WADSWORTH -- Ruth A. Weckbacher, 84, of Wadsworth, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at Altercare of Wadsworth.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church in Wadsworth, with the Rev. James L. Singleton officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman, or one hour prior to the services at the church.

She was born May 6, 1917, in Mansfield, to Charles and Lena (Volk) Powell and married Ralph Weckbacher. He died in 1998.
Surviving are children, Donald (Harriet) Weckbacher of Chesapeake, Va., and Marcia (Lloyd) Sigrist of Grandbury, Texas; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Clyde Powell of Roan Mountain, Tenn.; and sisters, Edna Pifer of Wadsworth and Lois Bain of Lynchburg, Va.
Billy Workman
WOOSTER -- Billy Ray Workman, 71, of Wooster, left this world Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, to be with his Saviour Jesus Christ, his wife, Nellie and his loved ones gone before him. He died at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem, with Pastor Floyd Koenig and the Rev. Carlos Browning officiating. Burial will be at Albert Cemetery, Harrisville Township, Medina County.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services.

He was born Sept. 8, 1929, in Wayne, W.Va., to Willard and Mary (Brooks) Workman.
Surviving are children, Billy R. (Barbara) Workman and Michael (Jeanne) Workman, both of West Salem, Christopher Workman, Brenda Sue (Henry) McCormick and Violet Debo, all of Lodi, Vanessa (Ronald) Holbrook of Wooster and Loretta (Bernie) Adkins of Mansfield; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Tex Workman of West Virginia; sisters Fay Staley, Tutti Carter and Betty Harman, all of West Virginia, and Lynn Oldenburg of California; and his girlfriend, Delma Vance of Wooster.
His wife, Nellie Workman, died in 1991.
Charley Kegley
ELKTON, Md. -- Charley M. Kegley, 65, of Elkton, Md., died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del.
He was the father of Betty Arnold of Wooster.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handed by Hicks Home for Funerals, P.A., 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, Md.
He was born June 14, 1936, in Cleveland, Va., to Kyle and Marie (McGlothlin) Kegley.
Other survivors include children, David Walker of Conowingo, Md., and Christina Wilson of Rootstown; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Annette Arva of Radcliff, Ky., and Sue Coleman of Paducah, Ky.; brothers, Jack and Stan Kegley, both of Elkton, Md., Donald Kegley of Alexandria, Va., and Gordon Kegley of Hickory, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Andrew Vavrek
LAKEWOOD -- Andrew J. Vavrek, 92, of Lakewood, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001.
Family services and burial were held Friday, Aug. 10.

He was born Dec. 7, 1908, in Cleveland and married Bettie Donahue Vavrek on April 1, 1996. She survives and was formerly of Holmes County.
Surviving are a daughter, Rosemary Shock of Pittsburgh; stepchildren, Richard Donahue of Bay Village, Tom Donahue of Orlando, Fla., and Mary Jo Williams of Creston; two grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Mary Mazurka of Cleveland;
His first wife, Frances Vavrek, died previously.
Juanita Kemerley
OCEOLA -- Juanita C. Kemerley, 56, of Oceola, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.
She was the aunt of Karen (Larry) Hoxworth of Wooster.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Oceola Tabernacle of Praise, with the Rev. Carl Angel officiating. Burial will be at Oceola Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, or one hour prior to the services Thursday.

She was born July 14, 1945, in Marion, to Robert and Lois (Cox) Lee and was raised by Reuben and Venita Ellis.
Other survivors include her husband, Norman Kemerley, whom she married Nov. 23, 1969; a daughter, Lezli Kemerley of Oceola; a granddaughter; Reuben Ellis of Upper Sandusky; a half-brother, Charles McMahan of Marion; and a nephew.

MILLERSBURG -- Ira T. "Ted" Plant, 76, of Millersburg, died Sunday evening, Dec. 31, 2000, at the home of his daughter in Wooster, after a short illness.
Graveside services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Killbuck Cemetery, with the Rev. David Carrick officiating.

