SHRIVER
Nancy L. Shriver, 68, of 704 High St., died at 11:21 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born December 14, 1934, in Convoy, the daughter of the late Hy and Marie (McNew) Davis. On June 21, 1953, she married Donn C. Shriver, who survives at home.
Mrs. Shriver was a homemaker and had formerly been a nurse's aide at the old VanRue Hospital in Van Wert and had also been a floral designer at the Van Wert Greenhouse. She was a leader in the WSCS, a member of Wassenberg Art Center in Van Wert and was active in Scouting and was a 4-H leader. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Van Wert.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Samuel D. (Lori) Shriver of Van Wert and Daniel A. Shriver of Los Angeles, Calif.; one sister, Janet (James) Bell of Harlan, Ind., and a half-sister, Margaret McNew of Van Wert.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Paul Miller officiating.
Calling hours are 1-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

KERMAN
Richard Henry Kerman, 90, died at St. Rita's Medical Center on Saturday, March 1, 2003.
He was born December 28, 1912, in Napoleon, the son of the late Ray Orville and Maude Della (Lenhart) Kerman. He was united in marriage with Amanda Bertha Stemen, who preceded him in death on November 13, 1991.
Mr. Kerman was a tool and die maker for Sheller Globe Corporation (Superior Coach). He was a member of Salem Mennonite Church in Elida and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include a son, Richard Ray Kerman of Elida, and a sister, Rosemary Kanter of Wapakoneta.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Salem Mennonite Church in Elida, with Pastor Mel Hathaway officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Harter & Son Funeral Home in Delphos.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mr. Kerman to a charity of donor's choice.
SAUM
Barbara Ann (Resor) Saum, 84, of Van Wert, passed from the loving arms of her family into the arms of the Lord on March 10, 2003, at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
She was born July 5, 1918, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Mina (Blank) and William Resor. On June 12, 1936, she married Gordon A. McMillen, who preceded her in death, and on February 14, 1964, married Willis Saum, who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Saum was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, camping, quilting, baking and needlecrafts. She had been employed at Van Wert Manufacturing Co., the Sears, Roebuck & Company catalog store and The Marsh Foundation. She was a 1936 graduate of Van Wert High School and a 50-year member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Van Wert.
Survivors include two sons, Kent (Janice) McMillen of Van Wert and Steve McMillen of Columbus; three daughters, Kathy (Doug) DeCamp of Columbus, Sue (Dan) Knight of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Fran (Ben) McMillen of Las Cruses, N.M.; two stepsons, Roger (Cora) Saum of Delphos and Don Saum of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Louise Pheneger of Wheeling, W.Va.; nine grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Isobel Drury, and a brother, Billy Resor, who died in childhood.
Memorial services will be held at 3 pm. Sunday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Van Wert, with Pastor Joachim Wilck officiating. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery.
Visitation will be two hours before the service in the church parlor.

CROUCH
Barbara L. Crouch, 70, of 310 North St., died at 2:21 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born May 26, 1932, in Celina, the daughter of the late Burton Stemen and Enid L. (Baldwin) Mace. On March 21, 1959, in Lyn, Ind., she married Carl H. Crouch, who survives in Van Wert.
Mrs. Crouch was a homemaker and attended First Friends Church in Van Wert. She enjoyed her cats and putting jigsaw puzzles together with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Jane (Ralph Jr.) Kreischer of Van Wert; a stepsister, Ann (James) McCray of Van Wert; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepbrother and a sister.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Gene Moser officiating, assisted by the Rev. Job Stagner. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
WURST
Ruth E. Wurst, 81, of 619 Congress St., died at 1 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Van Wert Manor nursing home.
She was born January 27, 1922, in Lima, the daughter of the late Melvin and Hazel M. (Gierhart) Wheeler. On August 17, 1949, she married Willis Henry Wurst, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wurst was retired from Fisher Big Wheel in Van Wert after 20 years of service. She was a member of First Church of God in Van Wert.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra K. (Lyle) Ebel of Grover Hill and Susan E. (Lynn) Jackson of Van Wert; four brothers, Melvin (Joan) Wheeler of Decatur, Ind., Lloyd Wheeler of Riverview, Fla., Lawrence Wheeler of Portland, Ore., and Fredric W. Wheeler of Van Wert; three sisters, Pauline Proklevich of Brandon, Fla., Violet (Gordon) Kimmey of Valrica, Fla., and Mary (Ray) Hingson of Pinellas Park, Fla.; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Wheeler, and one sister, Bernadine Wheeler.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Bill Jeffress officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

KEYTON
Betty J. Keyton, 71, of Delphos, died at 10:39 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2003, at her residence.
She was born March 8, 1932, in Delphos, the daughter of the late Elmer and Helen (Mihm) Grunden. In June 1955, she married Hubert Keyton, who survives in Lima.
Mrs. Keyton was a homemaker, a past member of the Eagles lodge in St. Marys and a member of Delphos Church of the Nazarene. She liked to play shuffleboard with her sister, loved flowers and growing plants and loved to spoil her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Robert (Linda) Montfort of Lima and Carl "Eddy" Keyton of Delphos; four daughters, Bonnie (Chris) Lee and Sandy (Terry) Wilkins, both of Lima, and Helen McDermitt and Carol (Rick) Boop, both of Delphos; one sister, Bonnie I. Ickes of Middle Point; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Danny Montfort, David A. Keyton and Hubert Keyton Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos, the Rev. Bill Reeder officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

MASON
Georgia Victoria Mason, 89, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died at 2:15 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2003.
She was born May 24, 1913, in Ridge Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Walter Jacob and Gladys Mae (Hart) Fronefield. On November 27, 1937, in Pleasant Mills, Ind., she married Charles R. Mason, who died September 4, 1968.
Mrs. Mason retired from Federal-Mogul Corporation in Van Wert in 1969 with 25 years of service. She was active in the Over 50 Club of First Assembly of God Church in Fort Wayne and enjoyed flower gardening and quilting. She attended Middle Point School.
Survivors include two sons, Robert J. (Colleen) Mason of Glendale, Ariz., and C. Richard (Janet) Mason of Frankfort, Ind.; two daughters, Dell Mae McClain of Crowley, Texas, and Marjorie Louise (Larry) Knafel of Columbia City, Ind.; a brother, H. Gene (Marjorie) Fronefield of Ohio City; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Van Jack Fronefield and Walter John Fronefield, and four sisters, Dorothy Fronefield, Helen Irene Cox, N. Louise Breese and Marjorie Crisenberry.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Bob Monroe of First Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be in Tomlinson Cemetery in Mercer County.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
