PESSEFALL
Laura Ann (Witten) Pessefall, 40, of Ohio City, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2005, at Lincolnway Home near Middle Point.
She was born December 27, 1963, in Van Wert, the daughter of Donald E. Witten and Carole A. Davie, both of whom survive in Ohio City. She was divorced.
Ms. Pessefall had worked at CME Automotive in Monroeville, Ind. She was a 1982 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School and was a member of Ohio City United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, survivors include a stepmother, Linda Witten of Ohio City; her stepfather, Hunsaker Davie of Ohio City; two sons, Christen Pessefall and Chad Pessefall, both of Ohio City; two daughters, Whitney (Scott) Bigham and Brittany Pessefall, both of Ohio City, and two sisters, Linda D. Witten McMichael of Van Wert and Tanya (Bill) Scholl of Cincinnati.
She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Clifton A. "Butch" Pessefall on June 6, 2005.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 29, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, Pastor Matt Braun and Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.
Viewing hours are 2-8 p.m. Friday, October 28, at the funeral home.

KOHN
Bobby Joe Kohn, 66, of 12283 Wren-Landeck Road, Van Wert, died at 3:38 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2005, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born September 10, 1939, in Pleasant Mills, Ind., the son of the late Floyd Lee and Gladys Marie (Byer) Kohn. He was divorced.
Mr. Kohn retired from New Idea in Coldwater with 37 years of service. He was a member of Rockford Eagles Aerie 1292.
Survivors include a daughter, Amy Jo Thatcher of Convoy; two brothers, Max (Ellen) Kohn of Ohio City and Terry (Teresa) Kohn of Hastings, Mich.; two sisters, Billie (Don) Hurless of Van Wert and Bonnie (Allen) Gribler of Goodyear, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Janice Kohn of Ohio City, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Dean Kohn, and two sisters, Ganell Edsall and Juanita Parrish.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2005, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Viewing hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, at the funeral home.

COOLEY
Florentine E. “Honey” Cooley, 81, of Delphos, died Saturday, October 22, 2005, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Delphos.
She was born May 1, 1924, in Putnam County, the daughter of the late Henry and JoHanna (Brinkman) Martin. On February 12, 1945, she married James W. Cooley, who died January 22, 1988.
Mrs. Cooley worked at the Delphos Recreation Center as a waitress. She was a member of the Delphos Eagles, Fraternal Order of Orioles 173, Delphos Senior Citizens and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos. She loved to bowl.
Survivors include a son, Tom Cooley of Delphos; five daughters, Sue (Wayne) Meeks of Lima, Diane (Paul) Fetzer, Pat (Richard) Patton and Jodi (Jamie Joseph) Cooley, all of Delphos, and Vicky (Von) Lee of Middle Point; one brother, William (Ruth) Martin of Lima; 29 children, and 43 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Hesseling; one son, Rob Cooley; three sisters, Hilda Grothouse, Gertrude Etter and Dorothy Kendall; three brothers, Leonard, Leo and Walter Martin; a grandson, Jason Bockey, and a great-grandson, Alexander Munoz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Delphos.
Viewing hours are 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, at Harter & Schier Memorial Chapel in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 4 that afternoon.

DANCER
Andrew J. Dancer, 91, of Delphos, died at 1:18 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2005, at Defiance Hospital.
He was born March 3, 1914, in Allen County, the son of the late Frank and Anna Marie (Schulte) Dancer. On June 23, 1934, he married Grace A. Dancer, who passed away on June 27, 2005.
Mr. Dancer was a tool and die maker for Precision Machine Products and was also a longtime owner of the Texaco service station in Delphos. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos and was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling and woodworking.
Survivors include a son, James (Joyce) Dancer of Indianapolis, Ind.; one daughter, Linda (Stephen) Imber of Defiance; a brother, Robert Dancer of Elida; two sisters, Alberta Suever of Delphos and Carmlita Mills of Lima; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, George Dancer; one sister, Lucille Huebner, and a stepbrother, Chester Dancer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.

