BREWSTER -- Florence L. Kaser, 80, of Brewster, died Friday, April 20, 2001, at Massillon Community Hospital, following a period of declining health.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Spidell Funeral Home in Brewster with the Rev. Ray Peters officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Wilmot.

She was born Jan. 27, 1921 in Zanesville to Alpha and Alta (Swope) Vernon and married Vernon D. "Fat" Kaser on July 21, 1939. He died Nov. 9, 1988.
Surviving are a son, Ronald (Becky) Kaser of Brewster; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

DOYLESTOWN -- Donald W. Gardner passed away on Friday, April 20, 2001, after a lengthy illness.
He was born Nov. 19, 1922, in Doylestown, to Odilo and Mary (Yarman) Gardner. He married Martha Schrader on June 19, 1948.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Martha; sons, Dr. Gerald (Kym) of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Kenneth (Dana) of Athens, David (Jill) of Doylestown, Robert of Wadsworth, Mark (Tina) of Doylestown and Jay (John) of Lakewood; grandchildren, Steven, Matthew, Kelli, Johanna, Theresa, Logan and Sara. Don is also survived by siblings, Francis Hennessy of Atlanta, Ga., Iva Garbenis of Westchester, Herman of Norton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Fr. David McCarthy celebrant. Burial will be at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

MANSFIELD -- Jean E. Wood, 78, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at SCCI Hospital, following a two-month illness.
Jean was born May 29, 1922, in Congress, to Robert Edwin and Monica E. (Morr) Essick and married William Jackson Wood. He died Oct. 3, 2000
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Vanessa Wood of Ashland and Bob and Marcia Wood of Columbus; four grandchildren, Jared and Kathleen of Columbus and Paxton and Bryce of Ashland; a sister and brother-in-law, Georgianna and Kirby E. Smith of Mansfield; nephews, Pat and Mike Smith and Mike Wood; nieces, Danni Martin and Sandy Ramsay.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Finefrock-Williams Funeral Home, 350 Marion Ave., Mansfield, with the Rev. Gloria Loughman and the Rev. Roger E. Smith officiating. Burial will be at Congress Cemetery, Stratton Road, Congress Township.

SEVILLE -- John J. Rohrer, 83, of Seville, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 19, 2001, in Seville.
He was born June 17, 1917, in Seville to Henry and Margaret (Eshelman) Rohrer.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara (Dailey) Rohrer, to whom he was married 50 years, and their chosen family, Gloria Jean Forste and Naome and Dwaine Carter of Lodi; grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob and Nathan Carter and several cousins.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Armstrong-Waite Funeral Home, 25 Pleasant St., Seville with Dr. Ted Elsenheimer officiating. Burial will be at Mound Hill Cemetery in Seville.

SPENCER -- Lois K. Simmerman, 88, of Spencer, passed away Friday, April 20, 2001, at the Ohio Pythian Home in Medina, where she had resided the past four years.
She was born in Chatham Township on May 30, 1912, to George and Blanche (Robinson) Zeigler and married Frank Simmerman. He died previously.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Alice) Williamson of Wooster; two sons, Sam (Beverly) Simmerman of Chicago, and Seth (Lisa) Simmerman of Knoxville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Richard and Kristina Simmerman and a brother, Walter Zeigler of Spencer.
Funeral service will be Monday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St., Spencer. The Rev. James Ellison of Spencer will officiate.

Raymond Horn
SHREVE -- Raymond E. Horn, 86, 8661 Township Road 553, died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at Wooster Community Hospital.

He was born Oct. 25, 1914, near Chestnut Ridge in Holmes County, to Thomas and Martha (Scheibe) Horn and married Mary Jane Wilson on May 24, 1947. She died Feb. 17, 1980.
Surviving are two children, Barbara (Garry) Still and James Horn, both of Shreve; three grandchildren and a brother, Marshall (Glenna) Horn of Shreve.

Kenneth Guthrie
MILLERSBURG -- Kenneth E. Guthrie, 74, of Millersburg, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2001, following a brief illness.
At his request, the body will be cremated. Services will be held at the Shepler Church, Clark, on Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. James Puz officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the County Council Veteran Services immediately afterwards. Mr. Guthrie's ashes will then be taken to Keys Cemetery, Salem, W.Va.

Mr. Guthrie was born in Girard on May 11, 1926 to Wallace Guthrie and Lela (Cox) Guthrie and married Mary Ellen Dawson. She died previously. He then married Sandra Kay Guthrie. She died Jan. 23, 2001.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Mary Ann Wade of Norfolk, Va., Robin (Guthrie) Lydic and David Lydic of Big Prairie, Kenny Guthrie of Coshocton, Robert and Jodie Guthrie of West Lafayette, Allen Duayne Welch II of Salem, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren and three brothers, Paul Guthrie, Roger Guthrie and Jack Guthrie, all of Millersburg.

WALNUT CREEK -- Katie L. Gerber, 94, of Walnut Creek, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Walnut Creek.

WOOSTER -- Donald E. Post, 68, of Wooster, died Friday evening, April 13, 2001, at University Hospital, Cleveland, following an apparent heart attack.
Memorial services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, Wooster, with Pastor William H. Valentine officiating. Cremation has taken place. The cremains will be interred at a later date at the convenience of the family.
He was born Nov. 16, 1932, in Jefferson (Wayne County), to Leroy E. Sr. and Edith (Warfel) Post. He married Patricia A. Hunt on March 7, 1981, in Wooster. She died Jan. 28, 2001. His first wife, Hazel, died previously.
Surviving is a stepson, James C. Vore of Lima; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Marita Dee (Tracey) Mayle of Canton; seven step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Lorita) Post of Shreve; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at True Church House of Prayer to All Nations in Orrville with Charles Winters officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
