MARY ELIZABETH GEARY

90, of Van Wert, died at 2:14 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2004, at Van Wert Manor nursing home in Van Wert. She was born October 5, 1913, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Newton and Sarah (Williams) Jones. On October 1, 1938, in Van Wert, she married Floyd Geary, who died June 3, 1993. Mrs. Geary had worked for the Van Wert County Board of Elections for many years. She also had cared for her mother for many years and was greatly loved by her family. She enjoyed making pies and "bumblebees" for her granddaughter and also was an avid golfer. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert and the Van Wert Women of the Moose organization. Survivors include two daughters, Judith Geary of Van Wert, and Barbara (Alex) Henzel of North Ponfret, Vt.; a sister, Frances Thomas of Midland, Mich.; one granddaughter, Jessica Henzel of Philadelphia, Pa., and several nieces and nephews. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date. There will be no public visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Randall Dean "Zeke" Reichert

Randall Dean "Zeke" Reichert, 51, of Van Wert, died at 1:12 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2004, at his residence.
He was born May 28, 1953, in Van Wert, the son of Christopher H. (Barb) Reichert Sr. and Margie (John) Branch, both of whom survive in Van Wert. On October 14, 1972, he married Catherine Bates, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Reichert retired fro m the former Continental Can and Sonoco Fibre Drum manufacturing plant in Van Wert after 25 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 and American Legion Post 178, both of Van Wert; Van Wert Masonic Lodge and Van Wert Shrine Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era and served in Germany.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by three brothers, Christopher H. Reichert Jr. and Michael (Tracey) Reichert, both of Van Wert, and Dennis Branch of New Bremen; two sisters, Brenda (Garry) Bidlack and Stacy (Brett) Strick, both of Van Wert, and a great-niece, Amanda Hartman, who was being raised by Randall and Catherine in Van Wert.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, November 1, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Father Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, with services by the combined honors units of VFW Post 5803 and Legion Post 178.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Sunday, October 31, at the funeral home, where there will be a parish wake service conducted at 7:45 that evening.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of donor's choice.
Ruby L. Winhover
January 30, 1912 - November 17, 2002
90, of Van Wert, died at 6:38 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 2002, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert. She was born January 30, 1912, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Orrin and Flossie (Mosier) Klinger. On June 3, 1933, she married Cel Winhover, who died September 21, 1983. Mrs. Winhover was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Antwerp, where she was a longtime church organist. Survivors include three nieces, Juanita (Emmit) Lehman, Marsha Klinger and Debbie Klinger; six nephews, Gerald (Esther) Thatcher, Larry Klinger, Robert Klinger, Billie Winhover, Bobbie Winhover, Bryan (Lori) Winhover, and many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister and half-brother. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. James Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point. Calling hours are 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Antwerp or Paulding Visiting Nurses.
Norman Kent Faszler

77,of Van Wert, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died peacefully at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2004. He was born December 13, 1926, in Elizabeth, N.J., the son of the late Fredrick and Deborah (Klopp) Faszler. He married Lavena Krugh and she survives in Van Wert. Mr. Faszler retired from Conrail as a conductor after working on the railroad for 38 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Ingraham. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 and a member of American Legion Post 178, both in Van Wert. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Norman (Kim) Faszler Jr. of Scott; one daughter, Linda (Gale) Linnemeier of Fort Wayne, Ind.; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Faszler. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 5, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, with military graveside rites performed by the combined honors units of VFW Post 5803 and American Legion Post 178. Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Health Professionals or the Van Wert County Council on Aging.
Robert Vaughn Rinard, Jr.