MOSIER
Lemuel J. “LJ” Mosier, 81, of Van Wert, went to be with the Lord at 6:15 a.m. on a beautiful, sunny day on Sunday, October 30, 2005, at his residence.
He was born November 15, 1923, in Jackson Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Lemuel and Myrtle (Dunlap) Mosier. On August 30, 1957, in Mendon, he married Carol Sutton Mosier, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Mosier retired after 36 years as a fireman and engineer for the New York Central, Penn Central and Conrail railroads. He also mowed lawns for seven years for Mike Spray's Lawn Service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert. He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a member of American Legion Post 178 and was active in the Van Wert County Council on Aging.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Sara (Randy) Roberts of Van Wert; four sons, David L. (Lisa) Mosier of Van Wert, Craig Lemuel Mosier of Lawton, Okla., Dan (Anita) Edwards of Lima and Keith (Denise) Mosier of Columbus; three sisters, Frances Sherrick of Logansport, Ind., and Margaret Clay and Dorothy Anderson, both of Van Wert; 14 grandchildren, Aaron, Kyle, Ryan, Andrew, Seth, Josh, Trish, Randi, Cody, Cory, Preston, Dennis, Allie and Noah; a stepgranddaughter, Stephanie; two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Bailey, and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Miah, Aerica and Kaden.
He was preceded in death by a son, David R. Mosier; five brothers, Everett, Roland, Lawrence, Harold and Ernest Mosier, and a sister, Bernice Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Rev. Paul Miller and Rev. Daryl Ramey officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with military graveside rites performed by the combined honors units of Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert.
Viewing hours are from 2-4 and 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, at the funeral home.

NEIFORD
Ruth E. Neiford, 80, of Van Wert, went home to be with the Lord at 3:22 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2005, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
She was born September 21, 1925, in Spencerville, the daughter of the late Elmer and Dana (Miller) Starkey. On January 23, 1945, she married Louis Showalter, who died June 21, 1968. On April 15, 1972, she married Calvin Neiford, who survives in Van Wert.
Mrs. Neiford worked at the White Cloud and Speed Queen laundromats in Van Wert for more than 35 years and was known as the “laundry lady” while she worked. She was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert.
In addition to her husband, survivors include six children, Anita (David) Baer of Van Wert, Sidney (Betty) Showalter of Celina; Candice (David) Starkey of Sugar Loaf Key, Fla., Joy (Bruce) Oliver of Hampton, Va., Mitchell (Penny) Showalter of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Dean (Tammy) Showalter of Haviland; three stepchildren, Jim Showalter of Mattoon, Ill., Jean Johnston of St. Louis, Mo., and Sue Robinson of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, Carl (Janet) Starkey of Baton Rouge, La.; 18 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two children, Barbara Brickley and Jacob Showalter; a stepson, Larry Showalter, and two brothers, Bill and Richard “Dick” Starkey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Bob Ratliff officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Viewing hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.

MILLER
Robert W. Miller, 73, of Delphos, died at 7:03 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2005, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 20, 1932, in Van Wert County, the son of the late Don and Emma (Rice) Miller. On April 8, 1953, he married Anna Mae Wills, who survives in Delphos.
Mr. Miller retired from Delphos City Schools as custodian after 30 years, and retired from The Commercial Bank of Delphos as a courier after five years of service. He had also been a Delphos City Schools bus driver and custodian of First United Presbyterian Church in Delphos since 1974. He also sang in the church choir. Mr. Miller was a graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School, was a member of the Jefferson Alumni Choir, Hope Lodge 214 and Delphos Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed gardening, was a handyman, loved to talk with people and enjoyed spending time with former classmates and friends. He also liked American history and attending live theatre productions. He was also a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Douglas R. (Debbie) Miller of Crystal Lake, Ill., Gary R. Miller of Hilliard and David Lee (Stephanie) Miller of Columbus; two sisters, Oleta Fronk and Anne Miller, both of Delphos; two brothers, Dale (Ruth) Miller and Herbert (Catherine) Miller, both of Delphos, and five grandchildren, Ian, Kristen, Chris, Brittany and Elizabeth Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, October 31, at First United Presbyterian Church in Delphos, with the Rev. Harry Tolhorst officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.
Viewing hours are 6-8 p.m. Saturday, October 29, and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 30, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a Masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 Saturday evening, and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.
