WEST SALEM -- Paul V. Metheney, 74, of West Salem, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at his home.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Grace Brethren Church in Homerville with Pastor Brad Kelley officiating. Burial will be at Hazzard Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by James Stevenson American Legion Post 499 of West Salem.
Friends may call this evening (Wednesday) from 7-9 at Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

He was born June 22, 1926, in Preston County, W.Va., to Paul and Bernice (Cunningham) Metheney.
Surviving are his wife, Janet (Skinner) Metheney, whom he married Sept. 23, 1949; three children and their spouses, Amy and Karl Kalinowski of Streetsboro, Beth and Lucas Clark of West Salem and Dana and Katie Metheney of Lodi; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Eileen McWilliams of Akron.
Virginia Reed
Washington, D.C. -- Virginia Miller Reed, a retired Department of the Army civilian personnel management specialist, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Georgetown University Hospital, of complications following surgery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Parker.
Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Richard (Patricia Miller) Quinby of Columbus; two nephews, William Parker (Shannon) Quinby of McLean, Va. and Richard Emerson (Stephanie) Quinby of Wellesley, Mass. and four grandnieces, Jennifer, Allyson, Katherine Ann and Lee Emerson.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Wooster Cemetery.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Wooster and Washington, D.C.

WOOSTER -- Judith K. Habegger, 62, 3323 Bayberry Cove, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Central Christian Church with the Rev. David Stout officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

She was born Feb. 21, 1939, in Wooster, to Harry and Etha (Seevers) Harpster and married Harley D. Habegger on Oct. 1, 1961. He died July 17, 2000.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Scott Habegger of Shreve and James B. Habegger of Wooster; a daughter and son-in-law, Jill D. and Brad Broussard of Leesburg, Va.; her mother of Wooster and two brothers, Jerry Harpster of Wooster and Richard Harpster of Wadsworth.
Jerleen Hyder
WOOSTER -- Jerleen Hyder, 70, of Wooster, passed away Monday evening, April 2, 2001, at Glendora Health Care Center, Wooster, following an extended illness.
There will be no public services. Cremation has taken place, and private services will take place at the convenience of the family. Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, Wooster, is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Hyder was born Aug. 4, 1930, in Jellico, Tenn., to Ted and Martha (Leach) Davis.

Carey of Shreve, Mrs. Edward Jr. (Debra L.) Graham of North Wilkesboro, N.C., Mrs. George (Brenda G.) Carey of Orrville, Carol D. Weber of Dalton and Mrs. Todd (Cynthia M.) LODI -- Lois L. Stewart, 89, of Lodi, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at West View Manor in Wooster.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, with the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.

NEWCOMERSTOWN -- Laura M. Scheibe, 86, of Newcomerstown, entered into rest, Monday morning, April 2, 2001, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital, following a long illness.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, Wooster, with the Rev. Claude L. McComas officiating, followed by interment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Scheibe was born Aug. 27, 1914, in Newcomerstown, to George and Florence (Malatt) Herbert.
She married James J. Scheibe. He entered into rest May 20, 1988, in Wooster.
She is survived by three sons, Ellis D. (Mercedis) McIntire of Newcomerstown; Clarence (Nancy) McIntire of Wooster and Carl (Lynn) McIntire of Ridgecrest, Calif.; two brothers, Raymond (Fern) Herbert of West Lafayette and William (Joann) Herbert of Port Washington; a sister, Mrs. Roland (Edna) Chaney of Newcomerstown; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Anna Troyer
MILLERSBURG -- Anna Mae Troyer, 69, of Millersburg, died Monday morning, April 2, 2001, at her home following a brief illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Pleasant View Mennonite Church near Berlin with the Revs. Joe Hochstetler and Freeman Hostetler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to services Wednesday.

