He was born Jan. 28, 1957 in Medina to Thomas Harold and Helen Mae (Boone) Pursley.
Surviving are his wife, Ann (Cavanaugh) Pursley; his parents of Seville; two sisters, Jacqueline Pursley of Seville and Tina (Gregory) Frary of Lodi; two brothers, Thomas Jr. (Janice) Pursley of Medina and Jerry (Nancy) Pursley of Columbus and nieces and nephews.

LOUDONVILLE -- Frank D. Harris, 85, 588 Township Road 2474, died Sunday evening, Oct. 1, 2000, in Colonial Manor Health Care Center, Loudonville, after a brief illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville with the Rev. Gary Pollock officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in Loudonville Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 14, 1914 in Knox Township, Holmes County, to Ed and Sylvia (Hawkins) Harris.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry "Whitey" and Susan Harris of Loudonville and Robert and Barbara Harris of Waterford, Mich.; his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Gary McClure of Loudonville; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Louella Richey of Newark and Emma Gray of Mount Vernon.
Bishop Dan Schrock
MILLERSBURG -- Bishop Dan P. Schrock, 87, 4678 Township Road 628, died Monday, October 2, 2000, at Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg, following a brief illness.
Services will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the family residence with Bishop Aden J. Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery, Salt Creek Township, Holmes County.

He was born Nov. 11, 1912 near Walnut Creek to Peter P. and Sarah (Miller) Schrock and married Elizabeth R. Miller on Jan. 11, 1934. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Alvin J.C. (Ella) Raber of the home; six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Bena Schlabach of Berlin; two brothers, Roman P. Schrock and Alvin P. Schrock, both of Walnut Creek.
Maude Jackson
ARSHALLVILLE -- Maude M. Jackson, 87, 9022 Frase Road, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at Dunlap Memorial Hospital in Orrville, following a short illness.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church near North Lawrence with the Rev. Douglas Meek officiating. Burial will be at Newmans Creek Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 21, 1912 in Canton to Avery and Rachel (Grise) Sheaffer and married Ralph W. Jackson on Oct. 21, 1935 in New Cumberland, W.Va. He died in 1977.
Surviving are her daughters, Carol (Richard) Jones of Orrville and Alice Jackson of Marshallville; sons, Larry (Hazel) Jackson of North Lawrence and Neil Jackson of Orrville; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Don Cole
ASHLAND -- Don I. Cole, 85, of 1610 Township Road 1153, died at Brethren Care Village in Ashland, Saturday morning, Sept. 30, 2000, following a long illness.
He was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Aug. 9, 1915 to Roscoe A. Cole and Jennie Blanche Kurtz Cole Siegmann.
For the last 61 years he was married to Ruth E. Zehner and they were married on June 16, 1939. She survives him and he is also survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and James Miller of Shelby, and Meredith and Leo Genereux of Mount Vernon and Natalie and Doug Scott of Wooster; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 508 Center St., Ashland with Pastors Sanford Mitchell and Robert Pflueger officiating. Burial will be in the Ashland County Memorial Park.

Norman Cooke
ASHLAND -- Norman "Norm" Richard Cooke, 76, of 528 Cherry St., Ashland, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2000 at Mifflin Care Center in Mansfield, after a year long illness.
He was born Feb. 4, 1924 in New London to Lester Allen and Helen Roorbach Cooke.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Rider Cooke, whom he married on May 30, 1944. Also surviving are his two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert and MaryLou Cooke of Lexington and Richard Cooke of Ashland; two daughters and son-in-law, Randi and Denny Bittle of Ashland and Renee Burns of Wooster; nine grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.
Also surviving are three brothers, Walter Cooke of Salem, Ind., Harold Cooke of New London and Russell Cooke of Pine Island, Florida.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday at Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home in Ashland.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Christ Community Evangelical Free Church, 1272 Ashland County Road 758, in Savannah with Pastor Jerry Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery.

MASSILLON -- Jimmy D. Dixon, 57, of Massillon, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000.

He was born Sept. 29, 1943 in Canton to Roger and Madeline (Stalnaker) Dixon.

WOOSTER -- Sylvia Lurie Pill, 77, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Horn Nursing Home, Wooster.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9282 Acme Road, Seville with Pastor Gerald Keller officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Wadsworth.

He was born Dec. 10, 1934 in Akron to George F. and Marion C. (Knecht) Mullin and married Barbara E. Schoenhals on Feb. 16, 1957. She survives.

MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn. -- Annice "Betty" Snyder, 71, 2138 Crossroad Drive, formerly of Orrville, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Services will be Friday at 8 p.m. in the Chapel at Percy-Hux Funeral Home in Mountain City, Tenn., with Jim Hutchinson officiating. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Phillippi Cemetery.

She was born to Walter Henry and Polly (Arnold) Shupe and married Frank Hardy Snyder. He died in 1980.

SUN CITY, Ariz. -- Paul R. Sommer, 84, 10813 Wedgewood Drive, formerly of Orrville, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 26, 2000, at Boswell Memorial Hospital in Sun City.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Donald H. Rickard, 71, 653 Monument Road, Apt. 1311, Jacksonville, Fla. 32225, died Friday evening, Sept. 22, 2000, at Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health.
Services were held Sept. 26 at Eternity Funeral Home, with Pastor Jamie C. Rickard, his grandson, officiating.
He was born June 13, 1929, in Fairfield, Ill., to Perry and Clara (Lindsey) Rickard and married Lois B. Griffin on June 11, 1948. She survives.

WOOSTER -- Mildred I. Steiner, 91, formerly of Winter Street, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at Glendora Health Care Center, after an extended illness.