He was born March 26, 1924, in Akron, to Charles E. and Rose (Swigert) Plant and married Marjorie Arnold. She died Sept. 25, 1995.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathy Flury of Wooster; four grandchildren; brothers, Carlos Plant of Loudonville and William Plant of Millersburg; and a sister, Mabel Chaney of Millersburg.
Mabel Crawford
HOLMESVILLE -- Mabel Crawford, 85, formerly of Holmesville and Walnut Hills Retirement Home, died Monday morning, Jan. 1, 2001, at Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Holmesville United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Susan Stevens and Randy Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Township Cemetery, Holmesville.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, where Eastern Star services will be held at 8 p.m.

She was born May 27, 1915, in Salt Creek Township, east of Holmesville to James L. and Bessie (Halfhill) McCulloch and married Samuel N. Crawford on Aug. 10, 1940. He died Jan. 18, 1973.
Surviving are a son, Lew Mac (Sherrie) Crawford of Bedford, Texas; grandsons, Matthew and Michael Crawford of Bedford, Texas; and a nephew, James Daniels of Shreve.
Eldora Morley
LOUDONVILLE -- Eldora Marie Morley, 82, 123 N. Adams St., died Monday morning, Jan 1, 2001, at her home after a brief illness.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville, with the Rev. Dr. Monte Canfield officiating.
There will be no calling hours. Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville is handling arrangements.

She was born Sept. 22, 1918, in Streetsboro to James and Bessie (Watters) Hopkins and married Lloyd Morley. He died in 1977.
Surviving are a daughter, Karen Wolgamott of Loudonville; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

BERLIN -- Melva M. Weaver, 80, 5487 S. Market St., went home to be with the Lord Sunday morning, Dec. 31, 2000, at Joel Pomerene Memorial Hospital in Millersburg, after an extended illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Grace Mennonite Church, County Road 77, with the Revs. Levi Sommers and David Clemens officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was born June 24, 1920, in Tuscarawas County, to Addona and Ella (Schlabach) Mullet and married John J. Weaver on Feb. 12, 1946. He died Feb. 9, 1992.

WEST SALEM -- Fannie M. Grogan, 50, of West Salem, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Akron General Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 24, 1928, in Glasgow, W.Va., to James and Edith (Jordan) Carpenter and married Nita Campbell on June 12, 1948. She survives.

WARSAW -- Sylvia B. Hunter, 78, 29775 Township Road 338, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, in the emergency room at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.
She was the sister of Gertrude Harford of Wooster.
Services were held today (Wednesday) at 1 at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with the Rev. Ron Davis officiating. Burial was at Bethal Cemetery in Warsaw.

She was born April 24, 1922, in Coshocton County, to Newton C. and Lucinda (Smith) Hawkins and married Edwin Hunter on Nov. 22, 1956. He survives.

Charles Smith
WOOSTER -- Charles H. Smith, 1021 Curtwood Ave., Wooster, husband of Lois Budd Smith, departed to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 1, 2001.
Charles was born in Guernsey County on June 4, 1918.
Charles was preceded in death by his former wife, Isabel (Hutchison) Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; a brother, Carl Smith of Barnesville; a son, Eric Smith and Martha of Winesburg; Mrs. Stan Bahmer (Alice), Blaine Budd of Wooster and Allen Budd of Yakima, Wash.; and many loving grandchildren.
Charles and Lois have enjoyed and appreciated the loyal fellowship of First Church of God at 1953 Akron Road, Wooster, and they ask that any memorials be made to the church.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville.

He was born March 22, 1938, in Wheeling, W.Va., to Morgan H. and Mildred M. (Miller) Dickerson Sr.

Joseph Claus
WOOSTER -- Joseph C. Claus, 87, of Lytle Drive, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at his residence after a short illness.
A committal service was held Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery in Cleveland. The Rev. Dr. William "Bill" Flewelling officiated.
Visitation was held from 11-noon Tuesday at Heyl Funeral Home in Ashland.

He was born June 19, 1913, in Pittsburgh, to George J. and Elizabeth B. (Stockhausen) Claus and married Marie Bernadette Walsh. She died in 1978. On May 29, 1979, he married Pauline L. Odle. She survives.
Other survivors include daughters, Maureen Claus and Deborah (William) Stec, both of Brook Park; stepchildren, William (Kathy) Flewelling of New Martinsville, W.Va., and Margaret Mencke of North Olmsted; grandchildren, Ryan and Shannon Stec; eight step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Ann Gallagher of Fairview.
