He was born Oct. 29, 1919, at Bucyrus, to Louis and Genieva (Marchand) Shiffer and married Fredona Bauman on Oct. 29, 1945. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Fred (Nancy) Shiffer and a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Pamela) Haynes, both of Rittman; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

RITTMAN -- Irvin C. "Pete" Luikart, 89, of Rittman died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at Apostolic Christian Home.
Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Rittman Cemetery with the Rev. Richard A. Lapehn officiating.
There will be no calling hours.

Viola Miller
MOUNT EATON -- Viola R. Miller, 55, of Mount Eaton, died Thursday morning, Feb. 8, 2001, at Massillon Community Hospital.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Longenecker Mennonite Church with the Revs. Glenn Coblentz and Dennis Hostetler officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton or one hour prior to services at the church on Sunday.

She was born May 3, 1945, in Sugarcreek, to Roman and Verna (Mullet) Miller and married John H. Miller on Dec. 13, 1969. He survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Jason Miller of the home; three daughters, Lisa, Jessica and Tracy Miller, all of the home; two sisters, Alta and Miriam Miller, both of Wooster; four brothers, Earl Miller of Mount Eaton, Roy Miller of Orrville, Daniel Miller of Dalton, and Lloyd Miller of Massillon.
Aldine Muller
WOOSTER -- Aldine E. Mullet, 83, 2672 S. Honeytown Road, entered into rest Tuesday morning, Feb. 6, 2001, at Glendora Health Care Center, Wooster.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, Wooster, with the Rev. Robert Stull officiating, followed by interment at Apple Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call this evening from 6-8 and one hour prior to services.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Aldine Mullet Memorial Fund, in care of Moreland United Methodist Church, 138 E. Moreland Road, Wooster 44691.
Mrs. Mullet was born July 20, 1917, in Apple Creek, to George D. and Jennie Sarah (Lillich) Hartel and had been a Wayne County resident all of her life.
She married Rudy Mullet on March 11, 1937, in Newark. He entered into rest in January 1992.
She is survived by two sons, George C. (Cindy) Mullet of Sterling and Chester (Tammy) Mullet of Wooster, a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Janice) Fry of Apple Creek; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two step-great-granddaughters.
Jane Knisely
WOOSTER -- Jane Elizabeth Knisely, 86, formerly of College Hills Retirement Village, died Wednesday morning, Feb. 7, 2001, at the Wayne County Care Center, where she had been residing after a period of declining health.
There will be private family memorial services at a later date.

She was born in 1914, to Bert and Mayme (Morris) Hendershot and married Homer H. Knisely, who passed away in 1993.
Surviving are two children, both of Wooster, Ruby (Willis) Selvage and Butch (Geri) Knisely. In addition she had four grandchildren, Scott (Tanya) Hume, Lisa (Tory) Walker, Angela Rodriguez and Christopher Costanzo. She also took much joy in her six great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Kelsey and Kaden Hume, Kellan and Kady Walker and Desmond Rodriguez.
Edgar Haberecht
WOOSTER -- Edgar W. Haberecht, 89, formerly of Emalene Drive, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at Horn Nursing Center, Wooster.
Private family services will be held with the Rev. Robert Meyer officiating. Burial will be at Wayne Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.

He was born Nov. 27, 1911, in Gates Mills, to Henry and Mary (McKee) Haberecht and married Fay D. Dunlap on Dec. 20, 1957. She died Aug. 11, 1997.
Surviving are a son, Carl Haberecht of Millersburg and a sister, Mary Taylor of Wellington.

SHREVE -- Robert J. Shammo, 65, 10582 Schwartzwalder Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, while fishing in Lake Erie.

Mac Taylor
SHREVE -- Howard W. "Mac" Taylor, 73, 7026 Lakeside Drive, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, following an ice fishing accident off Middle Bass Island, Lake Erie, where he had owned a cabin for many years.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Lakeville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Loudonville American Legion.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve.

