WILSON
Donna F. Wilson, 88, of Van Wert, died at 5:05 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2003, at Convoy Care Center.
She was born August 14, 1915, in Latty, the daughter of the late John A. and Gertrude E. (Gant) Rhoad. On October 24, 1936, she married John Woodrow Wilson, who died in 1973.
Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Van Wert. Prior to Trinity UM church, she was a member of the former Union Center United Methodist Church in Van Wert County. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of both churches and was also a member of the Union Center Township Improvement Club.
Survivors include two sons, Donald R. (Madge) Wilson of Convoy and Larry G. (Christi) Wilson of Evansville, Ind.; a daughter, Linda J. (James) Willeford of New Weston; two brothers, John Rhoad of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Eugene (Mary) Rhoad of Haviland; one sister, Arlene Tyas of Van Wert; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Gearhart, Mack & Jurczyck Funeral Home in Convoy, the Rev. Timothy Burden officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

GREW
Isabelle V. Grew, 72, of Van Wert, died at 11:25 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2003, at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home.
She was born February 15, 1931, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of the late William Adair and Alice (Johnson) Adair-Laux. On September 9, 1951, in Brooklyn, she married Clair C. Grew, who survives.
Mrs. Grew worked at New York Life Insurance Co. in New York City and later was a receptionist for Dr. Robert Laing, DDS, in Van Wert. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Van Wert.
In addition to her husband, she was survived by two sons, Gary (Pamela) Grew of New Knoxville and Michael (Jane) Grew of Van Wert; a daughter, Laura Sanderson of Van Wert; one brother, William (Rose) Adair of Rome, N.Y., and seven grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 7:45 p.m. that day.

GARLOCK
Edward E. Garlock, 74, of Fort Jennings, died at 11:45 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2003, at his residence.
He was born February 5, 1929, in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late Lester and Pat (Ruthkowski) Garlock. On May 28, 1949, he married Jean Weaver, who survives.
Mr. Garlock retired as a traffic manager for General Motors. He was a lifetime member of the Saginaw Valley Traffic Club and was past president in 1984. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville and enjoyed fishing, mowing grass and taking his break.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael Garlock of Florida and Edward T. (Tanya) Garlock of Ohio; five daughters, Diane (Ken) Bendele of Ottoville, Judy (Hugh) Hughes of Michigan, Jean (Marty) Rhodes of North Carolina, Tracey Garlock of Cloverdale and Janet (Dan) Kwaiser of Michigan; 18 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Garlock; one sister, Pat Rosol, and a grandson, Nathan Bendele.
Funeral services will be be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Harter & Son Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. that day.

HOLLAND
G. Milford Holland, 83, of Van Wert, died at 2 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2003, at Lincolnway Home in Ridge Township.
He was born January 29, 1920, in Van Wert, the son of the late John C. and Rose A. (Berger) Holland.
Mr. Holland retired from the former Continental Can Company after 42 years of employment. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, where he had been an usher for many years. He was a 1938 graduate of the former Ridge High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He belonged to American Legion Post 178 in Van Wert.
Survivors include a sister, Margaret Holland of Van Wert; seven nephews, James Holland of Van Wert, Lee Holland of Chester, Va., Clifford Holland of Anadale, N.J., Richard Pobjecky of Titusville, Fla., David Pobjecky of Auburndale, Fla., Robert Pobjecky of Winterhaven, Fla., and Thomas Pobjecky of Tallahassee, Fla.; two nieces, Sharon Owens of Marion and Ann Sivills of Winterhaven, Fla., and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Pobjecky, and three brothers, John E. Holland, Harold L. Holland and Richard K. Holland.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, with graveside military services conducted by the combined Honors Unit of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803.
Calling hours are from 2-4 and 6-8 at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.

FLAGG
John F. Flagg Jr., 76, of 2439 Dull Robinson Road, died at 9:47 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born July 5, 1927, in Grand Rapids, Mich., the son of the late John F. and Lila (Sweet) Flagg. On December 5, 1973, he married Donna L. Figert, who survives at home.
Mr. Flagg was an electrician with the former International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 107 in Grand Rapids, Mich., for 40 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and had also served in the Merchant Marine and Coast Guard. He was a member of American Legion Post 247 in Grand Rapids and belonged to the Wassenberg Camera Club in Van Wert.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Judy Klunejko and Michele D. Flagg, both of Grand Rapids, and Sherry K. Bouwman of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two stepsons, Tim (April) Miller of Payne and Marvin K. Miller of Zanesville; two stepdaughters, Gwen (Gary) Johnson of Rochester, Mich., and Penny J. Dillinger of Ossian, Ind.; a brother, Fred (Chyoko) Flagg of Seattle, Wash.; one sister, Loraine Flagg of Lansing, Mich.; 15 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gearhart, Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy, the Rev. Bud Walls officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Vincent Cemtery in Paulding County, with military graveside services conducted by the combined Honors Unit of American Legion 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 in Van Wert.
Calling hours are from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

McCLURE
Grace Anna McClure was stillborn at Van Wert County Hospital on August 2, 2003.
Survivors include her parents, Lucas C. and Jennifer J. (Gamble) McClure of Van Wert; maternal grandparents, Donald and Alice Gamble of Van Wert; paternal grandmother, Carla Speelman of Van Wert; maternal great-grandparents, Leonard and Donna Maloney of Delphos; maternal great-grandparents, Doyt and Barbara Gamble of Lima; paternal great-grandparents, Carl and Rosalyn Speelman of Van Wert, and her maternal great-great-grandmother, Margaret Eilerman of Van Wert.
Private family services were conducted, with the Rev. Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point.
Arrangements were made by Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert.
TOMLINSON
Carl E. Tomlinson, 90, of 7048 Wolfcale Road, Van Wert, died at 5:55 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
He was born February 16, 1913, in Van Wert County, the son of the late Clarence A. and May (Poling) Tomlinson. On September 12, 1936, he married Katherine Giessler, who died July 24, 2001.
Mr. Tomlinson retired as vice president-treasurer and director of Central Mutual and All America Insurance Companies, working with the company for 47 years. He also was the treasurer and director of Central America Finance Company. During that period, he served on various state and national insurance committees. Carl also served as a 29-year director of what is now Community First Bank & Trust in Van Wert, and as board chairman for several years. He also served as director, president and co-chairman of the annual fund drive of the Van Wert County United Fund. He was also a trustee of the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce and also served as chairman of its Ways and Means Committee. He was a trustee and chairman of the Van Wert County Hospital Board of Trustees and also served as interim administrator of the hospital. As a member of Van Wert Rotary Club, he served as a trustee as its president and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a member of the County Farm Bureau and was a member of the Grange for more than 50 years. For several years he served as a deputy master of the Ohio State Grange. He and his wife were co-leaders of two tips to the Holy Land. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Harrison Township and served as a choir member, church school teacher and superintendent and a member of the men's fellowship. Carl also served as a deacon, an elder and president of the church council.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Schroeder of Defiance and Eleanor E. (David) Focht of Allentown, Pa.; five grandchildren, Karl Schroeder, Paul Schroeder, Julie Brown, Eric Focht and Brian Focht, and seven great-grandchildren, Keely, Ryan, Ty, Kelsey and Rachel Schroeder and Brittany and Alyssa Focht.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 31, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Harrison Township, the Rev. Jerry Flueckiger officiating. A private family burial will be held in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are noon-1 p.m. Sunday at the church.
