JOSEPH
Kathryn Mohr Joseph, 53, of 1317 Leeson Ave., died at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born February 13, 1949, in Van Wert, the ddaughter of Dores (Turner) Hart of Van Wert and the late John E. Mohr. On March 29, 1969, she married Larry R. Joseph, who survives.
Mrs. Joseph owned and operated Ohio Foam Novelties of Lima. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Van Wert and the church's Altar Guild, Wassenberg Art Center and Lima Chamber of Commerce. She was a former member of the Twigs and Van Wert Woman's Club and was a 4-H advisor for many years.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Nathan (Deirdre) Joseph of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; one daughter, Abigail (Rodney) Price of Van Wert; two brothers, Tom Mohr of Utah and Jim (Rhonda) Mohr of Van Wert; four sisters, Linda Buchheit of Philadelphia, Pa., Jeanne (Tim) Crafton of Phoenix, Ariz., Chris Welker of Venedocia and Suzi (Jim) McCracken of Washington Court House, and three grandchildren, Tobin, Samuel and Elizabeth.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Mohr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Van Wert, the Rev. Joe Wilck officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army in Van Wert.
WALLIS
Elton E. Wallis, 78, of 8890 Ohio 49, Convoy, died Wednesday morning, January 1, 2003, at his residence.
He was born August 2, 1924, in Van Wert County, the son of the late Charles Emery and Nila (Robinson) Wallis. On September 5, 1944, in Gulf Port, Miss., he married Erma Oechsle, who survives.
Mr. Wallis was a lifetime farmer and retired as postmaster of the Convoy Post Office after 24 years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in rural Van Wert County and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Convoy American Legion post and a former member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert (Diana) Wallis and David (Kim) Wallis, both of Convoy; a daughter, Peggy Sue Wallis of Convoy; one sister, Eileen (Robert) Dailey of Convoy; 15 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gearhart, Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside services by the Convoy American Legion post.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

MORGAN
Mary Edna Morgan, 95, of Van Wert and formerly of Venedocia, died at 3 a.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born November 25, 1907, in York Township, the daughter of the late David D. and Mary E (Reese) Jones. On February 23, 1928, she married T. Carl Morgan, who died in April 1966.
Mrs. Morgan was a homemaker and worked at Borden's Foods until 1957. She also owned and operated Sandman Babysitting Services in Sarasota, Fla., after retiring. She was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church in Venedocia and attended Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert. She graduated from York High School in 1926.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna (Noah) Robeson of Van Wert; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert A. Morgan; four sisters, Treva Wheeler, Ieon George, Kathryne Wells and Margaret Davies Wilson; a brother, Daniel Jones, a one great-grandson, Karl Andrew Kennedy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos, the Rev. Neil Hammons officiating. Burial will be in Horeb Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

WERMER
Juanita M. Wermer, 88, of 322 Anderson St., died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born March 17, 1914, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Alfred and Ethel (Shaw) Robeson. On September 4, 1954, she married Glenn E. Wermer, who survives in Van Wert.
Mrs. Wermer formerly worked for The Marsh Foundation and for many years at Continental Can Company, both in Van Wert. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Van Wert.
In addition to her husband, she was survived by two sisters, Marie (Bernard) Miller of Van Wert and Kathryn Atkison of Napoleon.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Ronald Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Calling hours are noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
EVANS
Ruth E. Evans, 77, of 15137 Main St., Venedocia, died at 4:22 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born January 2, 1925, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Alma (Evans) Williams. On January 2, 1949, in Venedocia, she married David Hugh Evans, who survives in Venedocia.
Mrs. Evans was a homemaker and a member of Salem Presbyterian Church in Venedocia. She was a member of the Alpha Kappa Sunday School class and a member of the Women's Association of the church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Thomas W. (Bonnie) Evans of Venedocia; one daughter, Claudia LeValley of Van Wert; a sister, Dorothy (David) Allen of Melbourne, Fla.; three grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jennie Evans of Venedocia and Derek (Amy) LeValley of Killeen, Texas, and two great-grandchildren, Juniper and Corrigan LeValley of Killeen.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in Venedocia Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Presbyterian Church in Venedocia.

SHRIDER
Richard G. Shrider, 74, of Rockford, died at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert, where he had been a patient.
He was born April 21, 1928, in Sylvania, the son of the late Kenneth R. and Helen (Kerns) Shrider.
Mr. Shrider was retired from Huffy's in Celina. He was a U.S. Army veteran and loved most of his life in the Rockford area. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rockford, the United States Trotting Association and the Mercer County Horsemen Association for the past 30 years.
Survivors include three sons, Dudley (Charlotte) Shrider of Napoleon, Mike (Kathy) Shrider of Rockford and Jeff (Sue) Shrider of Mendon; two sisters, Lillian (Bill) Scantlen of Perrysburg and Jean Doyle of West Palm Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Mike Berne officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and an hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.

BAGLEY
Forrest Glenn Bagley, 83, of 775 Maplewood Drive, died at 9:55 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
He was born March 30, 1919, in Pleasant Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late John S. and Josephine (Harberger) Bagley. On September 18, 1940, he married O. Virginia Kanney, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Bagley retired from Weatherhead Corp. in Fort Wayne, Ind., on June 1, 1981, and was formerly a part owner of Bagley Builders Supply. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Karen S. (Kenny) McClain of Ohio City and Connie J. (Ronald) Walters of Van Wert; a sister, Ada L. Stemen of Van Wert; three grandchildren, Ty McClain, Lisa Agler and Lori Agler, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen G. Bagley; six brothers, Fenton L., John V., Ernest V., Gern A., Clyde S. and Floyd E. Bagley, and one sister, Edith Childres.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are from 4-7 p.m. Monday and a half-hour prior to services on Tuesday.
