Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown with the Revs. Lynn Garth and James Humphrey officiating. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 2, 1932, in Belmont County, to William O. and Iva (Sumption) Swallow and married Norman Johnston on June 4, 1954. He survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Rhonda (Bill) Peters of Orrville; son, Jay Johnston of Clinton Township, Mich.; brother, William (Donna) Swallow of Beallsville and sisters, Winnie (Robert) Shover of Orient, and Mary Smith of Dayton.
Carol Hershberger
DUNDEE -- Carol A. Hershberger, 30, 8069 Township Road 669, died Saturday evening, Oct. 6, 2001, at her home, following a 10-month illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the family residence with Bishop Harvey Bowman officiating. Burial will be in the Hershberger Cemetery, Paint Township, Holmes County.
Friends may call anytime at the residence. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling arrangements.
She was born March 25, 1971, in Holmes County, to Andrew and Nettie (Kurtz) Yoder and married Mervin A. Hershberger on May 23, 1991. He survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Mark, Diane and Kevin Hershberger, all of the home; her mother of Fredericksburg; a brother, Mark Yoder of Fredericksburg; three sisters, Mrs. Ray (Laura) Yoder of Fredericksburg, Mrs. Daniel (Marilyn) Mast of Dundee, and Mrs. Merle (Linda) Schlabach of Dundee; grandparents, Albert Yoder of Fredericksburg and Dan Kurtz of Dundee.
Her father died previously.

WOOSTER -- Shirley E. Damron, 87, 1056 Mindy Lane, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Centerville Baptist Church in Wayne, W.Va., with the Rev. John G. Damron officiating. Burial will be at Riggs Cemetery.

He was born March 17, 1914, in Wayne, W.Va., to Alex and Cassie (Hall) Damron.
Surviving are his wife, Fannie (Grizzel) Damron, whom he married on Dec. 9, 1939; a daughter, Shirley L. Lincicome of Wooster; a son, the Rev. John G. Damron of Brandon, Fla.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Lace Damron of Pritchard, W.Va., and two sisters, Pauline Newman of Kenova, W.Va., and Josephine Hatten of Tampa, Fla.

DALTON -- Angela Faye Charlton, infant daughter of Michael and Lois (Horst) Charlton of Dalton, was stillborn on Friday evening, Oct. 5, 2001, at Doctors Hospital in Massillon.
Graveside services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the County Line Mennonite Church Cemetery with ministers of the church officiating.

NEW BREMEN -- Jason D. "Racer" Avey, 30, 00334 Clover Four Road, formerly of the North Lawrence and Orrville areas, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident near Coshocton.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville. There will be no funeral services; the body will be cremated.
He was born Dec. 23, 1970, in Orange County, Calif., the son of John W. "Jack" and Dori (Bell) Avey.
He is survived by his mother; a brother, Eric (Dawn) Avey of Orrville, and a half-brother, John W. (Sylvia) Avey of Dallas, Texas.
Clara Miller
WALNUT CREEK -- Clara Rosa Miller, 88, of Walnut Creek and formerly of State Route 314, Johnsville, died Friday evening, Oct. 5, 2001, at her home, after a sudden illness.
She was born Aug. 20, 1913 in Bucklin, Kan., to Joni J. and Mary (Troyer) Miller. On May 6, 1939, Clara married Ray F. Miller. He survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorcas May and Jeffrey Weir of Dallas and Martha Kay and Roland Creed of Sandy, Utah; two sons and daughters-in-law, Nathan Ray and Viola Miller of Beach City and Daniel Jay and Joanne Miller of Franklin, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Miller of Harrisonburg, Va.; nieces, nephews.
Friends may call Monday, Oct. 8, 2001 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home in Mansfield. A service in celebration of her life will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Johnsville Mennonite Church, 7393 Township Road 242, Johnsville, with pastors Phil Stutzman and Lambert Sommers officiating. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery.

CANTON -- Gladys V. Aukerman, 85, of Canton, and formerly of Apple Creek, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, at Regency in Canton, following a period of declining health.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton with the Rev. Jacqueline McMillen officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Mount Eaton.

She is survived by four sons, Robert (Norma) Aukerman of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Harold Aukerman of Wooster, Jerry (Theresa) Aukerman of Lisbon, and Russell (Gayle) Aukerman of Massillon; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Joe (Esther) Erdy of West Mansfield and two brothers, Donald Simon of Brewster and Raymond Simon of Navarre.
Roy Pelfrey Sr.
RITTMAN -- Roy E. Pelfrey Sr., 71, formerly of Rittman, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, at Akron General Medical Center.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Gillman Funeral Home, Rittman with the Rev. Dr. William K. McComas officiating. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.

