Carolyn Dix
WOOSTER -- Memorial service for Carolyn Gustafson Dix, 88, who died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Sunrise Assisted Living of Wooster, is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church of Wooster with the Rev. Dale Sanford officiating.
There will be no calling hours, however, a reception in the church will follow with family members present.
Cremation followed death with cremains to be interred at the Wooster Cemetery.
McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster is handling arrangements.
Donations in Mrs. Dix's memory may be made to the Wayne County Public Library or to the United Methodist Church of Wooster.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond E. Dix, former publisher of The Daily Record. The Dixes lived many years at 647 Northwestern Ave., and both have resided in recent months at Sunrise, where Raymond continues to live.
Other survivors include children, R. Victor Dix and his wife, Carolyn, of Wooster; Edna Crocker, and her husband, David, of University Park, Md.; and Ellen Dungan and her husband, Albert, of Larchmont , N.Y.
Also, grandchildren and spouses Debra, and her husband, Bill Kessler, of Crawfordville, Fla.; Andrew, of Cleveland; Susan and her husband, David Tibbits, of Tampa, Fla. and Daniel and his wife, Monica, of Sanibel, Fla., all children of Victor and Carolyn Dix.
Also, Cathy and her husband, Steve Moser, of Larchmont, N.Y., Amanda and her husband, Don Martocchio, of New York City, and David, of University Park, Md., all children of Edna and David Crocker.
Also, Bridget, of Larchmont, N.Y., daughter of Ellen and Albert Dungan.
Surviving great-grandchildren are Travis, Sarah, Chelsea, and Rachael, children of Debra and Bill Kessler; and Cole and Lucas, children of Susan and David Tibbits,

Earl Conkle
ORRVILLE -- Earl M. Conkle, 96, formerly of 956 South Vine St., Orrville, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville, following a period of declining health.
Memorial services for Earl and his wife, Helen A. Conkle, who died Jan. 20, 2000, will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Orrville on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dennis Rinehart officiating. Masonic services will be held at the church on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. prior to the memorial service.
There will be no calling hours. The body has been cremated and burial of cremains will take place at a later date at the Penfield Township Cemetery in Lorain County.

He was born Aug. 18, 1903 in Bellevue to John and Elizabeth (Shock) Conkle and married Helen A. Dague on June 6, 1934 in Elyria.
He is survived by children and spouses, Philip and Carolynn Conkle of Florence, Ky. and Mary Lou and Jack Rogers of Orrville; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Martha Bowers
ORRVILLE -- Martha Jane Bowers (Mrs. Leo T. Bowers), 94, formerly of 343 N. Elm St., Orrville, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville, after a brief illness.
Services will be Monday, Jan. 31, 2000 at 2:30 p.m. at Orrville Christian Church on North Elm St. with the Rev. Tom Ledford officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
Friends may call Monday from 1-2:30 p.m. prior to the services at Orrville Christian Church.

She was born May 16, 1905 in Fort Gay, W.Va. to Alex and Mary (Boyd) Christian and married Leo T. Bowers, on Aug. 30, 1924. He died March 6, 1976.
She is survived by a son, Jim Bowers and wife, Penny of Orrville; daughter, Shirley and husband, Chuck Higgins of Athens; sister-in-law, Grace McIlvain of Texas and Roberta Bowers of Seattle, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and a close friend, Geneva Carney of Orrville.
L. Agnes Swiger
WOOSTER -- L. Agnes Swiger, 91, formerly of 1681 Highland Park Road, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday evening, Jan. 26, 2000, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center, Orrville, following a short illness.
There will be no services or visitation. Cremation has taken place and burial of cremains will take place at Lions Club Cemetery, in Lumber Port, W.Va. in the spring.
Custer Funeral Home, Wooster, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Feb. 20, 1908 in Mannington, W.Va.
She married Elmus J. Swiger on June 5, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland. He went home to be with the Lord September of 1988.
She is survived by a son, Everett Swiger of Haywood, W.Va.; two daughters and their husbands, Mrs. Cletus H. (Martha I. Kennedy) Stinchcomb of Wooster and Mrs. Larry (Loverna) Ashcroft of LaMirada, Calif.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Levi Yoder
BALTIC -- Levi N. Yoder, 65, 3892 State Route 557, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at his residence, after a six-month illness.
Services will be Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Yoder residence with Bishop Floyd E. Troyer officiating. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery in Clark Township, Holmes County.
Friends may call anytime after 2 p.m. today (Friday) at the residence.

