PANGLE
Luella "Ann" Pangle, 66, of 215 S. Chestnut St., died at 11:01 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born March 23, 1937, in Ohio City, the daughter of the late Jesse Clark and Margaret Lucille (Hart) Mottinger.
Ms. Pangle had worked at Kennedy Manufacturing and retired from MacDonald Industries in Spencerville. She was a 1955 graduate of Van Wert High School and was a "loving and devoted mother and grandmother."
Survivors include a son, Jason (Mandy) Pangle of Van Wert; three daughters, Fran Wood, Fauna (Harold) Callahan and Faith (Jimmy) Wallace, all of Van Wert; one brother, Richard C. (Betty) Mottinger of Ohio City; 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
she was preceded in death by four sisters, Lillian Mottinger, Betty Smith, Mary Stoll and Pauline Davidson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor David Ray of Jennings Road Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Mohr Cemetery in Hoaglin Township.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Sunday and an hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.

NOW
Jack O. Now, 77, of Rockford, died at 5:12 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Springview Nursing Home in Lima.
He was born September 26, 1925, in Mishawaka, Ind., the son of the late Jay and Thelma (Siler) Now. On May 30, 1953, he married Joann Hays, who preceded him in death on May 10, 1996.
Mr. Now retired from Shane Hill Nursing Home and was a member of Mercer United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713 in Celina and was a member of the West Central Ohio Kidney Foundation. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include three daughters, Rozann (Bob) Maurer of Mercer, Anita (Dan) Edwards of Lima and Judy Now of Corona, Calif.; a brother, William Now of Rockford; one sister, Shirley Roebuck of Celina, and five grandchildren, Megan and Melanie Maurer and Andrew, Seth and Ryan Edwards.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Sweigert.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mercer United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Baker officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Friday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

FOUST
Mabel Etzler Foust, 95, formerly of Convoy and Van Wert, died at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born July 25, 1908, in Tully Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late John W. and Effie M. (Terry) Shutt. On January 25, 1930, she married Carl H. Etzler, who died April 30, 1955. She then married James E. Foust on November 18, 1958, and he died January 27, 1974. She was also preceded in death by a son, Donald W. Etzler, who died January 27, 1994.
Mrs. Foust was a homemaker and a former member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church since 1986.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, LaDonna Etzler of Convoy; two brothers, Donald W. Shutt of Convoy and Gaylord W. (Velma) Shutt of Van Wert; a stepson, Carl M. (Betty) Foust of rural Van Wert; three stepdaughters, Ruth Kimberlin of Sturgis, Mich., Eloise Rolsten of Convoy and Marilyn (William) McCracken of Van Wert; four grandchildren, Carl W. (Jean) Etzler of Ohio City, Shelly (Roger) Miller of Convoy; Douglas (Debbie) Linton of Sumter, S.C., and Phillip (Kim) Linton of Ewing, Va.; 12 great-grandchildren, and many stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Lorene Oberlitner, and a sister, Charlotte F. Etzler, who died August 28, 1997.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Convoy, the Rev. Janice A. Berthinee officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.
Calling hours are 7-9 p.m. Friday at Cowan & Son-Stainfield Memorial Home in Convoy and an hour prior to services at the church.

ODENWELLER
Linda L. Odenweller, 60, of Delphos, died at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born April 3, 1943, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late William Dean and Alice L. (Mohler) Rice. On May 17, 2003, she married Joseph D. Odenweller, who survives at home.
Mrs. Odenweller had worked at Eaton Corporation in Van Wert for 18 years and had earlier worked for Central Mutual Insurance Company and Mersman Brothers in Celina. She was a member of Ohio City Church of God and attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos. She was a 1961 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School, was a member of Glass Society Corvette Association and a member of the Northwest Ohio Garden and Pond Society.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Danny Plasterer and George Clark, both of Toledo; a daughter, Cheryl L. (Paul) Rutledge of Risingsun; four stepsons, Bruce (Jodi) Odenweller, Daryl Odenweller, Ryan Odenweller and Brent Odenweller, all of Delphos; three brothers, Charles D. Rice, Rodger D. (Barbara) Rice and Gary L. (Phyllis) Rice, all of Ohio City; two sisters, Ruth (James) Hill of Van Wert and Barbara (Kenneth) Hill of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three sisters-in-law, Elaine (Jim) Hogan of Curtice, Ellen (Jim) Gordon of Delphos and Ann Odenweller of Baton Rouge, La.; two brothers-in-law, Jerry (Sally) Bolenbaugh of Rockford and Don Jent of Ohio City; many nieces and nephews; two grandchildren, Grant and Adam Rutledge of Risingsun, and two stepgrandchildren, Ian and Lindsay Odenweller.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Jay Rice, and two sisters, Marilyn Bolenbaugh and Joyce A. Jent.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Brad Adams and Pastor Paul Rutledge officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Cemetery in Delphos.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

VANMETRE
Joan G. VanMetre, 73, of 301 South Ave., died at 11:10 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born November 23, 1929, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude (Taube) Cusmano.
Ms. VanMetre worked as a dispatcher for the Ohio State Highway Patrol post in Van Wert for 24 years. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert and belonged to the Van Wert American Legion Auxiliary and the Van Wert Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth (Lisa) Bridgman of Van Wert and Gordon S. (Cindy) VanMetre of Kent; three daughters, Karen Bridgman of Van Wert, Debra (Jack) Harmon of Rushville, Ind., and Susan Leiendecker of Venedocia; 10 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerome Cusmano.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

BILIMEK
Cynthia A. Bilimek, 51, of Van Wert, died at 11:06 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born March 10, 1952, in Lima, the daughter of Lee Kinstle of Van Wert and the late Betty M. (Hedrick) Kinstle. On April 8, 1993, she married C. James Bilimek, who survives in Van Wert.
Mrs. Bilimek was a homemaker. She graduated in the Class of 1971 at Wapakoneta High School and is a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert.
In addition to her father and husband, she is survived by four daughters, Emily M. Agler, Nikki L. Agler, Brittany E. Agler and Shelbi E. Bilimek, all of Van Wert; a sister, Diana "De De" (Larry) Greve of Van Wert; a granddaughter, Bailee G. Wallace of Van Wert; four nephews, Brian Greve and Brad Greve, both of Van Wert, Scott Greve of Wapakoneta and Matt Greve of Cincinnati; four great-nephews, and a great-niece.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, where a parish wake service will be held at 8:45 p.m. Monday.

SPONSELLER
Mary A. Sponseller, 95, of Payne, died at 6:50 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Paulding County Hospital in Paulding.
She was born November 23, 1907, in Monroeville, Ind., the daughter of the late Homer and Minnie (Geyer) Casselman. She married Harold R. Sponseller, who died in 1993.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Payne.
Survivors include a son, James M. Sponseller of Payne; four grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Payne, the Rev. Amy L. Haines officiating. Burial will be in Wiltsie Cemetery in Payne.
Calling hours are after 4 p.m. Sunday at Slade Funeral Home in Payne.
