OCEANSIDE, Calif. -- Clifford G. "Skip" Weirick, 73, 4820 Northerly St., died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Life Care Center, Vista, Calif.
Memorial service will be Friday, April 20, in California. His body has been cremated. Military services will be held. Entombment will be at Rosemont Naval Mausoleum in San Diego, Calif.
There will be no calling hours.

He was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Wooster, to Alvin and Ruth (Grossman) Weirick.
Surviving are a son, Rick (Jenee) Weirick of Apple Valley, Calif.; a brother, Harlan Weirick of Tescumseh, Mich.; sisters, Mrs. Roy (Jeanette) Schlabach of Apple Creek, Mrs. Charles (Jeannie) Chapman, Mrs. Richard (Cheryl) Bash and Mrs. Harry (Alida) Carter, all of Wooster and many nieces and nephews.
Wayland Miller
WADSWORTH -- Wayland Miller, 77, of Wadsworth, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at Hospice Care Center.
He was the father of Dennis (Jan) Miller of Orrville.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Copley United Methodist Church, 1518 S. Cleveland Massillon Road, Copley, with the Rev. George Cooper officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Hummel Funeral Home West, 3475 Copley Road, Copley.

Betty Bernhard
WOOSTER -- Betty Bernhard, 75, a resident of Wayne County Care Center since 1971, formerly of Creston, entered into rest Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 23, 2001.
Memorial services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at Wayne County Care Center, with the Rev. Rufus Thompson officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date at Wayne County Care Center Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, Wooster.

She was born Aug. 21, 1926, in Cleveland to John and Minnie (Stein) Bernhard.
Surviving in addition to other residents, friends and staff at Wayne County Care Center, she is survived by a dear friend, Marlene Bates of Mount Eaton.

William Kosier
NORTH LAWRENCE -- William J. "Bill" Kosier, 76, 16813 Back Massillon Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at Country Manor in Baltic.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Chapel of The Cross United Methodist Church in North Lawrence, with Pastor Lynn Masters officiating. Burial will be at Newman Creek Cemetery in North Lawrence.
Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church.

He was born April 17, 1925, in Marshallville, to Mervin and Freda (Jeannerett) Kosier and married Barbara Robart on July 24, 1952. She survives.
Other survivors include a sister, Margaret (Jay) Suttle of Orrville.

BATH -- Christopher Bryan Bechtel, 26, died peacefully Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, surrounded by loving family.
A celebration of Chris's life and spirit will be held Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Bath United Church of Christ, 3980 W. Bath Road. Friends are invited to bring stories, memories, pictures, candles and items they shared together. Friends who would like to speak are asked to call the family directly.
Visitation will be Thursday from noon-1 p.m. in the sanctuary at the church, where the service will be held at 1 p.m. Pastors Mark Frey and Jim Cunningham will officiate. Burial will follow immediately at Moore's Chapel Cemetery.

He will be missed by his brother and best friend, Chip, brother, Nick Zinni; parents, Ron and Janie Bechtel; grandmother, Anne G. MALTA -- Gabriel Alan Lapp, infant son of Matthew and Miriam (Miller) Lapp, 3661 Stoney Point Road, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron, due to heart complications.
He was the grandson of Daniel and Barbara Miller of Apple Creek.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Ebenezer Mennonite Church near Malta, with Raymond Barkman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call today (Tuesday) from 2-4 and 6-8 at the church.

He was born Oct. 2, 2001, in Malta, and is survived in addition to his parents, by sisters, Junita, Valerie and Regina and a brother, Matthias, all of the home; grandparents, Nelson and Anna Lapp of Malta; and great-grandparents, Cornelius and Mary Miller and Yost and Fannie Hostetler.
Loraine Taylor
CRESTON -- Loraine Taylor, 70, of Creston, died Monday morning, Oct. 22, 2001, at Wyant Woods Care Center.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, with the Rev. Donald Kuntz officiating. Burial will be at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.