87, of Van Wert died Thursday, January 30, 2003 at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert. He was born, May 29, 1915 in Findlay, Ohio, the son of Robert V. Rinard Sr. and Grace (Barnt) Rinard, both deceased. He married Marcile (Brickner) Rinard of Van Wert on June 06, 1938, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Rinard worked at Central Mutual Insurance Company from 1947 - 1975 when he retired as Vice-President of Automobile Underwriting. In 1977 he was appointed Director of the Van Wert County Welfare Department from which he retired on January 01, 1990.
He was a member of the St. Marys of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert. A graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School, he attended Giffin College. He was a Army Veteran of World War II, having served in the Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Van Wert American Legion Post 178, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 of Van Wert, Disabled American Veterans, Elks Lodge 1197 Van Wert, Knights of Columbus Council 6034 Van Wert. He served as Chairman of the Van Wert County Selective Service Board from 1948 - 1971, Charter Member and Past President of the Van Wert Jaycees, State Trustee of the Ohio Jaycess, Jaycees Boss of the Year in 1958, Past President of the Van Wert Chamber of Commerce in 1963, Campaign Chairman for the American Red Cross, YMCA Membership Drive, and the Van Wert United Fund. He served on Boards for the YMCA, Van Wert County United Health Foundation, Van WErt County Health Services Council, Van Wert County Comprehensive Mental Health Services Inc., 648 Mental Health Mental Retardation Board, Ohio Chamber of Commerce, North West Mental Health Clinic in Lima, Ohio. He was the first President of the Van Wert County Comprehensive Health Planning Council.
He is survived by one son, Alan V. (Beth) Rinard of Columbus, Ohio; and four daughters, Elaine (John) Varalla of Huntington Beach, California, Kahty (Al) Cook of Dublin, Ohio, Linda (Doug) Snyder of College Station, Texas, Debra Rinard of Phoenix, Arizona. Two sisters, Katherine Porter and Betty Hoverman, both of Delphos, Ohio. Grandchildren, Barbara (Rinard) Horvath, Michelle (Rinard) pizzola, Erin (Cook) Niswander, Leah (Cook) Moreno, Tyler Cook, Christopher Snyder, Eric Snyder, Jason Snyder. He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Rinard.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday February 03, 2003 at St. Mary's of The Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, Ohio. Internment will be at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert where Military Graveside Riges will be conducted by the Honors Unit of the Van Wert American Legion Post 178 and Vetereans of Foreign Wars Post 5803.
Visitaion will be held at Brickner Funeral Home on Sunday February 02, 2003 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm & 7:00 - 9:00 pm, where a Parish Vigil Service will be held at 8:45 pm..

99, of Van Wert, died at 1:20 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert. She was born July 01, 1904, in Ridge Township in Van Wert County, the daughter, of the late John and Laurabell (Dolby) Slattery. She married Roger Tossey who died in 1979. Mrs. Tossey had taught school in the Ridge-Lincolnview District, retiring in 1964. She is survived by one sister, Helen (William) Wise of Ohio City, Ohio and 17 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Leo Slattery, three sisters, Grace ( Hillary) Kimmet, Mildred (Doyle) Tribolet, and Pauline (Dale) Jones. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She was also a member of the Van Wert Retired Teachers Association, American Legion Auxillary, and Lamba Delta Omega Society. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, at St. Mary's Of The Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, the Rev. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in Middle Point, Ohio. Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Monday, October 13, at the funeral home, with a Parish Vigil Service at 7:45 p.m.. 46, of Van Wert, died at 3:12 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2003, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Ind. He was born March 21, 1957, in Wiesbaden, Germany, the son of Martha E. Schilling of Van Wert and the late Robert V. Keipper. Mr. Keipper was a member of St. Marys of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of American Legion Post 178 in Van Wert and Vietnam Veterans of America. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Colin (Gladys) Keipper of Norfolk, Va., and Edward Keipper of Van Wert; four sisters, Mary (Dennis) Sandel of Convoy, Vanessa (Mike) Shaver of Logansport, Ind., and Suzie (Tim) Emrick and Laura Mason, both of Van Wert, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Brickner Funeral Home, with Deacon Andrew McMahon officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military services conducted by the combined honors unit of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803. Bill and Ada (Ingram) Alexander. Winifred worked in the food service office at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for a number fo years and retired from Irene Byron Nursing Home in Fort Wayne. She is survived by three sons, Gene (Geneva) Perl, Glen (Gail) Perl, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Gary (Ory) Perl of Convoy, Ohio, and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, William Alexander. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2003 at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Neil Hammons officiating. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, September 14, 2003, 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Internment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. 68 of Van Wert, Ohio died on Monday July 14, 2003 at home. He was born on December 28, 1934 in Van Wert, Ohio to Emmett Lee and Faye (Adams) Felger. He married Gloria I. Schoonover on June 25, 1965, who survives in Van Wert. Other survivors include: three Daughters: Anita (Ronald) Richards of Venedocia Ohio, Jennifer (Jay) Yoh of Van Wert Ohio, Amy (Mike) Garrett of Van Wert Ohio, two Sons: James Felger of Midle Point Ohio, Eric Felger of Anna Ohio. two Grandaughters: Stacie Rhodes and Shellie Rodes of Venedocia, one Grandson: Justin Yoh of Van Wert, one sister: Helen Drocy of Swanton Ohio, three brothers: Junior Felger, Roger Felger, and Danny Fellger, all of Van Wert, He was preceded in death by two Sons: Brent and Brian Felger, oen Sister: Mary Amweg, and four brothers: Kenneth, Carroll, Milo, & Richard Felger. Mr. Felger retired from Kennedy Manufacturing after 30 years of employment. He was a member of U.S. Army Veteran, Avid Bowler, and a member of the Van Wert Bowling Hall of Fame. Services will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2003, 10:30 A.M. at Brickner Funeral Home with the Rev. Neil Hammons officiating.
