LODI -- Mary R. Combs, 75, of Lodi, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at Lodi Community Hospital, after an extended illness.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Lodi, with the Rev. Christopher Cahill officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Wadsworth at 2:30 p.m.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church.

She was born May 22, 1927, in Vincennes, Ind., to Ray and Pauline Mae (Neighbors) Ballard and married Marion H. Combs on Aug. 8, 1958. He survives.
Other survivors include children, Norman (Pat) Sarter of Hudson, Fla., Steve (Karen) Combs and Dolores (Warren) Breese, both of Lodi, Jay (Kim) Combs of Greencastle, Pa., and Pamela (Dominick) Prestia of Spring Hill, Fla.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Ballard of Marshall, Ill.
Alice Vogel
COLUMBUS -- Alice Mabel Vogel, 96, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2002, at Columbus West Park. She was formerly of Glenmont.
Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn (Roger) Thomas; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Her husband, Sylvester, died previously.
Phillip Plymale
ORRVILLE -- Phillip R. Plymale, 70, 109 W. Oak St., died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at Cleveland Clinic.
There will be no services.

He was born Oct. 14, 1932, in Webster County, W.Va., to Gustin and Martha Agnes (Ward) Plymale and married Betty Crites on May 11, 1963. She survives.

Norman Camp
OLLINSVILLE, Okla. -- Norman E. Camp, 74, of Collinsville, Okla., died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002.
He was the brother of Louise Brubaker of Lodi.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Will Rogers United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Mel Whittington officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, Okla.
Friends may call today (Wednesday) afternoon and evening at Reynolds Funeral Home, Tulsa, Okla.

He was born June 19, 1928, in West Salem to Lincoln J. and Mae Ida Camp and was married to Rose Ann Camp for 47 years. She survives.

Byron Morris
WOOSTER -- Byron E. Morris, longtime director of admissions at The College of Wooster, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, after an extended period of declining health. He was 69.
He was born in 1933, in Elyria to Byron T. and Florence Morris.
He married the former Jane Gustin, also a Wooster graduate, who survives.
Morris is also survived by three adult children, Patricia (Douglas) Stout of Wooster, John (Susan) Morris of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Susan Morris of Akron; grandchildren, Allie and KayLynn of Wooster, Brian, Michael, Clay and Kyle; a great-granddaughter, Kayla of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a brother, Donald (Yvonne) Morris of Wooster; a sister, Beverly (Dean) Shaffer of Carrollton, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Byron's life will be Friday, Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Kittredge Hall at The College of Wooster.

CRESTON -- Velma Vay Estep, 79, of Creston, died Tuesday morning, Oct. 22, 2002, at her home after a period of declining health.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, with elder Wilson Dohner officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
There will be no calling hours.

James Mullet Sr.
DUNDEE -- James H. Mullet Sr., 36, of Dundee, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, near Berlin, with Norman Shetler officiating. Burial will at Westlawn Cemetery in Mount Eaton.
Friends may call Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at the church, or one hour prior to the services.

KILLBUCK -- Sarah Jane Bennett, 60, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Belpre.
Services were held Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Maple Lane Freewill Baptist Church, Hebron, W.Va. The Revs. Eddie Wilson and Ralph Wilson officiated. Burial was in Maple Lane Cemetery, Hebron, W.Va.
Arrangements were handled by Ingram Funeral Home in St. Marys, W.Va.
She was born Aug. 18, 1942, in Medina County to Ernie G. and Virginia (Coss) Wilson and was married to Ernest Bennett for 42 years. He survives.

Services will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at the John Chupp residence, with Bishop Roy E. Mast officiating. Burial will be at Kaufman-Coblentz Cemetery, Walnut Creek Township, Holmes County.

Adam Bair
YUMA, Ariz. -- Adam Bair, 83, of Yuma, Ariz., formerly of Orrville, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at Life Care Center in Yuma, Ariz., after a long illness.
Private memorial services for family and friends were held Sunday, Oct. 20, in Orrville. The body has been cremated. Yuma Johnson Mortuary handled arrangements.
He was born Aug. 4, 1919, in New Philadelphia to Adam and Helen (Stuckey) Bair.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Bair of Yuma, Ariz.; a stepdaughter, Brenda Hering of Oregon; a brother, Richard Kohler and a sister, Hannah Gavin, both of Orrville; and 15 nieces and nephews.
His first wife, Wilma (Blackstone) Bair, died previously.
Kenneth Glasgo
LOUDONVILLE -- Kenneth J. Glasgo, 91, 852 Township Road 3414, died Sunday evening, Oct. 20, 2002, at Colonial Manor Health Care Center in Loudonville, after a two-month illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Perrysville Baptist Church, where a luncheon for family and friends will be held at noon. The Rev. Howard Burnett will officiate. Burial will be at North Bend Cemetery, Knox County.
Friends may call tonight (Tuesday) from 5-8 at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home in Loudonville.

He was born June 5, 1911, near Loudonville to Charles and Mary (Zimmerman) Glasgo and married Donna Workman on Dec. 29, 1945. She survives.
Other survivors include sons, Dr. Philip (Dana) Glasgo of Gilford, Ind., and retired Lt. Col. Stephen (Charlotte) Glasgo of Loudonville; five grandchildren; and a sister, Annabel Dailey of Loudonville.
Anne Chirdon
WOOSTER -- Anne Chirdon, 80, of Wooster, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at Wooster Community Hospital.
There will be no services at her request. McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster is handling arrangements.
She was born June 20, 1922, in Lodi, to Frank and Mary (Rebick) Nomisnick and married Patrick Chirdon on Dec. 27, 1969. He died in 1990.
Surviving are a son, Jack Voshall of Gainesville, Fla.; a stepson, Patrick W. Chirdon of Wooster; four step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mae Schneider of Sarasota, Fla.
Ralph Pontius
WOOSTER -- Ralph Emerson Pontius, 92, formerly of Greentown, died Sunday night, Oct. 13, 2002, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Wooster.
Memorial services will be Saturday, Oct. 26, at 11:30 a.m. at Greentown United Methodist Church in Greentown, with the Revs. David Andrews and Ted Bartter officiating. Interment of his ashes will be at Greentown Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Booth Funeral Home in Greentown.

He was born Oct. 5, 1910, in Lake Township to Alton A. and Dicie (Kamp) Pontius.
Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Janice Hamilton of Oakton, Va., Martha and Donald Smith of Edison, N.J., and Edith and Jonathan Swank of Wooster; grandchildren, Julie Smith of Miami, Fla., Eric Smith of Edison, N.J., and Vanessa, Peter and Matthew Swank of Wooster; and a brother, Ward E. Pontius of Colorado Springs, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Phyllis (Bartter) Pontius whom he married June 29, 1940.
