DALTON -- Ellen L. Groves, 62, 415 W. Schultz Ave., died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at her home.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home with the Rev. Ermon French officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was born March 18, 1938 in Erbacon, W.Va. to Alva and Lillian (Snyder) Wilson.
Surviving are her husband, William O. "John" Groves, whom she married March 28, 1963; children, Elizabeth A. (Dave) Barnett of Wooster, Abraham L. (Marie) Groves of Dublin and Ted D. Groves of Buckeye, Ariz.; six grandchildren; brothers, Charles Wilson of Wooster, John Wilson of Sugarcreek, Omar Wilson of Smithville and Randall Wilson of Pomeroy and sisters, Geraldine Gaston of Guysville, Jane Barker and Carroll Kovall, both of Wooster.

William Coulter
WOOSTER -- William N. "Bill" Coulter, of 1822 Pine Cove, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000.
A memorial service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church, Wooster. Friends may visit the family at the church one hour prior to services or join them for lunch at the close of the service. Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, Wooster, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to either Hospice Visiting Nurse Service, Attn: Development Foundation Office, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron 44333 or to the Building Fund of Salem Lutheran Church, 4873 Cleveland Road, Wooster 44691.
William, the son of Clyde Mason and Ima Ruth Coulter, was born in Pittsburgh, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Will (Cyndi) Shaffer of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; a son, Daniel William Coulter of Shreve; a brother and sister-in-law, Marvin (Vidah) Coulter of Worthington and a step-grandson.

Alvin Whitt
BEACH CITY -- Alvin T. Whitt, 72, of Beach City, died Saturday evening, Sept. 9, 2000, at Aultman Hospital, Canton, after a brief illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Lantzer Funeral Home, Beach City with the Rev. Jeff Coggins officiating. Burial will be made in South Lawn Cemetery, Beach City.
Friends may call Wednesday from 10-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
He was born at Basin, W.Va. to Tolbert and Nora E. (Sizemore) Whitt and married Georgia M. Kegley. She died Oct. 23, 1999.
Surviving are sons, Clifford Thomas of Beach City, William Edward of Carrolton and James T. of Gainesville, Ga.; two daughters, Elizabeth Ellen Eason and Hazel Marie Raber, both of Shreve; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul of Massillon and Raymond of Pinesville, W.Va. and two sisters, Ethel of Pinesville, W.Va. and Twila of North Carolina.

Dorothea Spigelmire
WOOSTER -- Dorothea Spigelmire, 92, of Dover Road, Wooster, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at Glendora Health Care Center.
Services will be Tuesday at noon at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, with the Rev. O.J. Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster; or to First Church of God, 1953 Akron Road, Wooster 44691.
She was born Dec. 2, 1907, in Wooster to Reezin and Mary (Aukerman) Franks and married Floyd Spigelmire on June 14, 1927. He died in 1955.
Surviving are children Evelyn (Howard) Rowland and John (Oma) Spigelmire, both of Wooster; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and sisters Mildred Steiner and Helen McKee, both of Wooster.

Michael Smith Sr.
WEST SALEM -- Michael J. Smith Sr., 47, of West Salem, formerly of Northfield, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at the Cleveland Clinic.
Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church in West Salem, with the Rev. Carl Uhler officiating.
Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem.
He was born May 24, 1953, in Cleveland to Sylvester and Theresa (Wagner) Smith.
Surviving are children, Jennifer (Joseph) Hamey of Seville and Michael J. Smith Jr. of Northfield; two grandchildren; his parents of West Salem; a brother, Carl Smith of Creston; and a sister, Honora (Phil) Powers of Iowa.

Kenneth Hofacker
WOOSTER -- Kenneth J. Hofacker, 75, 4671 Overton Road, died Friday afternoon, Sept. 8, 2000, at his home.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Rev. Jerry Durham officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.

