Shawn Donovan of Leo, Ind., Kevin (Lori) Donovan of Fort Wayne and Aaron (Tabitha) Donovan of Garrett, Ind.; a brother, Ron (Joyce) McBride of Fort Wayne; four sisters, Sharon (John) Bovie of Huntertown, Ind., Penny (Harry) Marshall of Churubusco, Ind., Vickie (Jim) Beach of Nashville, Ind., and Connie (Steve) Miller of Ossian, Ind.; two grandchildren, Connor and Emily Donovan, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 6, at St. Thomas Lutheran Church of rural Ohio City, with the Rev. Timothy Simms officiating. Burial will be in Evangelical Protestant Cemetery outside Ohio City.
Viewing hours are from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, at Gearhart, Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy, and from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

STEMEN
Jerry O. Stemen, 61, of Van Wert, died at 3:41 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2005, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born March 24, 1944, in Van Wert, the son of the late Everett O. “Nick” and Nina (McClure) Stemen. On October 20, 1963, he married Linda Dougal, who survives at the residence.
Mr. Stemen was production supervisor at Kennedy Manufacturing company in Van Wert for 41 years. He was a member of Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, was an avid fisherman and belonged to the Van Wert County BassMasters.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Todd (Jennifer) Stemen and Travis (Sarah) Stemen, both of Van Wert; a daughter, Angie (Todd) Wolfrum of Van Wert; one brother, John (Sue) Stemen of Middle Point; brothers- and sisters-in-law Gary and Barb Adams and Lyle and Sandra Dougal, all of Van Wert; nine grandchildren, Emerson, Caleb and Nick Sowers, Calahan and Samuel Wolfrum, Alyssa and Frankie Stemen and Jacksen Stemen and Garrett Smith, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, at Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. John Perkins, Rev. Neil Hammons and Rev. Gerald Baker officiating. Burial will be in King Cemetery near Middle Point.
Viewing hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

FARLOW
Larry D. Farlow, 68, of Ohio City, died at 9:48 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2005, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born August 8, 1937, in South Bend, Ind., the son of the late Claudius Farlow and Grace Almyra Farlow-Kozak. On October 13, 1983, he married Julie Nichols, who survives at the residence.
Mr. Farlow had retired as a self-employed painter. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in Decatur, Ind.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, at Willshire Cemetery, with military graveside rites performed by the combined honors unit of VFW Post 5803 and Legion Post 178, both in Van Wert.
There will be no viewing hours.
