PRICHARD
Ruth Pauline Prichard, 86, of Mendon, died at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at The Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
She was born May 29, 1916, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Clement F. and Mary (Crowe) Brown. On January 1, 1941, she married Edwin F. Prichard, who died May 7, 2000.
Mrs. Prichard was a homemaker. She was a member of Mendon United Methodist Church, and also a member of the Celina Order of Eastern Star, formerly Mendon. She was a graduate of York High School. She served as 4-H adviser for the York Duchess Club of Van Wert County. She was a member of the Board of the YWCA in Van Wert and was involved with the Friends of Mendon Library, serving as treasurer.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann (Rodney) Dudgeon of Venedocia and Sharon (Joseph) Snayd of Dallas, Texas, and two grandchildren, Wesley (Amanda) Dudgeon of Columbia, S.C., and Kathryn Dudgeon of Canton.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James L. Brown and twin brother Ralph Brown, and three sisters, Dorothy L. Gamble, Lorita L. Lynch and Lucille Brown.
Graveside services will be held in Mendon Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, with the Rev. Dr. Paul Bunnell of Mendon United Methodist Church officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials are to the Mendon United Methodist Church or the M.S. Society.
W. H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home in Celina is handling arrangements.

BRICKER
Russell E. "Gene" Bricker, 79, of rural Celina, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at Lifecare Hospital in Miamisburg.
He was born September 6, 1923, in North Findlay, the son of the late Ross R. and Lucy (Baucher) Bricker. On August 8, 1947, he married Ruth Bauders, who survives at home.
Mr. Bricker retired in 1980 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in St. Marys with 39 years of service. He was a member of Hamilton-Bethel United Methodist Church and served as a trustee of the church. He was also a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Engineer Corps with Company B, 831st Eng. Avn. Bn.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Richard A. (Beth) Bricker of Celina and James E. (Connie) Bricker of Oxford; one sister, Marjorie Bricker of Mendon, and four grandchildren, Emily Bricker, Erin Bricker, Shon (Amy) Doseck and Christopher Doseck.
He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Sylvia Bricker; a sister, Ruth Pauline Bricker, who died in infancy, and a granddaughter, Heather Bricker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home in Celina, the Rev. Dr. Paul Bunnell officiating. Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery.
Calling hours are noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Bricker to Hamilton-Bricker United Methodist Church.

MOSIER
Ernest E. Mosier, 84, of Van Wert, died at 1:48 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born May 10, 1918, in Jackson Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Lemuel and Myrtle (Dunlap) Mosier. On June 26, 1946, he married Ida M. Myers, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Mosier retired in 1981 after 35 years at Borden’s Cheese Co. in Van Wert. He was associated with North Union United Methodist Church in Van Wert. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II in the European Theatre and British West Indies. He was a member of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert.
Survivors include a son: Donald E. (Susan) Mosier of Convoy; four daughters, Paulette (Ron) Ross of Fort Wayne, Ind; Joan (Ron) Rank of Van Wert; Susan (Mike) McClure of Convoy; and Connie (Mike) Hart of Scott; a brother, Lemuel (Carol) Mosier Jr. of Van Wert; three sisters, Margaret Clay, Frances Sherrick and Emmagene Anderson, all of Van Wert; 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Everett, Rolland, Lawrence and Harold Mosier, and a sister, Berniece Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, the Rev. James Howell and the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point, with graveside military rites providd by the combined honor guards of the Van Wert American Legion and VFW posts.
Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Mosier to North Union United Methodist Church or the Scott EMS.

