GOODWIN
Mary E. Goodwin, 68, of Delphos, died at 11:44 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2005, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born December 12, 1936, in Coldwater, the daughter of the late Andy and Lela (Kincaid) Black. On August 27, 1954, she married Carl Lee Goodwin, who died December 29, 1996.
Mrs. Goodwin was a homemaker and a retired nurse at Auglaize Acres nursing home. She was a member of First Christian Union Church and enjoyed knitting crocheting, camping and collecting cow items.
Survivors include three sons, Gary Goodwin Sr. and Joe (Mary Lou) Goodwin, both of Delphos, and Larry (Linda) Goodwin of Dublin; a daughter, Brenda Goodwin of Ottoville; one brother, Johnny Black of Celina; three sisters, Karen Ross of Wabash, Helen Woodward of Laquard, Mo., and Lulubelle Jeffries of Celina; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
A brother, Jamie Black, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 20, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with the Rev. Ron Drage officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.
Viewing hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 19, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.

STALEY
Patricia Ann Staley, 39, of Van Wert and formerly of Indianapolis, Ind., died early Friday morning, October 21, 2005, at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born June 23, 1966, in Decatur, Ga., the daughter of Ronald and Ruth (Bader) Staley, who both survive in Van Wert. She never married.
Miss Staley was a retired special education teacher in the Indianapolis Public School System. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and served on the church’s Service Committee. She was a graduate of Van Wert High School and Ball State University.
In addition to her parents, survivors include a daughter, Kayla Staley of Van Wert; one brother, Craig (Kathy) Staley of Middle Point; a niece, Katelynn Staley of Middle Point, and one nephew, Jacob Staley of Middle Point.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Rev. William Haggis II officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Viewing hours are 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

SKEVINGTON
Murray A. Skevington, 89, formerly of Van Wert, died at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2005, at Woodhaven Health Care Center in Bowling Green.
He was born December 23, 1916, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the son of the late Harry and Rita (Reed) Skevington. On December 4, 1937, he married Ethel M. McCauslin, who died April 1, 1996.
Mr. Skevington had worked in management at the former Chrysler Amplex Corporation plant in Van Wert. He had been a member of the Zion Masonic Lodge in Michigan for many years and had been a volunteer at Brumback Library for several years.
Survivors include three sons, Harry (Pat) Skevington of Key West, Fla., Robert (Nelda) Skevington of San Antonio, Texas, and Gary Skevington of Evanston, Ill.; two daughters, Denise (Scott) McEwen of Bowling Green and Mary Skevington of Dearborn, Mich.; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Skevington; one brother, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 15, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert. Burial will be in Mohr Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.
Viewing hours are noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

SPRINGER
Hilda Colleen Springer, 64, of 366 W. Maple Ave., Van Wert, died at 12:24 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2005, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born November 8, 1940, in Fort Jennings, the daughter of the late Clayton and Floella (Weyer) Mericle. She was divorced.
Survivors include two daughters, Angie Eimers of rural Van Wert and Shelley James of Morehead City, N.C.; a sister, Nancy Lundin of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren, Ashley Eimers, Zachary Keith, Matthew Reinhart, Alisha Sterrett and Kyle Sterrett, and a great-grandson, Landon Eimers.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Grenfall, Braxen and Charles Mericle, and two sisters, Susan Vaniees and Elaine Fahn.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 15, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Job Stagner officiating.
Viewing hours are 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 14, at the funeral home.

MILLER
Kenneth S. Miller, 80, of Van Wert, died at 8:26 a.m. Sunday, October 23, 2005, at Van Wert Manor nursing home in Van Wert.
He was born December 5, 1924, in Findlay, the son of the late Walter and Helen (Harman) Miller. On October 18, 1948, he married Evelyn M. Breece, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Miller retired from Federal-Mogul Corporation's National Seal Division plant in Van Wert. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert, as well as the Van Wert Moose lodge.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Regina (Tom) Flynn of New Haven, Ind., and Kelli Miller of Van Wert; two grandchildren, Amy Zimmerman and Erica David, and two great-grandchildren, Dalton Zimmerman and Cody David.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gale Lee Miller, and two brothers, Stanley and Gene Miller.
Private family services will be held Wednesday, October 26, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honor units of Legion Post 178 and VFW Post 5803.
Viewing hours are from 2-5 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert.

BEAMER
Virgil L. Beamer, 83, of Van Wert, died at 7:05 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2005, at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born September 26, 1922, in Hoaglin Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Clifford Lee and Eva Lee (Tomlinson) Beamer. He married Virginia Babcock, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Beamer was a retired employee of the former Continental Can Company, with 43 years of service. He was U.S. Navy veteran who served during World War II.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Patti (Doug) Pierce of Victor, N.Y.; one sister, Helen Mardell (William) Wilcox of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three nieces, Dorothy (Paul) Silance; Deborah (Bob) Parsons and Joyce (Kent) Ellison, and two nephews, William (Angela) Wilcox Jr. and Mike Kauble.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Beamer; two sisters, Cecil Ruby Douglas and Lois Rebecca Dilbone; four brothers-in-law, Roy Douglas, John Walls, Wilbur Dilbone and Gene Kauble, and a niece, Kay Ackerman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 27, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with military graveside services performed by the combined honors unit of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert.
Viewing hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, at the funeral home.

OSBORN
Dale A. Osborn, 88, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at the Lutheran Home in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born January 18, 1917, in Wells County, Ind., the son of the late Charles C. and Beulah Bell (Folk) Osborn. On November 6, 1938, he married Naomi P. Anderson, who survives.
Mr. Osborn was a minister in the United Brethren in Christ denomination, serving churches in Huntington, Fort Wayne and Monroe, Ind., and Wren. He graduated from Lancaster High School and Huntington (Ind.) College. In 1956, he went with North American Consumers Electronics, where he retired in 1982. He loved to hunt, was an avid golfer, had won several senior awards and was a Chicago Cubs fan. For several years he was a volunteer escort at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. After retiring he spent his winters in Florida.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Joan (Wilbur) Clymer of Van Wert, Janet (Merle) Naeve of Dewey, Ariz., and Pauline (William) Arnold of Fremont, Ind.; a brother, Jessie Osborn of Poneta, Ind.; two sisters, Betty Mayer and Bessie Oliver, both of Bluffton, Ind.; five grandchildren, Gary (Deb) Clymer of Troy, Rick (Patt) Clymer of Mundelein, Ill., Patty (Steve) Jones of Van Wert; Debi Townsend and Mark Arnold, both of Fort Wayne; nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Marion, Dwight, Jay, Clifford, Max, Charles and Paul Osborn; three sisters, Ida Hankins, Mary Perry and Martha Zimmerman, and a grandson, Kerry Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 29, at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Winchester Road Chapel in Fort Wayne.