He was born March 4, 1925, in Wooster to Harry and Nellie (Boney) Hofacker.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah (Withrow) Hofacker, whom he married 52 years ago in Corsicana, Texas; sons and their wives David and Christine A. Hofacker of Orrville and Phil and Laura Hofacker of Wooster; a daughter-in-law, Betty Hofacker of Wooster; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Luella Battig of Wooster; a brother, Guy Hofacker of Owenton, Ky.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Evelyn Norris
LAKEVILLE -- Evelyn May Norris, 82, 5722 County Road 50, died Friday morning, Sept. 8, 2000, at Aultman Hospital in Canton after a short illness.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. Burial will be at Nashville Cemetery.
Friends may call two hours prior to the services at the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 18, 1917, in Glenmont to Albert and Maude (Zollars) Wilson and married Guy C. Norris on Dec. 21, 1939. He survives.
Other survivors include sons and their wives, Larry and Opel Norris of Huntington, W.Va., and Kenneth and Linda Norris of Wooster; grandchildren and their spouses, Ken and Jill Norris of Apple Creek, James and Chris Norris of Wooster, David Norris of Georgia, Neal and Sherry Ferrell and Rick and Shelby Corns, all of Huntington, W.Va., and DeeAnn Johnson of Millersburg; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence Purdy of Glenmont, Alberta Utterback of Loudonville and Mrs. Robert (Jeanette) Spitler of Shreve; sister-in-law, Freida Case and her husband, Louie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roy Miller
SUGARCREEK -- Roy J. Miller, 76, 7446 Stony Point Road, died Thursday, Sept. 7, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, after an extended illness.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Grace Mennonite Church in Berlin, with Pastor Levi Sommers officiating. Burial will be at Levi Yoder Cemetery, Sugarcreek Township, Tuscarawas County.
Friends may call today (Saturday) from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
He was born Aug. 13, 1924 in Holmes County to Joe Y. and Sarah (Fry) Miller and married Elizabeth Raber on Oct. 21, 1951. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Mrs. Aden (Ruby) Troyer and Robert Miller, both of the home, Wayne (Chris) Miller and Aden (Freda) Miller, both of Sugarcreek, Joseph (Clara) Miller of Dundee, Roy (Viola) Miller Jr. of Dover and Atlee (Anna Mae) Miller of Baltic; 17 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Florence Balder
SUGARCREEK -- Florence L. Balder, 94, of Sugarcreek, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at Hennis Care Centre.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Butler-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek, with the Rev. Chris Rhodes officiating. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral Home.
She was born Oct. 28, 1905, in Coshocton County to Ernest and Laura Belle (Snyder) Balder.
Surviving are a brother, Dan Balder of Dover; and nieces and nephews.

Lawrence Geisinger
SMITHVILLE -- Lawrence C. Geisinger, 79, 627 Dan St., died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at Smithville Western Care Center.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Smithville Mennonite Church with the Revs. Burt Parks and Richard Ross officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville, or one hour prior to the services at the church.
He was born Jan. 25, 1921, in Chatham to Vern and Mary Elnora (Crosby) Geisinger and married Effie Yoder on April 18, 1954. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Calvin (Patricia) Geisinger of Seattle, Wash., Dean Geisinger of Wooster and Connie Geisinger of Smithville; two step-grandchildren; and brothers, Robert Geisinger of Spencer and Elden (LaVerne) Geisinger of Litchfield.

Monroe Coblentz
FREDERICKSBURG -- Monroe J. Coblentz, 84, 6095 Township Road 606, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at his home after a period of declining health.
Services will be Monday at 9 a.m. at the residence with Bishop Mart R. Mast officiating. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery, Salt Creek Township, Holmes County.
Friends may call anytime at the residence. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling arrangements.
He was born July 31, 1916, near Fredericksburg to Jacob and Dena (Miller) Coblentz and married Martha Hostetler on Nov. 26, 1940. She died Dec. 25, 1989.
Surviving are children, Mrs. Roman (Edna) Raber of Butler, Leroy (Mary) Coblentz and Alvin (Ella) Coblentz, both of Fredericksburg, Mrs. Wayne (Barbara Ann) Kline of Holmesville, Mrs. Albert (Ruth) Yoder of Millersburg, and Elsie and Dorothy Coblentz of the home; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, John Coblentz of Lockwood, Mo.; and a sister, Mrs. Levi (Edna) Yoder of Fredericksburg.

Florence Wally
APPLE CREEK -- Florence A. Walley, 67, 80 Rustic Lane, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at Dunlap Memorial Hospital in Orrville.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, with the Rev. William H. Valentine officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.

She was born Jan. 7, 1933, in Natchez, Miss., to William C. and Annie L. (Latham) Reed.

Viola Fross
WOOSTER -- Viola Fross, 81, of Oil City Road, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at West View Manor in Wooster.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, with the Rev. B. Richard Ross officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

She was born May 29, 1919, in Killbuck to William and Nellie (Phillips) Richards and married Walton Fross on Aug. 3, 1936. He died in 1991.
Surviving are children, Dave (Sharon) Fross of Canton, Ron Fross and Glenna Morris Fross, both of Wooster; sisters, Thelma Troyer of Millersburg, Ruth Fuller of Wooster and Edith Hamsher of Dover; a half-sister, Phyllis Giaugue of Stillwell; and a half-brother, Gilbert Richards of Mount Vernon.

