RENNER
Hope Grace Renner, 2 months, died at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born October 9, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital, the daughter of Brian R. and Stephanie M. (Kill) Renner of Van Wert.
Other survivors include paternal grandparents Robert R. and Louise (Klaus) Renner of rural Van Wert; maternal grandparents Ronald V. and Carol S. (Gehres) Kill of rural Van Wert, and great-grandparents Richard and Alice (Kreischer) of rural Ohio City and Richard and Imelda Renner of Delphos.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 12, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in rural Van Wert County, the Rev. Kenyon Kaehr and Rev. Ronald D. Fruth officiating. Burial will be in Evangelical Protestant Cemetery in Harrison Township, Van Wert County.
Calling hours are two hours prior to services on Friday at the church.
Memorials on behalf of Hope can be made to Hope House of Lutheran Children's Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Arrangements were handled by Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert.

AGLER
Joseph W. Agler, 81, of Van Wert, died at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born December 23, 1921, in Van Wert, the son of the late George and Sarah (Rickard) Agler. On January 22, 1949, he married Betty L. Long, who survives at home.
Mr. Agler was a former production employee at Continental Forest Industries who retired February 1, 1984, after 37 years of service. He was a lifetime member of Wesley United Methodist Church and served in various positions in the church, including troop committee chairman and scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 55. He was a Second Ward Van Wert City Councilman from 1954-1958. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and participated in battles in northern France, the Rhineland and central Europe with the 26th Division, 104th Infantry Regiment and ended with the rank of technical sergeant. He was a prisoner of war for six months. He was a life member of both Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 in Van Wert and American Legion Post 346 in Ohio City and was a member of Chapter 54, Disabled American Veterans. He also was a life member of Northwest Central Chapter 7 of the National American Ex-POW group.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Ronnie J. (Kathy) Agler and Jerry E. (Robin) Agler, both of Van Wert; a daughter, Pam (Steve) McCollum of Van Wert; seven grandchildren, Amy Rice, Adam Agler, Jason Agler, Kim Brown, April McCollum, Scott McCollum and Gabe McConn, and five great-grandchildren, Rich Klinger, Brooke Brown, Daisy McCollum, Dariah Rice and Paeton Rice.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, Cloise, Lowe, Clarence, William, Albert and John Agler, and one sister, Elizabeth Zinsmeister.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2003, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Van Wert, the Rev. Doug Stockton officiating, assisted by Rev. Paul Miller. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with military graveside services conducted by American Legion Post 346 in Ohio City.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 12, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Agler to a charity of donor's choice.

STAHL
Helen Juanita Stahl, 83, of Dayton, died at 6:36 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2003, at Shilo Springs Care Center in Dayton.
She was born December 22, 1919, in Rockford, the daughter of the late Russell LeRoy and Edna Garnet (Weagly) Huffman. She married Clyde E. Stahl, who died in 1970.
Mrs. Stahl was a homemaker and was affiliated with Trinity Lutheran Church in Dayton.
Survivors include a son, Clyde Ellsworth Stahl Jr. of Springfield; three sisters, Lela Brown of Greenville, Paula (Joe) Radin of Salem and Judy (Tom) Masters of Dayton; one brother, Russel L. Huffman Jr. of Union City, Mich.; two sisters, Anna Mary Masters of Willis, Texas, and Betty (William) Nycum of Hoaglin, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lela Monroe.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Calling hours are 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mrs. Stahl to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

BURNETT
Martha B. Burnett, 83, of 1014 Linden Drive, died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2003, at her daughter's residence.
She was born December 11, 1919, in Convoy, the daughter of the late Joseph and Carrie (Pyle) Horine. On January 31, 1948, she married Mathew Max Burnett, who died January 6, 1999.
Mrs. Burnett retired in 1982 after 17 years at Kennedy Manufacturing Company in Van Wert. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert, the Kennedy Kit Retired Ladies Club and the Women's Circle of the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include a son, Ronald M. (Joyce) Burnett of Lima; one daughter, Julie A. (Robert) Gamble of Van Wert; two sisters, Mary (Wayne) Compton and Ruth Horine, both of Van Wert; four sisters-in-law, Rose Ann Horine, Ruth Mosier and Freda (Dr. Fred) Culler, all of Van Wert, and Alice Burnett of St. Marys; six grandchildren, Jennifer Gamble, Rob Gamble, Jill Gamble, Sarah Burnett, Eve Burnett and Katie Worstein, and two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Olivia Perez.
She was preceded in death by a brother, David Horine, and one sister, Edna Phillips.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Dr. James C. Dunaway officiating. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery in Converse.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Burnett's name to the Food Bank of First United Methodist Church or the Angel Foundation of Community Health Professionals.

BARNETT
Robert F. Barnett, 66, of 623 Temple St., died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2003, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Cleveland.
He was born March 27, 1936, in Wheeling, W.Va., the son of the late William Joseph and Bessie Mae (Wilson) Barnett. On September 4, 1971, he married Nancy L. Schnepp, who survives at home.
Mr. Barnett was a painter and retired from Alexander & Bebout. He attended Van Wert Victory Church and was a member of American Legion Post 178 in Van Wert and Van Wert Eagles Aerie 886. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Clarence Edward Barnett of Van Wert, Larry Kemp of Ohio and Bobbie Barnett of West Virginia; two daughters, Carol Barnett of Wheeling, W.Va., and Denise Barnett of Texas.; a stepdaughter, Carol Ann Leppard of Van Wert; two stepsons, Jaydee Thompson of Bellefontaine and Paul Ray Thompson of Van Wert; a brother, Clarence Barnett of Florida; 12 grandchildren, and five stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Darryl Ramey officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Friday and an hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Barnett to the American Cancer Society.

JOHNSON
Billy G. Johnson, 57, of rural Willshire, died Friday morning, February 14, 2003, at his residence.
He was born March 9, 1945, in Terre Haute, Ind., the son of Carl and Helen (Julian) Johnson of Jasonville, Ind. On September 26, 1967, he married Mary C. Burger, who survives at home.
Mr. Johnson was employed at Varco-Pruden in Van Wert as a maintenance mechanic. He was a member of Mt. Zion Bible Church near Rockford and a 1964 graduate of Shakamak High School in Jasonville. He also attended Indiana State University for a year.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he is survived by two sons, Tony (Christine) Johnson of Continental and Daniel (Misty) Johnson of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Rebecca Johnson, at home; one brother, Don Johnson of Oklahoma; four sisters, Nancy (Jim) Davis of Pennsylvania, Mary Jean (Gary) Delong of Terre Haute, Barbara (Brad) West of Coalmont, Ind., and Patricia Green of Jasonville, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Allen Johnson, who died January 18, 2003.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor David Layton officiating. Burial will be in Willshire Cemetery.
Calling hours are 10 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Johnson to Mt. Zion Bible Church.

DIEGEL
Dorothy M. (McNew) Diegel, 79, of Delphos, died at 11:15 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2003, at her residence.
She was born June 18, 1923, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late George and Stella Mae (Emans) Height. On July 23, 1944, she married Raymond McNew, who preceded her in death on February 15, 1986. She then married John Diegel on December 24, 1993. He survives in Delphos.
Mrs. Diegel was a homemaker and a member of First Friends Church in Van Wert.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Maggie McNew of Van Wert; a stepson, Monty (Bert) Diegel of Celina; two brothers, Ted (Janette) Height and Elvin (Erma) Height, both of Van Wert, and two stepgrandchildren, Tyson Diegel and Randy Diegel.
She was preceded in death by nine brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Job Stagner officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mrs. Diegel to the First Friends Church Benevolent Fund.