MOORE
Jesse Carlan Moore, 89, of Celina and formerly of Fort Recovery, died at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at the Gardens at Celina.
He was born August 14, 1913, in Potsdam (Miami County), the son of the late Jesse Irving and Mattie D. (Spade) Moore. He married Margaret Hunley on October 7, 1945, and she died on June 14, 1968. He married Pauline Ingle Kugel on February 20, 1971, and she died September 7, 1978.
Mr. Moore was a tool-and-die maker and an inventor, holding over 20 U.S. patents. He attended Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert and was associated with the Fort Recovery United Methodist Church. A graduate of Troy High School, he attended Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, Ill. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and he also did short-term missionary work for the WYCLIFFE Bible Translators in Waxhaw, N.C.
Survivors include two sons, Stanley Craig (Linda) Moore of Fletcher, N.C., and Joseph Howard Moore of San Francisco, Calif.; a daughter, Mary Hope Funkhouser of Pawleys Island, S.C.; two brothers, Ray H. Moore and Gerald H. Moore; one sister, Pauline Alexander; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Preceding him in death were three sisters, Ruth Reynolds, Doris Wright and Betty Ummel; and four brothers, Robert K. Moore, Dale Moore, Cecil Moore and Leonard Moore.
Graveside services will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery in Fort Recovery at a later date, with the Rev. W. Clark Williman of Calvary Evangelical Church officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Moore to the WYCLIFFE Bible Translators.

CARDER
Donald J. Carder, 78, of Delphos, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center.
He was born December 19, 1924, in Van Wert, the son of the late Frank and Elsie (Blockberger) Carder. He married Lucille K. Hofstetter, who survives.
Mr. Carder was a production supervisor at Central Soya Corp. and retired after 29 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos. He was a life member of Van Wert Disabled American Veterans, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3035 in Delphos, belonged to American Legion Post 191 in Spencerville, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 47 and was a volunteer at the Grand Lake St. Marys State Park campground. He was an avid camper.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Robert (Toni) Carder of Boca Raton, Fla., and Paul Carder, Dale (Denise "Bunny") Carder and Larry (Mary) Carder, all of Delphos; three daughters, Diane Carder and Sue (David) McNeal, both of Delphos, and Mary (Robert) Jackson of Oak Creek, Wis.; three brothers, Orville "Bud" (Clara) Carder and Delbert (Martha) Carder, both of Delphos, and Richard (Joann) Carder of Ottoville; four sisters, Amelia Bullinger of Fort Jennings, Lois (Wilfred) Osting of Delphos and Mary Lou (Rollin) Bullinger and Jeanette (Donald) Mesker, both of Delphos, and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtle Brotherwood and Colleen Carder.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 5-8 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Harter & Son Funeral Home in Delphos, where a VFW service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday and a parish wake service at 7:30 that evening.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Carder to St. Rita's Hospice or the American Heart Association.

TURNER
Virgil Roy Turner, 83, of Celina, died at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2003, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
He was born July 25, 1919, in Mercer County. He first married Kathleen Hazel Price, who preceded him in death. He then married Ruth Ida (Hamilton) Houts on December 16, 1989, and she survives in Celina.
Mr. Turner was an engineer for Martin-Marietta in California and Middletown. He was a member of First Church of God in Celina and a 1937 graduate of Mendon-Union High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert N. (Sharon) Turner of Alamogordo, N.M.; one brother, Walter Turner of Florida, and a grandson, Michael Turner of Ontario, Calif.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lucy J. Turner, who died May 16, 2002.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Church of God in Celina, the Rev. Richard VanHorn and Pastor Bruce Strine officiating. Burial will be in Deerfield Cemetery in Malta, where graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 28.
Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Sunday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Turner to the American Cancer Society.

MUNTZINGER
Lorenz R. Muntzinger, 92, formerly of 203 N. Cherry St., died at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
He was born February 4, 1911, in Harrison Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late William and Alwine (Stamm) Muntzinger.
Mr. Muntzinger was retired from Continental Can Company (Greif Bros.). He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Convoy and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.
Survivors include one sister, Erma (Howard) Lake of Kendallville, Ind.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Jacob Muntzinger and Martin Muntzinger, and two sisters, Luella Frane and Trina Muntzinger (in infancy).
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Convoy, the Rev. Mike Saylor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Cowan & Son Stainfield Memorial Home in Convoy and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Muntzinger to the church.