Ruth Cameron
JEROMESVILLE -- Ruth E. Cameron, 84, formerly of 27 North St., died Thursday morning, Sept. 7, 2000, at Kingston of Ashland.
Services will be Saturday at noon at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville, with Pastor Beryl Baum officiating. Burial will be at Jeromesville Cemetery.

She was born May 18, 1916, in Ashland County to Cleveland I. and Eva (Baldner) Sellers and married Fred Cameron. He died Dec. 26, 1969.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Constance K. and Thomas West and William B. and Karen Cameron, all of Jeromesville; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Vera Scott of Loudonville.

Dorothy Leininger
HUNTINGTON -- Dorothy M. Leininger, 89, of Huntington, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at Oberlin Medical Center, after a short illness.
She was the mother of Ardith Roberts of Lodi and Roy Leininger of Wooster.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at United Church of Huntington in Wellington, with the Rev. Stephen Carmany officiating. Burial will be at Huntington Township Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Friday) from 6-9 at the church.

She was born May 4, 1911, in Wellington to Earnest and Mabel (Mills) Beam and married Hart Leininger. He died in 1997.
Other survivors include children, Annabelle Leininger of Oberlin, and Lois Lang of Pennsboro, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lena Strickler of Lorain and Helen Beopple of Elyria.

M. Charlene McCluggage
SHREVE -- M. Charlene McCluggage, 82, 208 E. South St., died Thursday morning, Sept. 7, 2000, at the home of her daughter.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Shreve United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bill Lawson officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Township Cemetery, Holmesville.
Friends may call tonight (Friday) from 6-9 at Johnston-Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve.
The family suggests contributions be made to American Heart Association, Wayne County Branch, P.O. Box 267, Wooster 44691.
She was born Aug. 5, 1918, in Pike County, Ill., to Wade and Myrtle (Hoskin) Sneed.
Surviving are children and their spouses, Bob McCluggage of Clinton, Ill., Gene and Bonnie Fetzer of Creston, LeRoy and Karen Siegenthaler and George and Marie Friday, all of Shreve, Jan Lilley, Mickey Rings and Deb Hendrix, all of Wooster and Carol Hoover of Millersburg; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Sons, Kenny and Richard, and a grandson died previously.

Gary Scheibe
MILLERSBURG -- Gary L. Scheibe, 62, of Millersburg, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 5, 2000, at Wooster Community Hospital, after an extended illness.
Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Rev. Karl Stonebraker officiating. Burial will be at Killbuck Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born Dec. 8, 1937, in Clark to Russell and Bernice (Easter) Scheibe and married Betty Fath on April 8, 1972. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Tammy Posey of Wooster, Todd Scheibe of Oregon and Timothy Fath of New Albany, Ind.; his mother, Bernice Scheibe; grandchildren, Lee Houseworth and Phillip and Jonathan Posey, all of Wooster, Anjia Scheibe of Oregon, Jordan, Shelby, Caleb and Jena Fath, all of Indiana; a brother, Jan Scheibe and his wife, Loretta, of Killbuck; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry and Jean Fath, Jim and Pat Bender, Herb and Nancy Gardner, Bill Fath, Carroll and Kay Huffman, Mike and Diana Fath, Bill and Becky Augsburger and Henry and Robin King; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful friend, Abby.

Victor Tanner
WEST SALEM -- Victor R. Tanner, 12, of West Salem, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Savannah.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Truth Baptist Church in West Salem, with Pastors Raymond Miller and Paul Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Hazzard Cemetery, West Salem.

He was born Nov. 21, 1987, in Medina to Michael and Rhonda (Graham) Tanner.
Surviving are his parents; brothers, Derrek and Roger Tanner, both of Lodi, Danny Tanner of Creston; sisters, Terra Lyn Tanner of West Salem, Jessica and Ruby Tanner, both of Lodi; half-brothers, William and Michael Case of West Virginia; maternal grandmother, Paulette Szaniszlo and her husband, Frank, of Lodi and maternal grandfather, Bobby Graham and his wife, Connie, of Creston.

George Richnasky
WOOSTER -- George E. Richnasky, 88, a resident of a nursing home in the Wooster area, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was the father and father-in-law of Janice and Jerry Biro of West Salem.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church in Lakewood. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland.
Friends may call today (Thursday) from 2-4 and 7-9 at Joseph Misencik Funeral Home, 12500 Madison Ave., Lakewood.
Other survivors include a son, Dennis Richnasky and his wife, RoseAnne, of North Olmsted; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
His wife, Mary (Stupiansky) Richnasky, died previously.