He was born July 11, 1930, in Wayne, W.Va., to Raymond and Ruth Pelfrey.
Surviving are his wife, Jacquelyn (Treen); a son, Roy E. (Yolanda) Pelfrey Jr. of Creston; a stepson, Kenneth Bowers of Barberton; stepdaughters, Deborah (Jeffery) Sherman of Akron, and Elaine Robinson of Barberton; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

MILLERSBURG -- Lloyd Baird, 75, of Millersburg, died Thursday afternoon, Oct. 4, 2001, at his home.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hasemeyer officiating. Burial will be at Fryburg Cemetery, Millersburg, with military rites being conducted by Millersburg American Legion Post 192.

He was born May 24, 1926, in Mendota, Ill., to Jesse and Sarah Suzanne (Smith) Baird and married Marjorie Schultz on Oct. 17, 1953. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children and their spouses, Mike and Ruby Baird of Millersburg, Maureen Adams of Elgin, Ill. and Mark and Karen Baird of Millersburg; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Louis Baird and Donald Baird and a sister, Margaret Thomas, all of Mendota, Ill.

MOUNT VERNON -- Norma J. Petry, 78, former resident of the Beechtree Apartments, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, at Glendora Health Care Center in Wooster.
Graveside services will be Monday at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, beginning at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Joe Blevins officiating.

She was born Jan. 16, 1923, in Jelloway, to O.E. and Laura Mae (Schurtz) Rudolph and married Edward "Eddie" Petry. He died previously.

CANAL FULTON -- Susan A. Smith, 97, of Canal Fulton, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at Massillon Community Hospital.

APPLE CREEK -- Marion Dale Meier, 91, formerly of Emerson Road, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at Carnegie Gardens Nursing Center in Melbourne, Fla.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Apple Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Grindstaff officiating.

Surviving are a stepson and daughter-in-law, Larry and Beverly Walter of Melbourne, Fla.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Thorben Meier of Connecticut and Nevin Meier of California.

Rose Jusli
CRESTON -- Rose Jusli, 96, of East Britton Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at Lorantffy Care Center in Copley.
She was born June 29, 1905, in Hungary, to Stephen and Priscilla (Balla) Simon and married John Jusli. He died in 1978.
Surviving are a son, John E. Jusli of Creston and a grandson, Stephen and wife, Sue Jusli.
There will be no local calling hours or services. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Effie Price
MEDINA -- Effie Price, 72, of Medina, passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001.
She was born July 18, 1929, in Brownsville, Tenn., to Lonnie and Roberta Jones and married Thomas Price. He died previously.
Surviving are six stepchildren, Chris (Pearl) of Texas, James of Medina, Carolyn (Anthony) Dennis of Medina, Sherry (Dave) Quinn of Medina, Wallie (Lisa) of Medina, Susie (Johnny) Taylor of Oklahoma; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Green of Tennessee; two brothers, John Ed Jones and Will Jones of Tennessee; many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at Fellowship Baptist, 901 W. Liberty St., Medina, Friday, at 1 p.m. Eulogy will be given by Pastor John R. Peterson and assisted by the Rev. Douglas Price. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Wadsworth.
Family will receive friends at Fellowship Baptist Church, Friday one hour prior to services.

RANGE CITY, Fla. -- Melvin L. "Butch" Cutlip, 52, of Orange City, Fla., died Tuesday, July 10, 2001, in Broward County, Fla., following injuries sustained in a semi-truck accident.
Memorial services will be Saturday, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m. at First Assembly of God, 1000 McPherson St., Mansfiel, with Pastor Ross Wiseman officiating. Cremation has taken place.

Mr. Cutlip was born in Ashland County to Oliver Garland and Florence (Bookman) Cutlip on Oct. 14, 1948.
He married Karen (Scarpete) on Oct. 26, 1970, in Clifton Forge, Va. She survives. In addition to his wife and father, Oliver Garland (Cindy) Cutlip of Canton, he is survived by a son, Melvin L. Cutlip Jr. of Blacklick; a daughter, Stacey Cutlip of Mansfield; four sisters, Mrs. Billy (Sharon) Wright and Mrs. Wade (Connie "Kay") Spitler, both of Wooster; Carolyn Book of Copley and Mrs. Jessie (Nellie) Ritchey of Lexington; three grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

PAINESVILLE -- Elma E. Loxterman, 82, of Painesville, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at her residence. She had also lived in Fairport Harbor, Springfield, Millersburg and Cape Coral, Fla.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 508 Eagle St., Fairport Harbor, with the Rev. Hannu Vepsalainen officiating. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Fairport Harbor.
