POLLOCK
Veda Marcele (Sheley) Pollock, 98, died Friday, March 21, 2003, at Blueberry Hill Nursing Home in Beverly, Mass.
The daughter of the late Perry Vernon and Amanda Elma (Gamble) Sheley, she was born on January 28, 1905, in Middle Point. married to Francis Austin Pollock on December 25, 1922, they enjoyed 53 years of marriage until his death on September 20, 1975.
During World War II, Mrs. Pollock worked as an assembler of aircraft instruments at Kohlsman's Plant. After the war, she retired at 19 years as a legal secretary in a New York City law firm. She and her husband returned to Middle Point after living for 38 years in New York state and she moved to Boxford, Mass., in 1996 to be near her daughter's family. Mrs. Pollock was a member of Middle Point Methodist Church, Delphos Chapter 26, Order of Eastern Star, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. she was also a former member of the Middle Point Jolly Timers club.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances Veda (Edward) Fitzgibbons of Boxford, Mass.; a grandson, Paul Thomas Fitzgibbons of Groveland, Mass.; one granddaughter, Veda Louis (George Jr.) Connolly of Georgetown, Mass.; five great-grandchildren, Michael, Brian and Joseph Fitzgibbons, and Patrick and Kathleen Veda Connolly; three nieces, Madonna (Allen) Stittsworth of Van Wert and Juanita Ann Brink and Patty Jo Miller, both of Findlay, and a nephew, William Allen of Oklahoma City, Okla.
Burial was in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point, and a memorial service is planned in the future at Middle Point Methodist Church.
Local arrangements were made by Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert.
RODRIQUEZ
Henry S. Rodriguez, 67, of Celina, died at 8:28 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2003, at Community Hospital in Coldwater.
He was born September 1, 1935, in Crystal City, Texas, the son of the late Benito and Ninfa Enriqueta (Saucedo) Rodriguez. On September 4, 1956, he married Betty Jean Henderson, who survives at the residence.
Mr. Rodriguez was retired from Avco New Idea in Coldwater. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina.
Survivors include three sons, John (Diane) Rodriguez and Tony (Christine Ianiro) Rodriguez, both of Celina, and David (Cheryl) Rodriguez of Bluffton; two daughters, Vickey (Larry) Miller of Celina and Tammy (Rocco) Farello of Los Angeles, Calif.; three brothers, Benito (Patsy) Rodriguez of Montezuma and James (Betty Lou) Rodriguez and Everado (Lavada) Rodriguez, both of Celina; two sisters, Carmen (Dave) Voskuhl of Celina and Rosi (Cato) Broines of Fort Wayne, Ind., and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Ann Rodriguez; one son, Tommy Allen Rodriguez, and a brother, Reinaldo Rodriguez.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home in Celina.
BELL
Harriet R. Bell, 92, of 7427 Old Tile Factory Road, died at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born March 21, 1911, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late James L. and Ocee Pearl (Boucher) Shively. On October 8, 1932, she married Wilbert H. Bell, who died January 10, 1986.
Mrs. Bell was a homemaker and also worked as a seamstress for the John Earl Company and the Marsh Foundation, both in Van Wert. She was a member of Antioch Chapel Church in Van Wert and was a former Sunday School teacher and member of the church's Ladies Aid Society. She served on the Van Wert County Hospital Lady Board of Managers, was a former 4-H adviser and a former member of the Crestview Farm Wives.
Survivors include a son, Jim (Alice) Bell of Van Wert; three daughters, Carol (Dick) Baxter of Van Wert, Alice (Bob) Lake of Grover Hill and Jadine (Ed) Conn of Ohio City; one sister, Margaret DeCamp of Convoy; 23 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Opal Bell and Mabel Bell, and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. James Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mrs. Bell to the Vancrest Activities Fund.
HESSELRING
Kimberly Lee Hesselring, 40, of Delphos, died at 5:25 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2003, at SCCI of Lima.
She was born October 30, 1962, in Delphos, the daughter of Florentine "Honey" Martin Cooley and the late James Cooley.
Miss Hesselring formerly worked at Recharge Enterprise in Delphos. She was a member of the Orioles.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Stocklin of Ottoville and Andrew Stocklin of Delphos; a daughter, Jennifer (Billy) Smith of Delphos; a brother, Tom Cooley of Delphos; five sisters, Susan (Wayne) Meeks of Lima, Vicki Agler of Middle Point and Diane (Paul) Fetzer, Patricia (Richard) Patton and Jodi Cooley, all of Delphos, and a grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Cooley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos, with Pastor Wayne Prator officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Delphos.
Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

