GURTNER
Private First Class Christian D. Gurtner, 19, of Ohio City, died at April 2, 2003.
He was born June 23, 1983, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Gary and Eldonna (Gurtner) Wagonrod of Ohio City. He never married.
Pfc. Gurtner was on active military service with the United States Marine Corps serving in Iraq at the time of his death. He was a 2002 graduate of Van Wert High School.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by an infant daughter; "His Little Sweetheart," Alicia Sterling; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Wagonrod of Van Wert; one maternal grandmother, Sally Gurtner of Fremont, Ind.; three sisters, Tammy (Patrick) Williamson of Lyons, Mich., Angie (Rob) Curtis of Belle Center and Amy (Tom) Limbean of Riverton, Utah; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by two uncles, LynDon and Earl Gurtner; and two grandfathers, Eldon Gurtner and Richard Wagonrod Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Eric Dailey officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, with full military honors provided by Detachment 1 Communications Company, U.S. Marines, Peru, Ind.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m.-noon and 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

DUDGEON
Phillip D. Dudgeon, 18 months, died Sunday morning, April 20, 2003, at his residence.
He was born October 25, 2001, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the son of Brian and Jennifer (Mullen) Dudgeon of Delphos.
Phillip had chubby little cheeks and an ornery grin. He loved to play with his tools.
Other survivors include a brother, Corey Dudgeon, at home; a paternal grandfather, Phillip Dudgeon; paternal grandmother Linda Hartsock of Delphos; maternal grandparents, Dan and Diana Mullen of Delphos; two maternal great-grandfathers, Dale VanMeter and James Mullen; maternal great-grandmothers, Wanda VanMeter and Mary Mullen, both of Delphos; four uncles, Aaron (Kim) Mullen, Brad (Kelly) Dudgeon, Kevin (Kathy) Dudgeon and Travis Dudgeon, all of Delphos, and seven cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos, the Rev. Dave Howell officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
HUEBNER
Sharon K. Huebner, 55, of Laurens, S.C., died at 4:20 a.m. Sunday, April 20, 2003, at Geauga Community Hospital in Chardon.
She was born February 21, 1948, in Columbus, the daughter of Donald M. Huebner of Laurens and the late Florence J. (Roth) Huebner.
Ms. Huebner worked as a chemical engineer in Toledo and was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Laurens. She graduated from Parma High School and attended Cleveland State University.
In addition to her father, she is survived by two brothers, Max A. (Victoria) Huebner of Concord and Eddy E. (Rita) Huebner of North Royalton; two nieces, Jodi L. (Carlos) Marquez and Sandra K. Huebner, both of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; five nephews, Christopher S. (Dawn) Crowell of Springville, N.Y., Eric D. Crowell of Mentor, Shane, Nick and Jonathan Huebner, all of North Royalton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Jerry Rayl officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

UNLAND
Dortha Belle Unland, 82, of Delphos, died at 6:05 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born June 11, 1920, in Allen County, the daughter of the late Ross and Jessie (John) Strayer. On October 27, 1960, she married Orville L. Unland, who passed away June 26, 1998.
Mrs. Unland was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Delphos and the Star Class of the church.
Survivors include a brother, Lyle Strayer of Delphos.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Avonelle Wilson and Madella and Louise Strayer, and six brothers, LaVern, Griffith, Harold, Russell, Robert and Arnold Strayer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos, the Rev. Ronald Lumm officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos.
Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

THOMAS
James A. Thomas, 30, of Mendon, died Monday, April 21, 2003, at St. Rita's SCCI in Lima.
He was born July 31, 1972, in Lima, to Craig and Patty (Berry) Thomas, who both survive.
Mr. Thomas worked for Shawn's Ice Cream.
Other survivors include a brother, John A. Thomas of Mendon.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother and infant sister.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford. Burial will be in Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
JOHNSON
Charles R. "Cy" Johnson, 87, of Van Wert, died at 5:33 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at Lincolnway Nursing Home near Middle Point.
He was born September 21, 1915, in Ridge Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Frank Clifford and E. Orah (Burgner) Johnson. On May 29, 1943, he married Virgil L. Shrider, who died July 21, 1985. In 1987, he married Betty Lou Lininger, who died July 1, 1999.
Mr. Johnson was the former owner-operator of Johnson & Medford Welding in Van Wert. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Van Wert and was 1935 graduate of Ridge High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II and also belonged to Van Wert Post 178 of the American Legion.
Survivors include three stepsons, Bob, Jim and Tom Rhoades, all of Van Wert, and six stepgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Joe Wilck officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point, with graveside military rites conducted by the combined honor guard of Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Wars Post 5803.
Calling hours are from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

KYLE
Virginia E. Missler Kyle, 78, of Van Wert, died at 2:11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born December 17, 1924, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Virgil and Helen (Roop) Gamble. On April 8, 1944, she married Paul Missler, who died September 28, 1987. On April 15, 1989, she married Edwin Kyle, who died May 11, 1992.
Mrs. Kyle was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert. She also belonged to the Van Wert County Farm Bureau and the STIC group of Trinity Friends Church.
Survivors include two sons, Kent Missler of Ohio City and David Missler of Convoy; two daughters, Linda K. Missler of Lima and Kathleen (Richard) Kesler of Van Wert; two brothers, Robert (Carol) Gamble of Ohio City and Max (Linda) Gamble of Van Wert, and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert, the Rev. Neil Hammons officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
