She was born Aug. 8, 1943, in Genoa, W.Va., to George and Sara (Robinson) Walker and married Douglas Sparks on Jan. 23, 1964. He survives.

BALTIC -- Sarah M. Yoder, 59, 320-B N. Butler St., died Friday morning, Jan. 21, 2000, at her residence.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Countryside Chapel near Baltic, with the Rev. Daniel Meininger officiating. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery in Sugarcreek.

She was born April 21, 1940, in Millersburg to Moses and Susie (Raber) Troyer and married Nelson J. Yoder. He survives.

MILLERSBURG -- Mary E. Calame, 87, of Millersburg, formerly of Loudonville, went home to be with the Lord Thursday evening, Jan. 20,2000, after a short illness.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with the Rev. Bill Seymour officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

She was born March 18, 1912, in Cooperdale to Justin and Arretta (Lash) Wright and married Ivan F. Calame on June 24, 1931. He died July 11, 1985.
Surviving are daughters and their husbands, Evelyn and Arlie Rodhe and Connie and Randall Banbury, all of Millersburg and Aretta Shonk of Reston, Va.; four grandsons; four granddaughters; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Margaret Elder
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. -- Margaret Silver Elder, 80, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000.
She was the mother of Nancy Rowley of Wooster.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Park Circle Presbyterian Church, North Charleston, S.C. Private burial will be at Riverview Cemetery. J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, is handling arrangements.

She was born in Wooster to Foster and Alice (Warner) Silver.

Dennis Bennett
WOOSTER -- Dennis E. Bennett, 91, 425 W. Liberty St., died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at Horn Nursing Home, Wooster.
Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Smithville Cemetery, with Pastor Ted Rust officiating.
There will be no calling hours. Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville, is handling arrangements.
He was born May 9, 1908, in Stanley, N.M., to Jermiah and Minnie May (Phillips) Bennett and married Mary C. Berkey on May 5, 1946. She survives.
Other survivors include nieces and nephews.
A son, Dennis Bennett, died in 1996. A brother, William Bennett, also died previously.

CHIPPEWA LAKE -- David A. Brentlinger, 45, of Dawnshire Drive, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at Medina General Hospital.
Memorial services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 516 W. Sunset Drive, Rittman, with the Rev. Dr. J.A. Burton officiating.

He was born Dec. 20, 1954, in Allen County to Lanford and Connie (McClain) Brentlinger.

Margaret Wertz
WOOSTER -- Margaret Elizabeth Wertz, 84, 311 E. South St., entered into rest Friday evening, Jan. 21, 2000 in the intensive care unit at Wooster Community Hospital, after a long illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. at Custer Funeral Home, Wooster, with the Rev. William H. Valentine officiating. Burial will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Flatwoods Cemetery, Flatwoods, W.Va.
Friends may call two hours prior to the services at the funeral home.
She was born March 17, 1915, in Sutton, W.Va., to Amandy and Mary Jane (Smith) Stewart and married Glen Cochran. He died previously. In 1978, she married Clyde J. "Jack" Wertz in Lake Fork. He survives.
Other survivors include daughters, Mary Lou Phillips and her husband, Paul, of Canton, Julie "Jewel" Barnette of Wooster and Mrs. Francis Malcolm of Norfolk, Va.; six grandchildren, including a special grandson, Stephen Barnette and his daughter, Brittany Michelle; three great-grandchildren; and a good friend, Elizabeth Davis of Wooster.

JEROMESVILLE -- Marcie Lynne Hiller, 35, 1586 County Road 251, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at Cleveland Clinic.
Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, with the Rev. John McCourt officiating. Burial will be at Pioneer Cemetery.

She was born July 5, 1964, in Ashland County to Duane L. and Marilyn (Gongwer) Cline and married Doug Hiller on Aug. 13, 1983. He survives.

Helen Conkle
ORRVILLE -- Helen A. Conkle, 90, formerly of 956 S. Vine St., died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville, after a long period of declining health.

She was born June 19, 1909, in Litchfield to Rolla and Mary (Hastings) Dague and married Earl M. Conkle on June 6, 1934, in Elyria. He survives.

