MOUNT EATON -- Frances M. Peraldo, 74, of Mount Eaton, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at Wayne General Hospital in Wayne, N.J., after a brief illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church in Brewster, with Father John Tully officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Mount Eaton.
Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton, where a prayer service will be held at 5:45 p.m.
She was born April 23, 1926, in Massillon, to Sandor and Frances (Taffenhart) Csonka and married Walter Peraldo on Aug. 26, 1946. He died July 23, 1980.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Richard (Mary Ann) Bissell of Mount Eaton and Mrs. Nick (Delores) Tedeschi of Pompton Lakes, N.J.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

RITTMAN -- Christine A. Wood, 41, 14619 Shondel Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at her home.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, with Pastor Robert Webb officiating. Burial will be at Rittman Cemetery.

BALTIC -- Michael Mast, infant son of Jesse and Wilma (Keim) Mast, 131 Gause Drive, was stillborn Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
Graveside services will be today (Thursday) at 3 at Union Hill Cemetery in Sugarcreek, with the Rev. Dwight Mason officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
Other survivors include a brother, William Jesse of the home; and grandparents, Christian and Elizabeth Mast of Millersburg, Arie Keim of Berlin and William Keim of Austin, Texas.

WALNUT CREEK -- Roland R. Shutt, 82, a resident of Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Walnut Creek since 1997, formerly of Baltic, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, after a brief illness.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in New Bedford, with the Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating. Burial will be at Zion Hill Cemetery in New Bedford.

He was born April 30, 1918, in Clark Township, Holmes County, to Josiah and Celesta (Levengood) Shutt and married Marcille Funk. She died June 6, 1996.
Surviving are children, Glenda (Thomas) Wise and Paul R. (Rebecca) Shutt, both of Baltic, Dean R. Shutt of Strasburg and Owen R. Shutt of Stonecreek; and eight grandchildren.

WOOSTER -- Carl J. Veit, 85, 4534 Hunters Chase, died Thursday evening, Jan. 18, 2001, at Wooster Community Hospital.

BALTIC -- Dena A. Troyer, 76, 5478 Township Road 116, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at her residence after an extended illness.
Services will be Sunday at 9 a.m. at the residence, with Bishop Ivan R. Troyer officiating. Burial will be at Stutzman Cemetery, Mechanic Township, Holmes County.

She war born Dec. 22, 1924, in Holmes County to Andrew J. and Susie (Raber) Yoder and married Ab D. Troyer on Nov. 25, 1947. He survives.

ORRVILLE -- Catherine M. Morrison, 92, formerly of Orrville, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at Oak Manor Nursing Center, Largo, Fla.

NEW PHILADELPHIA -- Ester A. Gerber, 62, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at Aultman Hospital in Canton.

She was born March 30, 1938, near Clark, Holmes County to Thomas and Myrtle (Craig) McCune and married Lowell E. Gerber on Sept. 15, 1963 in Salineville (near Roswell). He survives.
Other survivors include children, Daren Gerber of Dover and Darci Gerber of Akron; brothers, Robert (Sue) McCune and Lester (Harriet) McCune, both of Millersburg and Richard (Linda) McCune of Glenmont; and several nieces and nephews.

CANTON -- Roland A. Saurers, 94, of Canton, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Altercare of Canton, after a brief illness.
He was the father of Carol (Tom) Lovell of Wooster.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Reed Funeral Home in Canton, with the Rev. Glendon Osborn officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Burial Park.

He was born Aug. 21, 1906, in Maysville to Alfred and Dora (Smedley) Saurers and married Clover Aston on March 28, 1936. She survives.

NAVARRE -- K. Sam Pebler, 51, of Navarre, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Doctors Hospital in Massillon.
He was employed at Rainbow Slaughter in Creston.

He was born Sept. 30, 1949, in Martins Ferry to Milton and Josephine (DeFrank) Pebler and married Karen Henning on June 12, 1969. She survives.

MOUNT EATON -- Charles M. "Hun" Hofacre, 83, of Mount Eaton, died Thursday evening, Jan. 18, 2001, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, after a period of declining health.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton, with Pastor Mark Fowler officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Mount Eaton.

He was born July 23, 1917, in West Lebanon to Roy and Sadie (Swartz) Hofacre and married Marie C. Reed on Oct. 12, 1940. She survives.

SHREVE -- Nancy Fae Flinner, 72, 3841 Shreve Eastern Road, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at the home of her daughter, after a five-month period of declining health.
Services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve, with the Rev. Bill Lawson officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.

She was born May 20, 1928, in Milo, W.Va., to William and Maggie (McKown) Sears and married Melvin R. Flinner on Aug. 26, 1948. He died May 3, 1971.
Surviving are children, Don (Nancy) Flinner of Lakeville, Ron (Sheila) Flinner and Candy (Walter) Brown, both of Shreve and Ken (Joan) Flinner of Wooster; seven grandchildren; a brother, Glenn Sears of Orrville; a sister, Virginia Hershberger of Jeromesville, a half-brother, Ora Parsons of Orrville; and a half-sister, Ona Johnson of Wooster.
In addition to her husband, a twin sister, Annie Mae Shaffer, a half-brother, Creed Parsons and a half-sister, Mae Daniels, died previously.
Dorothea Sohar
KIDRON -- Dorothea Sohar, 86, of Kidron, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville, after a period of declining health.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Salem Mennonite Church near Kidron, with the Rev. Darrell Ediger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was born Dec. 28, 1914, in Kidron to Jacob J. and Caroline (Hofstetter) Lehman and married Charles Sohar on Oct. 14, 1945. He died May 14, 1993.
Surviving are children, Shelley (Jack) Salsburey, Nikki (Rebecca) Sohar and Jan (Cindy) Sohar, all of Kidron and Norman (Sandy) Sohar of Orrville; a daughter-in-law, Janie Sohar of Elkhart, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Orpha Hartzler
STRASBURG, Pa. -- Orpha Hartzler, 92, died Thursday evening, Jan. 4, 2001, at the home of her daughter in Strasburg, Pa. She was formerly of Smithville and Orrville.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Smithville Mennonite Church, with the Revs. Herman Myers, Richard Ross and Burt Parks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

LOUDONVILLE -- Bee Burgess Elder, 88, 741 Pennell Drive, died Friday morning, Jan. 5, 2001, at Wooster Community Hospital, after a one-month illness.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville, with the Rev. Gary Pollock officiating. Burial will be at Loudonville Cemetery.

She was born Nov. 4, 1912, in Fredericktown to Jacob Elmer Blanchard and Ruth (Sargent) Studor and married Charles O. Burgess. He died in 1969. She then married Guy P. Elder. He died in 1979.
Surviving are sons, Gene (Virginia) Burgess, Ned (Judy) Burgess and Jack (Karen) Burgess, all of Loudonville; a stepdaughter, Louise (Phil) Ritchey of Millersburg; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Charles R.
