SUGARCREEK -- Donald E. Barnhart, 84, 736 Miller Ave., died Monday afternoon, Jan. 10, 2000, in the emergency room at Union Hospital, after an apparent heart attack.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek, with the Rev. Barry French officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sugarcreek, where military rites will be conducted by Sugarcreek American Legion.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born Nov. 25, 1915, near Barrs Mills to Harry and Erma (Bittikofer) Barnhart and married Catherine Phillips. She died March 22, 1962.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Richard and Charlotte Barnhart and Faye Barnhart, all of Sugarcreek, Larry and Carol Barnhart of New Philadelphia and Dean Barnhart of Dover; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Loula Shumway
BAY VILLAGE -- Loula P. Shumway, 89, of Bay Village, formerly of Doylestown, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at Holy Family Home in Parma.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Emanuel United Church of Christ, with the Rev. James D. Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church. Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown, is handling arrangements.

She was born April 12, 1910, in Frankfort, Ky., to Benjamin W. and Loula Jane (Barnett) Roberts Sr. and married George F. Shumway. He died in 1968.
Surviving are children, Dr. Douglas K. (Christine) Shumway of Middleville, Mich., Lance R. (Sueellen) Shumway of Aberdeen, Wash., Sandra (Winifred J. Walter) Shumway of Bay Village and Judith S. Kasper of Oberlin; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Vachael "Bob" Roberts of Akron.
Ross Brillhart
MUSSELSHELL, Mont. -- Ross O. Brillhart, 90, of Musselshell, Mont., formerly of Orrville, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at Roundup Memorial Hospital from natural causes.
Services were held this morning, Jan. 11, at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial was at Roundup City Cemetery. Wier Funeral Chapel in Roundup, Mont., handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Roundup, Mont.; American Cancer Society; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
He was born Aug. 16, 1909, in Orrville to Ora and Mary (Rehm) Brillhart and married Irene F. Clapper on March 4, 1937, in Marshallville. She survives.
Other survivors include children and their spouses, Charles Brillhart, Wayne and Shirlee Brillhart, all of the family ranch in Musselshell, Mont., Luella and John Lokemoen of Jamestown, N.D., Maxine and Carrie Vink of Polson, Mont., and Thelma and Jerrome Cole of Mussselshell, Mont.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Brillhart and his wife, Ellen, of Orrville; a sister, Gail Weygandt of Canal Fulton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
'Breeze' Caster
WOOSTER -- Memorial services for Steven "Breeze" Caster, 46, 134 Prospect St., will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at the home of Esther Erb, 4626 Graber Road, Fredericksburg.
He died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999.
Judson Rosebush
DOVER -- Judson G. Rosebush, 82, a former member of the political science department at The College of Wooster, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, in Dover. He had taught at the college from 1946-54 and was acting Dean of Men from 1949-51.
Dr. Rosebush was born in Chicago, Ill., to Judson and Barbara (McNaughton) Rosebush.
In 1945, he married Bette Barbee in Topeka, Kan.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Bette; a son, Judson Rosebush III and his wife, Christine; a sister, Mrs. A.T. Weller of Staunton, Va.; sisters-in-law, Mrs. John M. Rosebush of Appleton, Wis., and Mrs. Charles J. Barbee of Topeka, Kan.; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Norma Jean Peet
MEDINA -- Norma Jean (Long) Peet, 67, of Medina, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home, A Golden Rule Funeral Home, 3477 Medina Road (River Styx and Route 18), Medina. Burial will be at Granger Township Cemetery.
Friends may call two hours prior to the services at the funeral home.
She was born Sept. 18, 1932, in Rittman, to Paul and Flossie (Carter) Long and married Evert Peet. He died previously.
Surviving are children, Donald Peet of Wadsworth, Susan Combs and her husband, Alex, of Dexter City, Mary, Evelane and Melisa Peet, all of Medina and Darleane Peet of Akron; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; brothers, Charles Long and his wife, Barb, of Rittman, Warren Long of Wadsworth, Ronnie Long of Columbus; and a sister, Arlene Burss of Rittman.
Richard Phillips
DALTON -- Richard D. Phillips, 64, of Dalton, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at his home after a long illness.
A Memorial Mass will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Barbara's Catholic Church, with Father Thomas Cebula as celebrant. Burial will be at Dalton Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Dalton, is handling arrangements.

He was born Jan. 1, 1936, in Akron, to Hubert and Yolanda (Kovesci) Phillips and married Joanne Shade on Nov. 29, 1986. She survives.
Other survivors include six children, six stepchildren, 18 grandchildren, his mother of Massillon, and a sister, Barbara Daut of Massillon.
Harvey Rickert
BOARDMAN -- Harvey A. Rickert, 78, 89 Newport Drive, died Sunday morning, Jan. 2, 2000, at Austin Retirement Village, Wooster, from a heart attack.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Youngstown. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman.
Friends may call tonight (Wednesday) from 7-9 at Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Youngstown, or one hour prior to the services at the church.
He was born July 12, 1921, in Lincoln, Ill., to the Rev. Harvey L. and Vera P. (Parsons) Rickert and married Marylou Lake on Oct. 4, 1943. She died July 5, 1995.
Surviving are children, Harvey A. Rickert Jr. of Wooster and Sharon L. Rickert of Cleveland; and two grandchildren.
James Austin
BREWSTER -- James L. Austin, 88, Brewster Park Assisted Living, 264 Mohican St., formerly of Orrville and Canal Fulton, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at Massillon Community Hospital.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville, with Pastor John Miller officiating.
There will be no calling hours. Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, is handling arrangements.

