CRESTON -- George R. Smith, 86, 1100 E. West Salem Road, died Friday evening, March 2, 2001, at Glendora Health Care Center, after a brief illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home, Creston, with the Rev. Norman Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted.
Friends may call Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born March 16, 1914, in Burbank to Willard and Mary (Musser) Smith and married Dorothy Bigler on Sept. 19, 1953. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a sister, Anna Mae Morrison of Creston.
Martha Myers
Washington, D.C. -- Martha Orahood Myers, 70, of Washington, D.C., formerly of Wooster, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at George Washington University Hospital, from leukemia.
Surviving are daughters, Emily Myers of Washington, D.C., and Katherine Myers of Williamstown, Mass.; three grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy Mellon of Ormond Beach, Fla.
Her husband of 42 years, Will S. Myers, died in September 2000.
Paul Reis
AKRON -- Paul A. Reis, 80, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 13, 2001, after a lengthy illness.
Private graveside services will be at Mount Peace Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Dale Young officiating.
There will be no calling hours. The Billow Co. funeral home in Fairlawn is handling arrangements.
He was born Aug. 27, 1920, in Cameroun, West Africa, to Dr. Jacob A. and Eleanor (Nicely) Reis, Presbyterian missionaries.
Surviving is his devoted wife of 49 years, Marilynn (Proctor) Reis, and his loving children, Scott Reis of Akron and Laurie (James) Mills of Hudson. He also leaves dear grandchildren, Marilynn, Maria and Nicole Reis and Daniel, Stephen and Emily Mills. A sister, Eleanor Henry of McLean, Va., and a brother, John N. Reis of Fort Wayne, Ind., also survive.
Marilyn Steele
KETTERING -- Marilyn Steele, 70, 948 Donson Drive, Kettering, formerly of Orrville, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Hospice of Dayton, after a six-week illness.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery, with Robert Steele officiating.
Friends may call Monday from 7:30-9 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville.

She was born Feb. 5, 1931, in Canton to Earl and Florence (Shaffer) Weygandt and married Donald J. Steele on Feb. 7, 1952 in Orrville. He died Nov. 28, 1998.
Surviving are children, Jean (Darrell) Bonewit of Orrville, Amy (Ron) Bellar of Kettering and James Steele of Wooster; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; as well as a group of close friends known as her extended family.
Lois Scott
LODI -- Lois E. Scott, 87, of Lodi, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Smithville Western Care Center, Wooster, where she had resided for the past six months.
Memorial services will be Saturday, March 24, at 7 p.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home in Lodi, with the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.
Friends may call Saturday, March 24, from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home, or one hour prior to the services. Order of Eastern Star services will be held at 2:45 p.m.

She was born March 30, 1913, in Ashley to the Rev. Charles and Josephine (Howard) Cole and married Correl E. Scott on June 20, 1934. He died in 1981.
Surviving are sons, Chuck (Pat) Scott of Brentwood, Tenn., Larry (Irene) Scott of Westfield Center and Tom (Bonnie) Scott of Medina; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

SHREVE -- Samuel Wesley Brandenburg Jr., infant son of Samuel Wesley and Lorraine (Shumar) Brandenburg Sr., 3293 Willow Road, died shortly after birth Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at Akron General Medical Center.

APPLE CREEK -- Neva Keim, 5-month-old daughter of Aden and Susie (Weaver) Keim, 5152 S. Kansas Road, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron, from a form of meningitis.
Services will be Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at the residence, with Bishop Alvin Schlabach officiating. Burial will be at Yoder Cemetery, East Union Township.

She was born Feb. 17, 1932, in Anna, Ill., to Charles and Ivy (Thomason) Houseman and married Claude Mayberry on March 5, 1954. He died Nov. 23, 2000.

Rev. Hillis Fath
SMITHVILLE -- The Rev. Hillis I. Fath, 79, 4933 N. Geyers Chapel Road, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Memorial services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Rittman, with the Rev. Jerry Burton officiating. Rev. Fath's body has been donated to the Ohio University Osteopathic Medical Center. Inurnment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens at a later date.

He was born July 16, 1921, in Massillon to Sylvestor and Mabel (Faulkner) Fath and married Emma Jean Taylor on Feb. 26, 1944. She survives.

Wayne DeHart
ALCOA, Tenn. -- Wayne A. DeHart, 68, 254 W. Stephenson St., died Saturday, March 10, 2001, at his home.
He was the brother of Earl (Matie) DeHart and Paul (Florence) DeHart, both of Orrville.
Services were held Wednesday, March 14, at Foothills Funeral Home Chapel in Maryville, Tenn., with the Rev. Cordell Simpson officiating. Burial was at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Alcoa, Tenn.
He was born July 18, 1932, in Bryson City, N.C., to James and Odetha DeHart.

DOVER -- Kathryn E. "Kate" Hensel, 92, of Park Village Health Care Center in Dover, formerly of Strasburg, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at the center after an extended illness.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. John United Church of Christ in Strasburg, with the Rev. Gerald Schuessler officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg.

RAVENNA -- Paul M. Moser, 89, of Ravenna, formerly of Orrville, died Friday, March 16, 2001, at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, after a period of declining health.

LAKE QUIVIRA, Kan. -- Ruth Ann (Irvin) McLean, 88, a resident of Lake Quivira, Kan., formerly of Orrville, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at her home after a long illness.
She was born Jan. 13, 1913, to Dr. George and Anna (Price) Irvin.
Surviving are children, Sarah C. Hart of Norfolk, Neb., Robert B. McLean of Lincoln, Neb., and Joan R. Davies of San Mateo, Calif.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dr. Robert Irvin of Painesville.
Esther Campbell
ASHLAND -- Esther C. Campbell, 92, formerly of Katherine Avenue, died Friday morning, March, 23, 2001, at Griffeth Nursing Home, Ashland, following a seven-week illness.
Memorial services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville with Pastor Dan Bilkert officiating. Burial will be at Nashville Cemetery at a later date.

She was born Feb. 14, 1909, in Wooster to Albert and Mary Jane (Bevington) Spencer and married Forest H. Campbell on June 4, 1927. He died Sept. 2, 1991.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Vaughn and Elaine Campbell of Lake Wales, Fla.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vivian and Alex Nagy of Ashland and Vi and Michael Stavole of Amherst; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Vera Gillen
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Vera Maxine Gillen, 74, died Thursday evening, March 22, 2001, at her residence in Muncie, Ind., following an extended illness.
She was the sister and sister-in-law of Nancy and Karl Green of Wooster.
Services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at The Meeks Mortuary Chapel in Muncie, Ind. with the Rev. Todd Ladd officiating. Cremation will follow and entombment of ashes will be at Elm Ridge Mausoleum.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-6 p.m. and after 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the mortuary.

She was born in Delaware County to Ivan and Inez (Turner) Humbert. She married Warren G. Gillen. He died in 1990.