He was born March 6, 1934 in Holmes County to Noah L. and Saloma (Miller) Yoder and married Abigail Miller on Dec. 11, 1956. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 10 sons, Noah (Emma) Yoder of Millersburg, Abe (Esther) Yoder and Robert (Elsie) Yoder, both of Baltic, Levi Yoder Jr. of the home, Marvin (Anna) Yoder, Adam (Miriam) Yoder, Wyman (Wilma) Yoder, all of Baltic, Peter (Martha) Yoder, Floyd Yoder and Adrian Yoder, all of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Eli (Sarah) Troyer, Mrs. Albert (Saloma) Barkman, both of Baltic, Mrs. John (Anna) Raber of Sugarcreek, Mrs. Andy (Katie) Miller of Dundee and Mrs. Alvin (Betty) Yoder of Millersburg; 55 grandchildren; six brothers, Emanuel Yoder of Baltic, Albert Yoder of Millersburg, Jonas Yoder of Holmesville, Noah Yoder and Adam Yoder, both of Baltic and Aden Yoder of Fresno and two sisters, Mrs. Noah (Fannie) Miller of Millersburg and Mattie Miller of Clare, Mich.

RITTMAN -- Roberta Yoder, 71, 129 Greenwood Ave., died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at her home.

She was born Oct. 27, 1928, in Radnor, W.Va., to Ben and Cuzzie (Thompson) Curnutte and married Richard Yoder. He died in 1985.

BARBERTON -- Helen A. Hatfield, 62 of Barberton, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Magnolia Care Center

She was born Aug. 1, 1937, in Akron to Robert and Anna (McKovich) Lay.

MILLERSBURG -- Michael L. Patterson, 73, of Millersburg, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 25, 2000, at Sunset View Skilled Nursing Home in Millersburg, after an extended illness.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with Pastor Don Lockwood officiating. Burial will be at Blissfield Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Thursday) from 6-9 at the funeral home, where Masonic services will be held at 8:30.

He was born Dec. 24, 1926, in Holmes County to James Albert and Nellie Grace (Lower) Patterson and married Betty Williamson on Aug. 20, 1945. She survives.

Jason Snively
LOUDONVILLE -- Jason Robert Snively, 33, 215 S. Adams St., died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, in Loudonville.
Funeral Mass will be Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Loudonville, with the Rev. Kevin Conroy officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery.

ORRVILLE -- Esther Marie McCoy, 85, 5520 Wadsworth Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville.

She was born Sept. 17, 1914, in Sterling to Grover C. and Pearl (Rehm) Steiner and married Forest McCoy on Dec. 22, 1947. He died May 24, 1989.
Surviving are a son, Michael "Jerry" McCoy and his wife, Thersa of Orrville; three grandchildren; and a sister, Julia Swank of Worthington.
Dorothy Lewis
LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Dorothy Virginia (Hoffman) Lewis, 75, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Wooster, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at Summer Lynn Hospital in Las Vegas, after a long illness.
Memorial services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Church of the Saviour in Wooster, with the Rev. Jerry Durham officiating. Cremated remains will be interred at a later date at Moreland Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, is handling arrangements.

