JOHN FOX MANEY

81, of Van Wert, died at 5:12 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2004, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert. He was born February 5, 1923, in Cincinnati, the son of the late John S. and Helen (Fox) Maney. On October 5, 1947, he married Margaret Shaffer, who survives in Van Wert. Mr. Maney was a prominent Van Wert businessman and civic leader and had joined with his father in the operation of Maney's Bootery after he returned home from World War II, and continued its operation until its sale in 1985. He was a member of First United Methodist Church for 80 years and served in many capacities there, including chairman of the Administrative Board and chairman of the Board of Trustees. He was a former member of the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce and served two terms as president of the board, and also was a founder and past president of the Van Wert Downtown Retail Merchants Association. He was a past president of the Van Wert Peony Festival Committee, was one of the three founders of the Centurion Club and was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and participated in the Normandy Invasion and Battle of the Bulge. He was a life member of both American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Dr. J. Kevin (Dr. Dondra) Maney of Westerville, and two grandchildren, J. Spencer Maney of Westerville and Bridget Maney of Oxford. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 4, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military rites by the combined honors units of American Legion Post 178 and VFW Post 5803. Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church.
JUANITA VIRGINIA EBERLE
May 24, 1920 - July 20, 2004
84, of Van Wert, died at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert. She was born May 24, 1920, in Rose Hill, Va., the daughter of the late James G. and Virdie (Taylor) Lee. On October 3, 1942, in Camp Swift, Texas, she married Charles "Chuck" Eberle Sr., who survives in Van Wert. Mrs. Eberle, affectionately known as "granny" to her family and friends, was a homemaker and, during World War II, was a crew leader at the Casad Depot Prisoner of War Camp in New Haven, Ind. She attended the former Grace Church in Middle Point, was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 5803 and American Legion Auxiliary 178, both in Van Wert, the former Readmore ladies bowling team, the 1st Corps Civil War Living History Group of Northwest Ohio and was an avid Bingo player. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Carole Conn of Van Wert; two sons, Charles "Chuck" (Shelly) Eberle of Van Wert and Richard (Clara) Eberle Sr. of Middle Point; one sister, Mary (Harold) Hoffman of Decatur, Ind.; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Herman "Slim" Lee, Charles Richard Lee, Harl W. "Hack" Lee and Roland "Ab" Lee, and three sisters, Martha Belle Lee, Pauline Lopshire and Ruby Akins. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Neil Hammons officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point. Calling hours are 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Friday, July 23, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
LAVERA V. RUSSELL
December 23, 1921 - July 31, 2004
Lavera V. "Vera" Russell, 82, of Van Wert, went home to be with her Lord at 10:25 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born December 23, 1921, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Isaac Jay and Flossie Viola (Mace) Young. On June 7, 1942, she married Warren L. Russell, who died November 19, 1998.
Mrs. Russell worked for many years at the G.C. Murphy Department Store and Downtown Drug Company, both in Van Wert. She attended Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert, where she was an active participant in the Seekers of Light Bible study group.
Survivors include three daughters, Nancy A. Crawford and Barbara (Don) Blackmore, both of Van Wert, and Beverly (Tommy) Willingham of Howell, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Phyllis (William) Marques of Woburn, Mass.; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; seven stepgrandchildren; 22 stepgreat-grandchildren, and six stepgreat-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Luvester, Delmar and Theron Young; one grandchild; one stepgrandchild, and a stepgreat-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Neil Hammons officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mabel A. Kintz
October 25, 1906 - January 03, 2003
96, of Van Wert, died at 11:31 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital. She was born October 25, 1906, in Hoaglin Township in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Perry L. and Ethel (Coil) Brown. On June 22, 1927, she married Eugene G. Kintz, who died January 4, 1979. Mrs. Kintz was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, for which she researched and wrote the church history and her husband provided the pictures. She was also a member of the church Altar Rosary Society, Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Catholic Hour Study Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, Van Wert Woman's Club, Chautauqua Club and Garden Study Club. Survivors include a son, Jack Kintz, of New Haven, Ind.; one daughter, Peg Kimball of Columbus; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters and three sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father Joseph M. Schmelzer officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, where a parish rosary service will be conducted at 7:45 that evening.

LEONARD M. CAMPTON
March 27, 1913 - February 24, 2005
91, of Van Wert, died at 10:25 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2005, at his residence.
He was born March 27, 1913, in Paulding County, the son of the late Thomas and Grace (Stillman) Campton. On June 26, 1948, he married Dorothy L. McCleary, who died September 20, 1995.
Mr. Campton was employed by the former Continental Can Company for 39 years and also farmed. Following his retirement he was employed by Van Wert City Schools in meal delivery for 10 years. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. He also belonged to American Legion Post 178, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1320 and Knights of Columbus Council 6034, all in Van Wert. He graduated from Hoaglin-Jackson High School, where he played basketball.
Survivors include three daughters, Sue (Jerry) Holland of Spencerville and Mary Mason and Kay (Randy) Burley, both of Van Wert; a son, Tom Campton of Florida; one sister, Lucille Albright of Van Wert, and six grandchildren, Brian Beck, Julie Wortman, Andrea Mason, Lea Mason, Liz Burley and Lydia Burley.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Howard Campton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, February 28, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, with military graveside rites performed by the combined honors guards of Legion Post 178 and VFW Post 5803.
Calling hours are 4-9 p.m. Sunday, February 27, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, where a parish wake service will be held at 8:30 that evening.

MARCIA LOUISE FISHER

81, of Van Wert, died at 8:23 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital. She was born January 7, 1922, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late John Willard and Elsie (Fanaff) Sherman. On December 21, 1940, she married Harry E. Fisher, who died August 24, 1988. Mrs. Fisher was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and its Dorcas Circle. Survivors include three sons, Lester (Kaetta) Raker of Winchester, Va., Jerry (Judy) Fisher of Van Wert and David (Mary) Fisher of Cecil; three daughters, Connie (Steven) Sloan of Wauseon, Cathy (Dennis) Dice of Marysville and Brenda (Steve) Harper of Bellevue; a daughter-in-law, Judy Fisher; two brothers, Robert Sherman of Van Wert and Roger Sherman of Walbridge; two sisters, Marcille Krick of Mendon and Maxine Powell of Defiance; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Tom Fisher; one grandchild, and two brothers, Paul Sherman and L.W. "Mutt" Sherman. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 19, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Joachim Wilck officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert. Laura Marie Louagie, 81, of Van Wert, died at 4:50 p.m. Monday, December 06, 2004, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert, Ohio.
She was born December 29, 1922, in Baldwin Indiana, the daughter of Emile and Julia (Deruytter) Louagie.
She was retired after 36 years of employment at Federal Mogul Corp. in Van Wert and was a Member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Church in Van Wert.
She is survived by Mary Alice Louagie (sister) , Marie (Dale) Stripe (sister), Lena (Joe) Miller (sister) Many nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews and great great nieces & nephews and was Preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph Louagie, Richard Louagie, Paul Louagie, and Maurice Louagie, and one sister, Pauline (Victor) Garmyn.
A Mass of Christian Burial 10;30 AM Friday, December 10, 2004 at St. Mary's Of The Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert with Rev. Keith Stripe officiating.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Thursday, December 09,2004 at the funeral home, followed by a Rosary Service.
There will be a meal immediately following the Mass with burial at 2:00 PM in St. Rose Cemetery Monroeville IN.
