MOX
Donald Mox, 79, of Delphos, died at 10:27 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
He was born November 2, 1923, in Delphos, the son of the late Clarence E. and Edna P. (Feaster) Mox. On February 1, 1947, he married Ruby Marie Blackmore, who died January 27, 1996.
Mr. Mox was a real estate broker for 30 years and also farmed and raised livestock. He graduated from Delphos Jefferson High School in 1941 and was confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on May 30, 1937. He was a member of St. Peter's, Lima Elks lodge, was a charter member of the Auction and Real Estate Association and helped with a number of charitable events, including the St. John's Fair, FFA events and was the original auctioneer for the Delphos Country Club Calcutta.
Survivors include two sons, Steven A. (Laura) Mox of Rockford and Michael D. (Rose) Mox of Lima; three sisters, Alice Mayer of Elida, Norma (Ted) Koenig of Delphos and Helen (Ted) Gorman of Ottoville; four grandchildren, Crystal Mox, Amy (Josh) Eibling, Amber Mox and Andy Mox, and a great-grandchild, Kale R. Eibling.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry E. Mox.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Delphos, the Rev. William Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Harter & Son Funeral Home in Delphos.

ELLIOTT
Elmo L. Elliott, 81, of Antwerp, died at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Hicksville.
He was born October 24, 1921, in Antwerp, the son of the late George and Mae (Hissong) Elliott. On December 31, 1951, he married to Ellen Maxine Ish, who survives.
Mr. Elliott spent 31 years at Grizzly Manufacturing and more recently retired from Dietrich in Hicksville. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5087 in Antwerp.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Judy Hull of Hicksville; one sister, Marcellene Noll of Antwerp; five grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gilbert and Norbert Elliott.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Maumee Cemetery in Antwerp, with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 5087 in Antwerp.
There will be no visitation.
GREEN
Helen L. Green, 83, of Van Wert, died at 5:45 a.m. Sunday, March 2, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born February 15, 1920, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Earl J. and Norma R. (Waltz) Sherburn. On August 25, 1940, she married Robert G. Green, who died March 22, 1984.
Mrs. Green was a homemaker and a former beautician. She was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert and the Martha Circle of the church. She also belonged to the Buckeye Belles Home Extension Club, Convoy American Legion Auxiliary, Lady Board of Managers of Van Wert County Hospital, Convoy Golden Classics and was a former member of Twigs I.
Survivors include two sons, Robert M. (Susan) Green of Easley, S.C., and Bradley J. (Jo) of Van Wert; two daughters, Claudia (David) McGhee of Van Wert and Cynthia (Merl) Wortman of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a sister, Dorothy Kaduk of Van Wert; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Sherburn, and three sisters, Kathryn Bauman, Opal Dellinger and Doris Sherburn
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Raymond Feeck officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

MAULLER
Samantha E. Mauller, 92, a former longtime resident of Adams County, Ind., died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, March 2, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born January 14, 1911, in Paulding County, the daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Esther (Edds) Mason. On September 10, 1928, she married Irwin C. Mauller, who died March 28, 1995.
Mrs. Mauller was a homemaker. She attended Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert and had attended the United Brethren in Christ Church in Decatur, Ind., for many years.
Survivors include three daughters, Reta (Gerald) Ashbaugh and Joan (Elmer) Giessler, both of Van Wert, and Pamela (Larry) Rich of Carmel, Ind.; two sisters, Catherine Baer of Van Wert and Bertha McConnehey of Fort Wayne, Ind.; eight grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Richard, Archie, William and Charles Mason, and two sisters, Margie Laurey and Pauline Shaver.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, the Rev. James Sturgeon officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

WIEGING
Alvera "Vera" M. Wieging, 98, of Fort Jennings, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, March 2, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Delphos.
She was born September 18, 1904, in Ottoville, the daughter of the late Walter and Joseph (Sanders) Bigelow. In 1922, she married Edward Wieging, who died August 25, 1959.
Mrs. Wieging was a beautician for 66 years, working until she was 93 years old. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Jennings, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3740 Auxiliary and helped start The Daughters of American Legion Post 715 auxiliary in Fort Jennings. She was also a member of Legion Post 715 and the church's Altar Rosary Society. She was a graduate of Inez Kiefer Beauty College in Fort Wayne, Ind., in 1927. She cooked for the priest and sisters and liked to sew, crochet, and needlepoint. As a cook, she was especially known for her pies.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Pat Wieging of Fort Jennings; one sister, Frances Kiefer of Swanton; eight grandchildren, Gary (Margie) Wieging of Fort Jennings, Edward (Doreen) Wieging and Marsha (Dennis) Kahle, both of Elida, Jack (Mary) Wieging of Granger, Ind., Randy Wieging, Debbie (Bob) Kennedy of Fort Wayne, Cindy Wieging of Defiance and Linda (Keith) Gossar of Sarasota, Fla.; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter, Hillary, Bill and Ralph Bigelow; four sisters, Margaret Bigelow, Esther Metzger, Irene Spencer and Dorothy Hostman; two sons, Herbert J. and Thomas E. Wieging; a granddaughter, Lisa Marie Wieging, and a special friend, Lynn Bervinkle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Jennings, with Father Tony Borgia officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Fort Jennings.
Visitation will be from 1-4 and 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at Harter & Son Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

BOGART
M. Jolayne Bogart, 65, of 542 William St., died at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2003, at her residence.
She was born February 14, 1938, in Cincinnati, the daughter of the late Gordon F. and Gladys L. (Filder) Westhaus.
Ms. Bogart had been working as the manager of the Laudick's Jewelry store in Celina. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert.
Survivors include two sons, Tim (Stacy) Bogart of Carlton and David (Lisa) Bogart of West Lake; three daughters, Deb (Steve) Laudick and Mary (Damon) Yackey, both of Van Wert, and Linda (Mike) Kennaw of Lynden, Wash.; three brothers, Harry (Carol) Westhaus of Livonia, Mich., William (Diana) Westhaus of Ann Arbor, Mich., and John (Arleen) Westhaus of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; 18 grandchildren, Emylee, Isaac, Christina, Liliana, Avery, Jack, Jolie and Maislin Bogart, Ben (Kimberly), Kristy, Nathan, Katie and Cameron Laudick, Levi, Kaitlyn, Jolayne and Kyle Kennaw and Rylan and Hannah Yackey, and one great-granddaughter, Larissa Laudick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Father Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Visitation is between 2 and 8 p.m. Sunday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, where a parish rosary service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Sunday.

TATE
Jerry Curtiss "Tater" Tate, 40, of 10663 Mendon Road, died Thursday afternoon, March 20, 2003, at his residence.
He was born November 28, 1962, in Columbus, the son of Jimmy Tate of Mount Hope, W.Va., and Janet Rife of Van Wert. On December 5, 1996, he married Shelly DeWitt, who survives in Van Wert.
Mr. Tate was a former truck driver and was currently a painter at Strick Corp. He was a 1981 graduate of Van Wert High School.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by as stepfather, John Rife of Van Wert; four children, Teddy, Terricka, Tia and Kathy Tate of Van Wert; three stepchildren, Britni Wells, Kayla Wells and Hillary Wells of Van Wert; one brother, Henry Rife Jr. of Van Wert, a paternal grandmother, Hester Harrah of Mount Hope, W.Va.; a nephew, Ethan Rife of Van Wert, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a son, Toby Curtiss Tate; one sister, Kathy Tate, and a grandfather, Ted Harrah.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Monday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Keith Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