He was born June 5, 1911, in Orrville to James L. and Nora (McKee) Austin Sr., and married Grace Lucille Zimmerman. She died March 23, 1970. In 1972, he married Margaret J. (Copley) Kovein. She died in 1991.
Surviving are stepchildren, Randy Kovein and his wife, Deborah, of Bolivar, Joseph Kovein and Gloria White, both of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ronald Kovein of Cincinnati; and 14 step-grandchildren.
Frank Brumme
MILLERSBURG -- Frank P. Brumme, 90, of Millersburg, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 4, 2000, at Sunset View Skilled Nursing Home in Millersburg.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Killbuck United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jake Rupple officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Millersburg.

He was born Dec. 22, 1909, in Holmes County to Bruno Richard and Catherine (Scheibe) Brumme and married Narene Hawk on Aug. 11, 1932. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Mary Catherine Pahoundis, Kenneth and Dale R. Brumme, Joann Denevan and Barbara Anderson, all of Millersburg; an adopted daughter, Connie Hawkins of Killbuck; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Willard Hurt
WOOSTER -- Willard J. Hurt, 72, of Horn Nursing Home, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at Cleveland Clinic, after an extended illness.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with the Rev. William Valentine officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.

He was born June 3, 1927, in West Virginia, to George and Lucy (Hachett) Hurt and married Pauline Pack on June 14, 1951. She died May 26, 1999.

Mary Alice Taylor
LAKEVILLE -- Mary Alice Taylor, 71, 2612 State Route 179, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at her residence.
There will be no services or calling hours. Johnston-Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve, is handling arrangements.
She was born July 1, 1928, in Orrville to Uri and Ruth Knowlton and married Dale Richard Taylor on May 27, 1950. He survives.
Other survivors include children, Ginger Hamrick of Akron, Dayle Tucker and her husband, Michael, of Wooster and Richard Taylor of Lakeville; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a sister, Irene Whitcomb and her husband, Charles, of Cassville, Mo.
Cassius Wright
ORRVILLE -- Cassius M. Wright, 60, 1767 Lynn Drive, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at his residence after an apparent heart attack.
Private graveside services of the cremains will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.

He was born Sept. 14, 1939, in Walpole, N.H., to Cassius M. and Hazel (Shequin) Wright Jr. and married Helen Bowers on Sept. 1, 1962, in Wooster. She survives.
Other survivors include sons, Andrew Wright and his wife, Rena, of Orrville and Christopher Wright of Chicago; three grandchildren; brothers, Daniel and Robert Wright, and a sister, Katherine Wright, all of Bellows Falls, Vt.
Jack Kelley
ASHLAND -- Jack S. Kelley, 72, of Ashland, died Saturday evening, Jan. 1, 2000, at Samaritan Hospital.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church with Pastor Thomas Snyder officiating. Military services will be conducted by the Ashland County Joint Veterans Council following services. Burial will be at Ashland Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Van Hove Funeral Home with the family being present from 7-9 p.m. Elks services will be held at 7 p.m.
He was born June 30, 1927 in Hayesville, the son of Clarence M. and Sylvia Seymour Kelley.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen D. and Robert Ransom of Savannah and Brenda K. and Russell Metz of Ashland; two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith D. and Debbie L. Kelley and Jim and Sue Kelley, all of Ashland; five grandchildren, Luke Kelley, Brock Kelley, Douglas Ransom, Erin Ransom and Nicholas Kelley and three sisters, Mary Anderson and Ruth Butdorf, both of Ashland and Judy Fotofili of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mr. Kelley was married Feb. 3, 1956 to Barbara B. Bright who preceded him in death on Sept. 14, 1990.
Rosie McMillan
RITTMAN -- Rosie Lynn McMillan, infant daughter of David and Lori (Schaad) McMillan, 157 N. Second St., died shortly after birth on Saturday, January 1, 2000, at University Hospital in Cleveland.
Services were held today (Monday) at the Rittman Cemetery. The Rev. Ron Williams officiated.
Arrangements were handled by Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman.
Surviving in addition to her parents are a brother, Matthew of the home and grandmother, Barb McMillan and Jim Copley of Rittman.
Sharon Poindexter
WOOSTER -- Sharon Kay Poindexter, 57, 628 Nold Ave., died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at Akron General Hospital.

She was born Aug. 8, 1942 in Peru, Ind. to Artie Freeman and Catherine Bernice (Harding) Ellis.
She had worked for Westinghouse for many years.

JEROMESVILLE -- Evelyn I. Spade, 80, 25 E. South St., died Saturday evening, Jan. 1, 2000, at Wooster Community Hospital.

NORTH LAWRENCE -- Marie C. Staver, 88, formerly of North Lawrence, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center, Orrville.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, Canal Fulton with the Rev. Lowell Gerber officiating. Burial will be at Newmans Creek Cemetery, North Lawrence.

DOYLESTOWN -- George Kunkle, 85, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000.
Memorial service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Country Chapel with Pastor Jim Easterling officiating. Family will receive friends Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

He was born in Akron was a graduate of Ellet High School. He had been a resident of Doylestown since 1975.

APPLE CREEK -- Freda Susanna Lisk, 94, formerly of 157 Mill St., died Tuesday evening, Oct. 10, 2000, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Bauer and Turner Funeral Home in Woodsfield with Rev. William Valentine officiating. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery in Lewisville.

She was born Nov. 13, 1905 in Lewisville to Charles Frederick and Anna Belle (Morris) Stauch.