She was born April 24, 1931, in Blue Run, to Albert and Opal (Green) Hackworth and married Orville D. Taylor Sr. on March 15, 1965. He died Dec. 27, 1999.
Surviving are children, Dean (Rhonda) Taylor of Portage Lakes, Clayton (Marsha) Taylor of Creston, Debbie (Steve) Brooks of West Salem and Pam Truman and Olan Wilt of Londonderry; stepdaughters, Lora (Dennis) Snyder of Orrville and Deanna White of Rittman; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her mother, Opal Boyes of Creston; brothers, Roy (Carmen) Hackworth and Larry (Pat) Hackworth, both of Florida; and sisters, Betty (Richard) Metheny and Janet Randolph, both of Creston, Avanella Baker and Linda (William) Frase, both of Seville.
Russell Chaney Sr.
MILLERSBURG -- Russell L. "Fat Head" Chaney Sr., 72, of Millersburg, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, after an extended illness.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home in Millersburg, with the Rev. Charles Lunsford officiating. Burial will be at Killbuck Cemetery, where military rites will be held by Killbuck Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7079.

He was born June 25, 1929, in Millersburg, to Thomas and Pauline (Lint) Chaney and married Mabel Plant on Dec. 18, 1998. She survives.

LEAWOOD, Kan. -- Monica Ann "Mimi" Butler, 41, of Leawood, Kan, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001.
She is survived by many relatives in the Wayne and Holmes County areas.
Memorial services were held Monday, Oct. 8, at United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kan.

ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Madelyn R. Simpson, 75, of Elizabeth Township, Pa., died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at UPMC McKeesport.
She was the mother of Patricia D. (Ron) Vicars of Orrville.

MILLERSBURG -- Martha L. Leaders, 86, of Millersburg, died Saturday evening, Oct. 20, 2001, at Majora Lane Care Center, Millersburg.
Graveside services will be today (Monday) at 3 p.m. at Apple Creek Cemetery with the Rev. David Carrick officiating.

She was born Aug. 17, 1915, in Polk, and was the daughter of Harry and Esther (McClelland) Hodgen. On Aug. 20, 1938, she married Robert Leaders. He preceded her in death in 1983.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Darlene Leaders of Millersburg; a granddaughter and a niece.

MASSILLON -- Charles William "Bill" Markusic, 81, of Massillon, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at Massillon Community Hospital, following a brief illness.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Vernell B. Markusic of Massillon; a son, Charles William Markusic Jr. of Poland, Ohio; a daughter, Frances B. Williams of Massillon; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter and a sister, Joan Hebert of Cockeyville, Md.
Ruth Morrison
WOOSTER -- Ruth L. Morrison, 92, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at West View Manor in Wooster.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth with the Rev. Dr. J. A. Burton officiating.
There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Gillman Funeral Home, Rittman.
She was born on July 12, 1909, in Wadsworth Township, to Carl and Ruth (Kunkler) Pifer.
Surviving are daughters, Norma Cummings of Wooster, and Vera Zimmerman of Altaloma, Calif.; a son, Roger Monbarren of Largo, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Albert Pifer of Wadsworth. Five stepchildren and several step-grandchildren also survive.
Her first husband, Laverne Monbarren, died in 1974; her second husband, Joseph Morrison, died in 1978.

MANSFIELD -- Daryl Prosser, 76, 50 Blymyer Ave., died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Mansfield Memorial Homes, after an extended illness.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 3 p.m. at Lincoln Heights Baptist Church. Burial will be held at a later date at Mansfield Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 31, 1925, in Shreve, to Jim and Effie Mark.
Surviving are brothers, Harold and Marien Mark, both of Wooster and Fred Mark of Orrville; a sister, Dorothy Wynn of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews.

SHREVE -- Lloyd M. Snyder, 70, 140 Orchard St., died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at Glendora Health Care Center.

HOMERVILLE -- William E. Vizer, 69, of Homerville, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, in Euclid.
Funeral Mass will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in West Salem, with the Rev. Carl Uhler officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
