ASHLAND -- Ethel Ann Scott, 69, of County Road 1153, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, at her residence.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Ashland County Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Floyd Glick officiating. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park.
Friends may call one hour prior to servicea on Thursday at Ashland County Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.

She was born Aug. 21, 1932, in Pittsburgh, to Richard Carl and Wilma Herman (Schwartz) Gruntz. She married Jack H. Scott on June 15, 1952. He died Oct. 16, 1986.
Surviving are children, Jack (Tracy) Scott of Richmond, Va., Lonie (Michelle) Scott of Norfolk, Va., Rich (Jean) Scott of Ashland, Becky (Tim) Tallon of Bethel Park, Pa., Sindy (Chuck) Rowe of Millersburg and Loretta Scott of Ashland; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Joshua Henning
WHEATON, Ill. -- Joshua Michael Henning, infant son of Rick and Valerie (Estrada) Henning, 926 N. Howard St., and formerly of Dalton, died shortly after birth on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, in Illinois.
Services will be Friday at 6 p.m. at Wheaton Bible Church in Wheaton, Ill., with Elder Phil Passon officiating. Burial will be in Sonnenberg Mennonite Church Cemetery near Kidron.
Local memorial services will be held at a later date.

James Pontius
NISKAYUNA, N.Y. -- James W. Pontius, of Niskayuna, N.Y., formerly of Orrville, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2001.
Memorial services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the First Reformed Church of Schenectady in Schenectady, N.Y.
There will be no calling hours.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Kathryn (Sharp) Pontius; children, Howard "Tod" Pontius of Austin, Texas, Carolyn Tail of Porcupine, S.D., Jon Pontius of Bombay, N.Y., and Janne Mathes; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Shablesky of Trotwood.
Richard Tyska
RITTMAN -- Richard K. "Rick" Tyska, 47, of Rittman, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Gillman Funeral Home, Rittman, with the Rev. James E. Watt officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Seville.

He was born May 11, 1954, in Wadsworth.

Jonas Miller
FRESNO -- Jonas H. Miller, 84, 30639 Coshocton County Road 12, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at his residence, after a brief illness.
Services will be Monday at 9 a.m. at the Miller residence, with Bishop Ervin A. Yoder officiating. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery in Millcreek Township, Coshocton County.

He was born June 7, 1917, in Holmes County to Harry B. and Clara (Hershberger) Miller and married Katie Ann Mast on Dec. 8, 1943. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Eli A. (Clara) Miller of Shreve; two sons, Wayne J. (Sara) Miller of Fresno and Eli J. (Esther) Miller of Millersburg; 24 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; a brother, Eli H. Miller of Dundee; and three sisters, Sovilla Keim of Shreve, Edna Hershberger of Dalton and Sarah Yoder of Millersburg.
W. Robert Johnston
CANTON -- W. Robert Johnston, 81, 4515 22nd St. NW, died Saturday morning, Sept. 15, 2001, at West View Manor in Wooster.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Colerain Presbyterian Church in Colerain with Elizabeth Wycoff-Graf officiating. Burial will be at Holly Memorial Gardens.

Esther Kurtz
LOUDONVILLE -- Esther Joan Kurtz, 74, 960 Township Road 3475, died Friday evening, Sept. 14, 2001, at Samaritan Regional Health System, after a long illness with kidney failure.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with the Rev. James Bennett officiating. Burial will be at Loudonville Cemetery.

She was born March 5, 1927, in Loudonville to Gailord "Ike" and Bessie Mae (Eberhart) Hunter and married Robert J. Kurtz. He died June 23, 1999.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Diane Kurtz and Gary and Anna Kurtz, all of Loudonville, and Kevin and June Kurtz of Ashland; a daughter, Brenda Kurtz, of Ashtabula; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Theresa Hunter of Fredericktown.
Roger Snure
DALTON -- Roger Dean Snure, 60, of Dalton, died peacefully Friday morning, Sept. 14, 2001, at Wooster Community Hospital, after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Dalton Cemetery with Jim Lawrence officiating.

CRESTON -- Vonnie L. Beaudoin, 92 Shawnee Lane, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at Rittman Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Harry Miller
MAYFIELD -- Harry H. Miller, 103, formerly of Mayfield, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, at Grand Village Manor in Twinsburg.
Services will be Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster with the Rev. Christopher Cottrell officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.

He was born Feb. 5, 1898, in Wooster to Milton and Katherine (Scott) Miller. His wife, Della May Miller, died in 1990.

WADSWORTH -- Rilla M. Coffman, 99, of Wadsworth, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital.

She was born on April 23, 1902, in Kalida, to William and Lydia (Blosser) Krouse and married Cletus D. Coffman. He died Nov. 8, 2000.

Matthew Atherton
LOUDONVILLE -- Matthew S. Atherton, 17, 435 N. Water St., died Wednesday morning, Sept. 12, 2001, at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, from injuries sustained Tuesday in an automobile-bicycle accident near Perrysville.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville.

Icie Miller
ORRVILLE -- Icie D. Miller, 97, 1307 N. Crown Hill Road, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, at Dunlap Memorial Hospital, Orrville.
Services will be Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Mennonite Church near Smithville with the Rev. Norma Duerksen officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Smithville.

She was born June 28, 1904, in Orrville, to Amos and Amanda (Smucker) Yoder and married Dan W. Miller on May 3, 1925. He died March 6, 1994.

Mary Erb
MOUNT EATON -- Mary R. Erb, 79, of Mount Eaton, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at Doctors Hospital in Massillon.
She was born in Mount Hope on June 12, 1922, to the late Reuben and Clara (Troyer) Yoder. She married Samuel P. Erb who is deceased.
She is survived by five children, Clara Erb of the home, Fannie Erb-Miller (Ed Miller) of Millersburg, Verna Erb of Apple Creek, Peter M. (Louisa) Erb of Mount Eaton and Leona (Dave) Hershberger of Millersburg; five grandchildren; a sister, Verna Bowman of Mount Hope; a brother, Dan (Marilyn) Yoder of Sugarcreek.
Services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant View Mennonite Church with the Revs. Joe Hochstetler and Freeman Hostetler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
