AMWEG
Jade Elizabeth Amweg, 26, of Decatur, Ind., died at approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005, in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Wren-Landeck and Dull Robinson roads near Ohio City.
She was born May 30, 1979, the daughter of Rex Harold Hamilton, who survives in Decatur, and Pamela Lou (Arnold) Hamilton, who survives in Monroe, Ind. On January 2, 2003, she married Kristian Daniel Amweg, who died in the same accident.
Mrs. Amweg was employed at Thunderbird. She was a graduate of Bellmont High School in Decatur.
In addition to her parents, survivors include two sons, Keaton Matthew Ostermeyer and Jaxson Kyle Amweg, both at home; a daughter, Avery Alyse Amweg, a home; paternal grandmother, Bonnie Hamilton of Decatur; maternal grandparents Harold and Pat Arnold of Monroe; one brother, Derek Edward Hamilton of Decatur; two sisters, Lacy Ann (Max) Feasel and Steffie Lou Hamilton, both of Decatur, and three half-brothers, Wyatt Joseph Hamilton, Toby Miller and Tukker Miller, all of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Carl Edward Hamilton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Steve Waterman officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Viewing hours are 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

AMWEG
Kristian Daniel “Pee Wee” Amweg, 27, of Decatur, Ind., died at approximately 8:30 p.m. in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Wren-Landeck and Dull Robinson roads near Ohio City.
He was born May 3, 1978, in Van Wert, the son of Jackie Lynn and Christina Ann (Taylor) Amweg, both of whom survive in Ohio City. On January 2, 2003, he married Jade Elizabeth Hamilton, who died in the same accident.
Mr. Amweg was employed by Fleetwood in Decatur. He was a graduate of Van Wert High School.
Survivors include two sons, Keaton Matthew Ostermeyer and Jaxson Kyle Amweg, both at home; a daughter, Avery Alyse Amweg, at home; one brother, Matthew Gregory Amweg of Ohio City, and a sister, Jessica Lynn Amweg of Ohio City.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Daniel and Luella Amweg, and maternal grandparents, Donald E. and Betty Lou Taylor Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Rev. Steve Waterman officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Viewing hours are 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, at the funeral home.

HAMMOND
Elizabeth M. “Lib” Hammond, 83, of Van Wert, died at 5:20 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2005, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born August 30, 1922, in Paulding County, the daughter of the late Clark and Ella (Glaze) Caris. She first married Oliver Hammond and then Max Wright, who both preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hammond was a devoted employee of Continental Can Company prior to moving to Orlando, Fla., in 1975. She was a graduate of Grover Hill High School, Class of 1940, and was a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Unit 5803.
Survivors include a son, Ed Hammond of Van Wert; one brother-in-law, Furl Sanderson of Van Wert; a sister-in-law, Catharine Caris of Grover Hill; one granddaughter, Jennifer L. (David) Hammond Lincoln of Apopka, Fla., who was the light of her life; two nieces; eight nephews, and several cousins also survive, as does a great-niece, Jill (Dunlap) Fast, who the family would like to thank for her love, support and devotion to “Lib.”
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil and Carl Caris, and two sisters, Dola Sanderson and Esther Dunlap.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday, September 8, at Middlecreek Cemetery near Grover Hill, with the Rev. Paul Miller officiating.
There will be no viewing hours.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Vancrest Health Care Center Activities Fund.

LAUKHUF
Marvin D. Laukhuf, 75, of Haviland, died at 8:55 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2005, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born February 8, 1930, in Paulding County, the son of the late August “Gus” and Madie (Guingrich) Laukhuf. On November 4, 1951, he married Delores O. Wisener, who survives in Haviland.
Mr. Laukhuf was a lifelong farmer in the Haviland area and a longtime member of the National Farmers Organization and Ohio Farmers Union. He was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a sister, Joan (Don) Hughes of Columbus, and one sister-in-law, Betty Laukhuf of Bowling Green.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Laukhuf.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Van Wert County.
There will be no viewing hours.

COUTS
Clarence B. Couts Jr., 84, of 14504 Ohio 118, Ohio City, died at 4:40 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2005, at his residence.
He was born February 3, 1921, in York Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Clarence B. and Roxy Eugenia (Garrison) Couts. On August 15, 1942, he married Mary Ellen Putman, who survives.
Mr. Couts was a retired self-employed mason and contractor. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ohio City and was a graduate of York High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II as a boatswain’s mate aboard the USS Chandeleur AV-10. He was a life member of Harvey Lewis Post 346, American Legion, in Ohio City, and of Robert G. Longwell Post 5803, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Van Wert. He also belonged to Shanes Aerie 1292, Fraternal Order of Eagles, in Rockford, and a 50-year member of Bricklayers Union Local 44 in Fort Wayne, Ind.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son Jed Dee (Rose Marie) Couts of Ohio City; four grandchildren, Janna Jo “JJ” (Lance) Freeman, Jeremy Couts, Joshua (Heather) Couts and Mickey (Jamie) Font, and six great-grandchildren, Kevon Freeman, Caleb Freeman, Truitt Freeman, Haidyn Couts, Zoey Font and Zachary Font.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Sue Murphy; five brothers, Joseph J. Couts, George J. Couts, Daniel Couts, Robert Couts and Rollie Couts, and six sisters, Clarice Stalker, Ellen G. Smitley, Marcille Leonard, Florence East, Winifred Fowler and Martha Madeline Couts.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 29, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Denise Brown officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, with military graveside rites performed by Legion Post 346 in Ohio City.
Viewing hours are 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, at the funeral home.

GARVER
Florence Viola Garver, 89, formerly of Glenmore, died at 5:20 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2005, at Van Wert Manor nursing home in Van Wert.
She was born December 7, 1916, in Willshire Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Fred C. and Clara Ellen (Myers) Giessler. On July 18, 1936, she married Elmer Edward Garver, who died July 30, 1977.
Mrs. Garver had worked at Tuway Products in Rockford and retired from Ohio City Manufacturing in Ohio City. She then was a caregiver for several elderly people in the area. She was a member of the former St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Van Wert.
Survivors include a son, Edward E. (Alice) Garver of Van Wert; two daughters, Clara C. Gilbert of Van Wert and Rosemary L. Krick of Ohio City; six grandchildren, Cindy (Mark) Sundem, Connie (Mike) Butler, Sandy (Tony) King, Mark (Michelle) Krick, Robert (Karen) Garver and Cathy (Jeff) Jones; 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Merkle and Arvilla Giessler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Harold W. Gerig officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Viewing hours are 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, at the funeral home.
ROBINSON
Donald E. Robinson, 84, of Delphos, died at 6:35 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2005, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Delphos.
He was born August 14, 1921, in Delphos, the son of the late Jesse and Rose (Dolt) Robinson.
Mr. Robinson was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
No survivors were listed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Delphos, with military graveside rites conducted by the Delphos Veterans Council.
Viewing hours are 5-8 p.m. Monday, September 26, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 that evening.