She was born March 2, 1924, in Franklin Township, Wayne County to Peter and Grace (Tate) Hoffman and married E.D. Lewis. He survives and is of El Cajon, Calif.
Other survivors include grandchildren, Steven and Christine Kaiser, and a great-grandchild, Danielle Kaiser, all of El Cajon, Calif.; a sister, Elizabeth Clark of Palmdale, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Charlotte Hoffman of Wooster; and several nieces and nephews of California and Ohio.
Joe Laterza
WOOSTER -- Joseph A. "Joe" Laterza, 76, 1033 Washington St. No. 203, entered into rest, Friday morning, Jan. 21, 2000, at Austin Health Care Center, Wooster.
There will be no services or calling hours. The cremains will be interred at Crownhill Cemetery, Twinsburg, at a later date in the spring.

Mr. Laterza was born June 6, 1923 in Akron to Joseph A. and Assunta (Barbato) Laterza and has been a Wayne County resident since 1980.
He married Helen Frederick on March 19, 1944 in Akron. She survives.
In addition to his wife, Helen J. "Joyce" Laterza of Wooster, he is survived by a son and spouse, Anthony Joseph (Marge) Laterza of Wadsworth; four daughters, Cheryl A. Laterza of Wooster, Mrs. Roy (Claudia) J. LeJeune of Baton Rouge, La., Ms. Ursula M. Cummings of Apple Creek and Mrs. Jeffrey (Rebecca L.) Mann of Wooster; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Cheryl Miller
SUGARCREEK -- Cheryl R. Miller, three month-old daughter of Ray E. and Laura (Miller) Miller, 4191 County Road 114, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron. She had been ill since birth.
Services will be today (Sunday) at 1:30 p.m. at the Roman Miller residence, County Road 114, Sugarcreek with Bishop Levi J. Yoder officiating. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery in Clark Township, Holmes County.

Robert Oxley
DOYLESTOWN -- Robert C. Oxley, 63, died Saturday, January 22, 2000 at Rittman Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown. Burial will be at Clinton Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 23, 1936 in Doylestown to Roscoe and Martha E. (Hickman) Oxley and married Dorothy Mohler on Feb. 16, 1962. She survives.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Judi Oxley; a son, Bob Oxley; a granddaughter, Rebbecca Oxley, all of Doylestown and a sister, June Carter of California.

ASHLAND -- Eugene G. Cooper, 70, 1225 Hillcrest Drive, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at Samaritan Region Health System in Mansfield.
Memorial services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rowsburg Lutheran Church. Burial will be at the Rowsburg Cemetery.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons and daughters-in-law, Garry and Linda Cooper of Lexington and Rollie and Judy Cooper of Ashland; a daughter, Jayne Cooper of Ashland; three grandchildren; his mother of Wooster and three brothers, Howard Cooper of Millersburg and Dale and Dean Cooper, both of Wooster.
Vera Lepley
GLENMONT -- Vera (Kline) Lepley, 85, of Glenmont, died Saturday morning, Jan. 22, 2000, at Majora Lane Nursing Home in Millersburg, following an extended illness.
Memorial services will be Saturday, Jan. 29, at 1 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Glenmont with the Rev. Joanna Lance officiating. Private burial will be at the Nashville Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.

She was born June 16, 1914 in Nashville to Edward and Frances (Rizor) Kline and married Paul Lepley. He died Oct. 1, 1968.

ORRVILLE -- JoAnn Johns, 67, formerly of 8181 Rohrer Road, Orrville, and Marshallville, entered into rest Tuesday morning, Jan. 18, 2000, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville, where she had resided since March of 1999.
There will be no services or calling hours. Cremation has taken place and disposition of the cremains will be scattered at the convenience of the family at a later date. Custer Funeral Home, Wooster, handled arrangements.

'Jerry' Dickman
STOW -- Gerald R. "Jerry" Dickman, 65, of Stow, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000.
He was the father and father-in-law of Bambi and Thomas Huff of Dalton.
Cremation and private services have taken place. Redmon Funeral Home in Stow, is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
He was born in Defiance to Forrest and Thesel Dickman.