Viola Smith
ORRVILLE -- Viola (Lutz) Linich Smith, 80, 1980 Lynn Drive, formerly of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Cleveland, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center, Orrville.
Memorial services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Fairmont Presbyterian Church in Cleveland Heights with the Rev. Jody LaFort officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at Knollwood Cemetery, Mayfield Heights.

She was born April 12, 1919, in Cleveland to Alfonse and Caroline (Grolle) Lutz.
Surviving are daughters and their husbands, Bonnie and Edward Roxbury of Hudson, Rosemary and James Downing of Pepper Pike and Vicky Linich Vogel of Cleveland Heights; stepchildren and their spouses, Scott and Jan Krawec of Canal Winchester; Holly and John Lehlbach of Westlake and Marcia Marhefka of Port Richey, Fla.; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Naomi Schroeder of Kalamazoo, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Gilbert H. Smith, died Aug. 7, 1999. They were married on Aug. 14, 1965 in Painesville.
Wilma Skabar
ORRVILLE -- Wilma J. Skabar, 83, 215 Pearl St., died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at the home of her son, Michael Skabar's, after a lengthy illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Orrville, with the Rev. Father Paul Wysocki officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, where the Women's Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold services at 8:30 p.m.

She was born Feb. 12, 1916, in Cleveland to Michael and Lottie (Skariezsk) Galowicz and married John Peter Skabar on Nov. 14, 1936, in Cleveland. He died Jan. 8, 1979.
Surviving are children and their spouses, John and Carolyn Skabar of Zanesville, Gerry and Ron Walko of South Lyon, Mich., Michael Skabar and his friend, Belinda Wiley, Carol and Nathan "Bud" Bishop and Marge and Don Aukerman, all of Orrville; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eleanor Zewalk of Bedford.
Werner Beugger
MANSFIELD -- Werner W. "Buggs" Beugger, 77, of Mansfield, died Saturday afternoon, Jan. 22, 2000, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, after a short illness.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Lexington Avenue, Snyder Funeral Home in Mansfield, with the Revs. William M. Sharp and Harrison R. Aspinall officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted.

BURBANK -- Glen D. Cross, 83, of Cockrell Road, died Sunday afternoon, Jan. 23, 2000, at Smithville-Western Care Center in Wooster.

DELPHOS --Bernard Ray "Bernie" Paugh II, 49, 834 W. Skinner St., formerly of Shreve and Wooster, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at his residence.
There were no services. Cremation has taken place with Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville.
He was born July 31, 1950, in Chicago, to Bernard Ray and June M. (Hamilton) Paugh I and married Terrie Dickson on Oct. 24, 1997. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his father and stepmother, Bernard Ray and Wilma Paugh of Shreve.
Martha Stuter
ORRVILLE -- Martha M. Stuter, 85, formerly of 1727 Meadow Lane, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center, Orrville, where she had resided for the past 4 1/2 years.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville, with the Rev. Tom Ledford officiating. Burial will be at Martins Mennonite Church Cemetery near Orrville.

Surviving are children and their spouses, Ken and Carol Stuter of Orrville, Bob and Alma Stuter of Upland, Calif., and Janet and Bob Blais of Canal Winchester; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Esther Falb of Orrville.
Virginia Ellenwood
BRADENTON, Fla. -- Virginia Fern (Scott) Ellenwood, 91, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Wooster, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at IHS of Riverfront Nursing Home in Bradenton, from natural causes.
Cremation is being handled by Bradenton Funeral Home in Bradenton, Fla. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date at Wooster Cemetery.

She was born July 26, 1908, in Wooster to Charles R. and Anna (Touhey) Scott and married Carl Weir Ellenwood. He died previously.

She was born April 8, 1932, in Cleveland to Jerry and Anna Nejedly.

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- David Harold Wigton, DVM, 52, of Glendale, Ariz., died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at his home.
Private family services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville. His brother, the Rev. James Wigton will officiate. Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville, is handling arrangements.