He was born July 13, 1927, near Big Prairie, to Harold and Helen (Wachtel) Taylor and married Helen Graham on Dec. 25, 1948. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Bob (Diana) Taylor of Lakeville, Don (Shelly) Taylor of Loudonville and Susie (Ron) Clipp of Shreve; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a half-brother, Dick (Sandy) Taylor of Wooster and a stepsister, Ruby (Levi) Miller of Alliance.
Mary McVay
MILLERSBURG -- Mary J. McVay, 93, of Millersburg, passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 6, 2001, at Majora Lane Nursing Home, Millersburg.
She was born to John C. and Leetha (Hall) Taylor, on May 7, 1907, in Winfield, W.Va. She married Wesley McVay, Aug. 16, 1924. After her husband's death on Nov. 18, 1951, she devoted her whole life to her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are sons and their wives, Leonard and Nora McVay of Warsaw, Glen and Pam McVay of Killbuck; her daughters, Anna McClain of Colorado and Mabel Swindaman of Wooster. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Saturday, Feb. 10, from 1-3 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m. at South Lawn Cemetery in Coshocton with Ivan Ford officiating.
Stanley Puster
LAKEVILLE -- Stanley W. Puster, 60, 2398 County Road 37, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, as the result of a fishing accident on Lake Erie.
He was born in Wooster on Dec. 12, 1940, the son of Wade and Wilma (Heffelfinger) Puster.
He is survived by his wife, Frances (Procknow) Puster, who he married Jan. 4, 1958; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Elizabeth and David Lackey of Perrysville, Gwen and David Dawdy of Stoughton, Wis. and Jennifer Puster of Lakeville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Vaughn and Vicky Puster and John and Melissa Puster, all of Shreve; seven grandchildren, Emily, Carolann and Joshua Puster, Suzanne, Rebecca and Bradly Lackey and Kristopher Dawdy and a brother, Charles Puster of Shreve.
Services will be held at St. John Lutheran Church in McZena Saturday at 4 p.m. with Pastor Craig Edwards officiating.
Friends may call at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Pauline Eberhart
LOUDONVILLE -- Pauline J. Eberhart, 92, formerly of South Mount Vernon Avenue, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 6, 2001, at Griffeth Nursing Home, Ashland, after an extended illness.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Ashland County Memorial Park.
There will be no calling hours.

She was born July 1, 1908, in McZena, to Gust and Edith (Shutt) Smith and married Harold Eberhart. He died April 30, 1979.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.

SUGARCREEK -- Albert E. Shrock, 75, 9943 Copperhead Road NW, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, at Union Hospital in Dover, following a brief illness.
Services will be Friday at 9 a.m. at the Shrock residence with Bishop Abe Schlabach Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery, Wayne Township.

He was born Dec. 11, 1925, in Tuscarawas County, to Eli N. and Barbara (Mullet) Shrock and married Mary Ella Raber on Nov. 17, 1949. She survives.

WOOSTER -- Victor William Carpenter, 57, of East Moreland Road, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, in Lewisburg, Tenn., while returning home from a trip to the western U.S.
He was born Feb. 4, 1944, in Canton, to William Lawson and Marie Beatrice (Steiner) Carpenter.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown with the Rev. James Edwards officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted.

ORRVILLE -- Edmond M. Baker, 75, 10341 Lincoln Way East, No. 35, died at his residence on Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, following an apparent heart attack.
Services will be held at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Stephen P. Olsen officiating. Burial will take place in Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery near Smithville.

He was born in Corning, N.Y., on Jan. 7, 1926, the son of Clyde M. and Bernice M. (Clark) Baker and was united in marriage to Patricia Mandell on Feb. 3, 1952. She died July 30, 1998.
He is survived by sons, E. Michael (Maureen) Baker of Columbus, Stephen Baker of Painesville, and John (Sharon) Baker of Chardon; daughters, Sue (Fred) Jeanneret and Kimberly (William) Bartleson of Orrville and Patricia Woodside of Fairport Harbor; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and Dusty, his pet dog and faithful companion.
Dr. Walter Kasserman
WINESBURG -- Dr. Walter Henry Kasserman, 83, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
A memorial service was held Monday, Jan. 29, at 3 p.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in Winesburg. The Rev. Walford Scofield officiated. Burial was at North Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Hospital Foundation, or Zion United Church of Christ, Winesburg.

He was born May 7, 1918, in Hannibal, to Henry D. and Elizabeth (Tisher) Kasserman and married Pauline Fair in 1955. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his children, Dr. David (Laurie Thompson) Kasserman, Dr. Jane Kasserman and Anne (Michael) Rodgers and two grandchildren.