She was born Aug. 24, 1931, in Holmes County, to John and Elizabeth (Miller) Barkman and married Melvin J. Troyer on Feb. 1, 1951. He died March 26, 1995.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Dale (Mary Ellen) Shull of Fresno, Mrs. Garrett (Twila) Gatti of Wilmot, Mrs. Stewart (Shirley) Sommers of Berlin, Christina LaCreta of Strasburg, Dorothy Troyer of the home, and Loretta Troyer of Midvale; two sons, Clyde Troyer of Millersburg and Marcus Troyer of Dundee and eight grandchildren; four brothers, Emanuel Barkman of Fredericksburg, Albert Barkman of Lakeland, Fla., Atlee Barkman of Benton, and Raymond Barkman of McConnelsville.
Leonard Luther
DOYLESTOWN -- Leonard A. Luther, 78, 13901 Mount Eaton Road, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Barberton Citizens Hospital.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Rittman Cemetery with the Rev. Otto Perry officiating.

He was born Dec. 15, 1922, in Kenova, W.Va., to Jeffrey and Margaret (Perdue) Luther and married Madeline Dawson on July 19, 1947. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son, Kevin Luther, and a daughter, Tamara Luther, both of Doylestown and a brother, Vernon Luther of Pikeville, Ky.

DOYLESTOWN -- Betty Dugan, 91, of Doylestown, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Doylestown Health Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, with Father David McCarthy as celebrant. Burial will be at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

WADSWORTH -- Rose M. (Winkler) Popp, 90, of Wadsworth, formerly of Doylestown, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Altercare of Wadsworth after a brief illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. at Hilliard & Mullaney Funeral Home in Wadsworth, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Doylestown.

WOOSTER -- N. Mae Hoskins, 93, died Saturday evening, March 31, 2001, at Smithville-Western Care Center where she had resided for the past four years.
She had formerly made her home at 905 Portage Road, Apt. 93, College Hills Retirement Village for 27 years,
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, Wooster, with Doug Hayes, first counselor to Bishop Royce Thornton conducting the service. Garth Cahoon and George Dean will also speak. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Shreve.

She was born Sept. 23, 1907, in Briceville, Tenn., to Abraham Calvin and Margaret Elizabeth (Chambers) Roysden and married Robert Hoskins on Feb. 16, 1924, in Blue Diamond, Ky. He died April 20, 1963.

Mabel Friley
WAYNE, W.Va. -- Mabel (Frazier) Keck Friley, 90, of Toms Creek Road, Wayne, W.Va., died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital.
She was the mother of James (Irene) Keck of Rittman.
Services were held Friday, March 30, at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne W.Va., with pastors Randy Osburn and Mike Dillon officiating. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery, Wayne, W.Va.
She was born April 1, 1910, in Kenova, W.Va., to Alonzo and Eller (Ball) Frazier.
Surviving in addition to her son, are children, Barbara (Carl) Wilson of Washington, W.Va., and Sam (Beuleah) Keck of Prichard, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Woodrow (Arlene) Frazier of Coopersville, Mich.; and a sister, Gertrude Ross of Wayne, W.Va.
Her husbands, Oliver F. Keck and Delbert Friley, died previously.
Evelyn Miller
ORRVILLE -- Evelyn A. Miller, 54, 228 E. Church St., died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at her residence after a six-month illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at East Union Mennonite Church, 10678 Old Lincoln Way, Orrville, with Leonard Wenger, Delmar Falb and Paul Mullet officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the church, or one hour prior to services at the church.

She was born April 25, 1946, in Dalton to Nathan and Bertha (Neuenschwander) Steiner and married Larry H. Miller on Sept. 11, 1971, in Wilmot. He survives.

Frances Kurtz
SMITHVILLE -- Frances E. Kurtz, 79, 214 Hooley Drive, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Cleveland Clinic.
Memorial services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Mennonite Church near Smithville, with the Rev. Norma Duerksen officiating. Private graveside services will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Smithville.

NORTH LAWRENCE -- Leslie S. Stites, 87, of North Lawrence, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Doctors Hospital in Massillon.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd., Akron, with Pastor Doug Meek officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery, where Firestone Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3383 will conduct military rites.

He was born in Barberton.