PICKER
Margaret Ellen Picker, 74, of Delphos, died at 2:17 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born February 1, 1929, in Delphos, the daughter of the late Adam and Opal (Lucas) May. On November 9, 1946, she married Carl R. "Duke" Picker, who died September 9, 1988.
Mrs. Picker worked at Scherger Monument and as a hostess at McDonald's restaurant in Delphos. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, antiquing, crocheting and working with others.
Survivors include two sons, Alan J. Picker of Delphos and Carl (Karen) Picker Jr. of Sidney; four daughters, Carla (Bob) Beckmann and Cheryl (Rod) Maloney, both of Elida, Kathy (Ron) Reindel of Delphos and Debra (Larry) Lee of Fort Jennings; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren, and a longtime friend, Les Dienstberger.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary B. King, and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel in Delphos, with Father Chris Vasko officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.

GRIMM
Mildred D. Grimm, 74, of Celina, died at 3:33 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2003, in Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born February 2, 1929, in Jay County, Ind., the daughter of the late Jessie Albert Bailey and Ethel (May) Cox. On January 14, 1950, she married Samuel L. Grimm, who died December 24, 1986.
Mrs. Grimm was a homemaker and a member of First Church of God in Celina. She was a longtime member of the Eagles and Moose lodge auxiliaries, both in Celina.
Survivors include four daughters, Linda (Dale) Boroff of Ohio City and Sandy (Charlie) Bruggeman, Bianka (James) Jenkins and Roberta (Monte) Diegel, all of Celina; four brothers, Harold Bailey of Geneva, Ind., Jim Bailey of Marion, Ind., and Edward Bailey and Robert L. Bailey, both of Portland, Ind.; a sister, Irma Young of Greenville; 13 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy K. Huffman, who died December 17, 1998; eight brothers, Joseph, Kenneth, Melvin, Orville, Irvin and three others, and two sisters, Ruth Ward and Nellie Shaffer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home in Celina, the Rev. Richard VanHorn officiating. Burial will be in Swamp College Cemetery in Celina.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and an hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.

BURCH
Dorothy L. Burch, 89, of Fort Wayne, Ind., and formerly of Fostoria, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at Parkview Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
She was born April 23, 1913, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late William and Alice (Pettiford) Brown. On October 31, 1931, she married Jethro Burch, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Burch was retired from General Electric in Tiffin with more than 25 years of service. She was also a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Fostoria, was a former Fostoria branch president, Ohio state president and national board member of the NAACP and the first member of the NAACP Regional Hall of Fame. She was a member of the board of the African-American National Museum in Wilberforce, which also houses a doll with her image. She was very active in the civil rights movement and was a former president of the Wood, Seneca, Ottawa and Sandusky County Head Start. She was a former chief steward, vice president and negotiator for the International United Electrical Workers Union.
Survivors include a son, Jethro (Geraline) Burch of Springfield; seven daughters, Barbara Long of Patrick Air Force Base in Florida, Betty Ann Garnes of Findlay, Lela Crawford of Toledo, Lois Burch of Youngstown, Carolyn Jones and Catherine Burch, both of Fort Wayne, and Deborah (Philip) Weiker of Sylvania; 30 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Frederick Burch; seven brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert. Burial will be in Greenbriar Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
