BARNHART
Allie E. Barnhart Jr., 76, of Elida, died at 1:30 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2004, at his residence.
He was born December 6, 1928, in Firebrick, the son of the late Allie and Thelma (Leonard) Barnhart Sr. On December 9, 1949, he married Rita Coakley, who survives at home.
Mr. Barnhart retired in 1991 from Sonoco Products (previously Continental Can Company) in Van Wert after 47 years of service. He attended True Word Tabernacle in Bluffton and was a member of the Delphos Eagles Aerie. He served in the U.S. Army for three years during the Korean War, enjoyed traveling and fellowship with the "good ole boys" at Jim's Restaurant in Delphos.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Edward (Robbin) Barnhart of Elida; four brothers, Harrell (Alice) Barnhart, Delbert Barnhart, William (Evelyn) Barnhart and James (Carol) Barnhart, all of Van Wert, and five sisters, Ellen (Ed) Grimes, Karen (Dennis) Stout, Janet (Don) Risley and Betty Jewel, all of Van Wert, and Rosalie (Art) Miller of Delphos.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Barnhart, and three sisters, Arbadella Coressel, Loretta Rader and Ceola Shindledecker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, at Harter & Schier Memorial Chapel in Delphos. Burial will be in Carmen Cemetery in Gomer.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, at the funeral home.

WECK
Geraldine D. "Geri" Weck, 85, of 5414 U.S. 224, Convoy, died at 1:49 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2004, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
She was born December 26, 1918, in Ohio City, the daughter of the late Vernon F. and Bernice Ilo (Foor) Brubaker. On August 3, 1947, she married George F. Weck, who survives at home.
Mrs. Weck was a registered nurse who worked for Dr. J.R. Jarvis in Van Wert, as head of the Obstetrics Department at Adams County Hospital in Decatur, Ind., and for Dr. Jack H. Cox in Van Wert. She was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Harrison Township. She was a 1937 graduate of Van Wert High School and also graduated from the Middleton School of Nursing. She was an American Red Cross volunteer, a member of Van Wert Visiting Nurses Association, Van Wert Garden Club, the TWIGS organization of Van Wert County Hospital and also served as president of the Valparaiso Guild for four years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Phillip Kent (Candace) Weck of Kennett Square, Pa.; two daughters, Gail Elaine (Bill) Jenson of Hebron, Ind., and Denise Lynn (Jim) Miller of Huron; two brothers, Gordon Richard (Phyllis) Brubaker of Lima and Raymond K. (Jeanne) Brubaker of Sun City, Ariz., and six grandchildren, Allyson Weck, Meredith Weck, Nathan Jensen, Brian Jensen, Erin Miller and Christopher Miller.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Brubaker, Marvin P. Brubaker and Robert D. Brubaker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 23, at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Harrison Township, the Rev. Eric Ebb and Pastor Timothy Sims officiating. Burial will be in Evangelical Protestant Cemetery in Harrison Township.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.

MACWHINNEY
Nelle Augusta Macwhinney, 97, of Delphos, died at 8:40 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2004, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Delphos.
She was born February 21, 1907, in Geneva, Ind., and daughter of the late Clement and Bessie (Goff) Greene. She married Francis M. Macwhinney, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Macwhinney was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Delphos.
Survivors include four sons, Deane Macwhinney of Spencerville, Don Macwhinney of Delphos, Dave Macwhinney of Celina and Lee Macwhinney of Lima; a daughter, Kay Best of Delphos; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 23, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Delphos, with the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Geneva, Ind.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home in Delphos and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.

GERMANN
Agnes O. Germann, 97, of Van Wert, died at 6:02 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at Van Wert Manor nursing home in Van Wert.
She was born August 10, 1907, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Felix E. and Olivia N. (Saam) Germann. She never married.
Miss Germann was a private caregiver for many years. She was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Van Wert County.
Survivors include two sisters, Edith Stewart of Cincinnati and Mildred Miller of Alhambra, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gaylord and Glen Germann, and a sister, Grace Basil.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 27, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Timothy Sims officiating. Burial will be in Evangelical Protestant Cemetery in Van Wert County.
Calling hours are 2-6 p.m. Sunday, December 26, and an hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.

TRIPPLET
Vivian M. Tripplet, 80, of Van Wert, died late Tuesday afternoon, December 21, 2004, at her residence.
She was born April 28, 1924, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Ernest L. and Sarah L. (Koons) Daring. On August 3, 1946, she married Ralph W. Tripplet, who died June 7, 2002.
Mrs. Tripplet was a homemaker and a member of First Friends Church in Van Wert. She was a member of the Lady Board of Managers of Van Wert County Hospital, the Hoaglin-Jackson Sunrise Club and the Van Wert Council on Aging, and was an avid Bingo player.
Survivors include a son, Dennis Tripplet of Roundo, S.C.; two daughters, B. Jeanne (Keith) Braun of Celina and Joyce (Terry) Chapman of Van Wert; seven grandchildren, Steven Rode, Lindsay Bourelle, Joshua Horner, Kyle Bourelle, April Biederman, Rebecca Lacey and Kristin Chapman, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Craine, and a grandson, Troy Lee Cram.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, December 24, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Van Wert County.

HARVEY
Betty J. Harvey, 83, of Van Wert, died Thursday morning, December 23, 2004, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born November 10, 1921, in Columbus, the daughter of the late William A. and Bess (Daughtery) Mueller. On December 30, 1943, she married Roy E. Harvey, who died January 3, 2002.
Mrs. Harvey was the former co-owner of Harvey Equipment of Van Wert. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert and the Women's Circle of the church, TWIGS, the Van Wert Chapter of the American Red Cross, was a former Van Wert County election worker and was an avid bridge player.
Survivors include two sons, Roy E. (Corrie) Harvey III of Toledo and William (Ann) Harvey of Van Wert; two daughters, Carol (Walt) Mischnick of Williamsville, N.Y., and Barbara (Rick) Scanlan of Fort Collins, Colo.; 14 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Private family funeral services will be held.
There will be no visiting hours.

WRIGHT
Mary Adaline Wright, 93, of 1254 S. Shannon St., Apartment 125, Van Wert, died at 3:55 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2004, at her residence.
She was born July 31, 1911, in Liberty Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Morrison) Moyer.
Miss Wright was a registered nurse and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ohio City. She was a graduate of St. Rita's School of Nursing, then went to Ohio State, where she graduated in 1958. She then went on to be director of education at Columbus State School for two years. Having gone nearly deaf, she went to the Southwest and worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Silver City, N.M.; when that closed, she went to the Navajo Reservation in Window Rock, Ariz., for three years and then moved to Santa Fe, N.M., where she taught licensed practical nurses at St. Vincent Hospital, then retired to Silver City in 1976. She was also a volunteer at Hurley Elementary School. She was a 50-plus year member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include four nieces, Esther Profit and Janet Hoverman, both of Ohio City, Mary Jane Metcalf of Lexington, Ky., and Kaulene (Denzil) Wortman of Van Wert, and a nephew, Raymond (Mary) Hoverman of McComb, as well as many great-nieces, including Diane Profit of Ohio City, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Waldo Meyer, and four sisters, Blanch Matthews, Lula Sidle, Pauline Fraser and Katherine Hoverman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, December 27, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Denise Brown officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
Calling hours are 3-6 p.m. Sunday, December 26, at the funeral home.
