DICKERHOOF
Maybelle Dickerhoof, 86, of Van Wert, died Sunday, March 9, 2003, at Sara Jane Living Center in Delphos.
She was born July 4, 1917, in Mark Center, the daughter of the late Jesse H. and Nora B. (Apple) Ebersole. On February 9, 1938, in Pineville, Ky., she married Loren Dickerhoof, who preceded her in death on November 1, 1976.
Mrs. Dickerhoof owned the Lone Tower Restaurant in Cecil for a number of years.
Survivors include a son, Larry Dickerhoof of Van Wert; two daughters, Judy (Steve) Reznikov of Harlan, Ind., and Sherry (Greg) Subler of Delphos; a sister, Ocie Miller of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Sally Dickerhoof of Delphos; a son-in-law, Bob Jackson of Harlan; 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Max Dickerhoof; a daughter, Mary Jean Jackson; a brother, Mylo Ebersole; one great-grandchild, and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rice-Burr Funeral Home in Sherwood, with the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Tuesday and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.

SELL
Carl A. Sell, 85, of Rockford, died at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2003, at his residence.
He was born August 11, 1917, in Dublin Township, Mercer County, the son of the late Samuel O. and Zelma (Boice) Sell. On May 3, 1942, he married Martha A. Akom, who preceded him in death on March 24, 1950. On June 6, 1951, he married Pauline L. Book, and she survives.
Mr. Sell was a shop foreman, mechanic and salesman for Ford Motor Company's Tractor & Implement Division and operated a farm equipment dealership for 12 years. He also managed the Ridgeway Motel in Van Wert and a Western 6 motel in Tempe, Ariz. He worked six years for Fred Harvey in Grand Canyon, Ariz., as a desk clerk and in the accounting office and also helped on the farm most of his life. He was a longtime member of Otterbein United Brethren Church, now New Horizons Community Church in Rockford. He was a six-year member of the Auglaize County Sheriff's Auxiliary, a former member of the Ohio Flying Farmers and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713 in Celina.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Larry (Theresa) Sell of Bluffton, Ind., Dr. Jerry (Connie) Sell of Rockford, Roger Sell of Willshire and Kenneth (Soon-ni) Sell of Orange Park, Fla.; two brothers, Lowell (Martha) Sell of Wapakoneta and Paul (Betty) Sell of Bluffton, Ind.; a sister, Ruth Smith of Georgia; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Wanna Sell, and one brother, Robert Sell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at New Horizons Community Church, with Pastor Robert Loar officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.

McNEAL
Helen Dilling McNeal, 77, of Payne, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 11, 2003, at Convoy Care Center.
She was born January 29, 1926, in Monroeville, Ind., the daughter of the late Carl and Minerva (Louden) Baumert. She first married Delbert Dilling, who died in 1961. She then married Paul McNeal, who died in 1997.
Mrs. McNeal was a homemaker and a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Payne.
Survivors include a son, Arthur Dilling of Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter, Sandra Patterson of New Haven, Ind.; two brothers, LeRoy Baumert of Ruskin, Fla., and William Baumert of New Haven, Ind.; a sister, Doris Doty of Woodburn, Ind.; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Lutheran Church in Payne, the Rev. Joseph Allen officiating. Burial will be in Lehman Cemetery in Payne.
Calling hours will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday at Slade Funeral Home in Payne.

DALLY
Joy Belle Dally, 59, of Van Wert, died late Monday evening, May 12, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne.
She was born September 14, 1943, in Fredericksburg, Va., the daughter of Troas Dally Jacoby, who survives in Kendallville, Ind., and the late Herman R.B. Dally. She was not married.
Miss Dally was employed as a teacher in the Lincolnview Local School District. She was a graduate of Defiance High School and received a bachelor of science degree from Defiance College and her master's degree from Bowling Green State University. She had also taught in the Continental and Delta school systems. She was a member of the National Education Association, the Ohio Education Association and Van Wert County Harness Horsemen Association.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a brother, Herman (Judy) Dally of Defiance; a stepsister, Pat (George) Holmes of Wolcottville, Ind.; one niece, Ashley Dally of Defiance, and a nephew, Martin Dally of Defiance.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Sanford Jacoby.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Sam Schroeder officiating. Graveside committal services will be at Riverside Cemetery in Defiance.
Calling hours are from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until time of services at the funeral home.

SCHAADT
Edgar D. Schaadt, 84, of Van Wert, died at 1:45 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born February 7, 1919, in Rockford, the son of the late Joseph and Clarice (Mann) Schaadt. On May 22, 1942, he married Dorothy Riley, who survives at home.
Mr. Schaadt was a graduate of the Cleveland School of Embalming. He was employed at the former Vale Funeral Home in Celina and then at the Vore Knoll Funeral Home in Van Wert. He later worked in parts inventory at the former Purdy Motor Sales in van Wert and then at Van Wert Auto Supply. He then became a route salesman for Steel Automotive Sales in Lima for many years. Following that, he worked in the parts department of Delphos Chevrolet for several years and later drove cars for Statewide Ford in Van Wert and was employed by Brickner Funeral Home. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Germany. He was a member and past commander of American Legion Post 178 in Van Wert and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 in Van Wert. He also served for many years on the Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay (Boyd) Klineof Louisville, Ky.; one sister, Jo Samples of Van Wert; a granddaughters, Dee Doss of Campbellsville, Ky., and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dee Vogt, and two grandchildren, Jay D. Kline and Laura Brady.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Edward W. Jillson officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys, with military graveside rites by the combined honors unit of American Legion Post 178 and VFW Post 5803.
Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

BROOKS
Lauretta Brooks, 94, of Payne, died Monday, May 12, 2003, at Dallas Lamb Foundation Home in Payne.
She was born October 31, 1908, in Chandler, Ind., the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Fisher) Brooks. She never married.
Miss Brooks was a retired school teacher for the Columbus Grove Local Schools. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and Hesperian Chapter 281, Order of Eastern Star, both in Payne.
There are no immediate survivors.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Slade Funeral Home in Payne, the Rev. Amy Haines officiating. Burial will be in Wiltsie Cemetery in Payne.
Calling hours are after 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where an Eastern Star service will be conducted at 8 that evening.
MIHM
Betty Dean Mihm, 76, of Rockford, died at 8 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was born July 3, 1926, in Mercer County, the daughter of the late Dillon and Goldie (Watkins) Jordan. On October 12, 1946, she married Ernest Mihm, who survives.
Mrs. Mihm was a homemaker and was married for 56 years. She attended Rockford United Methodist Church and the women's organization of the church. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Diane (Dave Jr.) Sheets of Mendon and Elaine (Jim) Geyer of Gallaway, and a grandson, Davy (Erica) Sheets of Mendon.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, the Rev. Mike Berne officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
