David Miller
MILLERSBURG -- David P. Miller, infant son of Paul J. and Katie (Yoder) Miller, 3912 Township Road 629, was stillborn Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Family services were held Friday at the Miller residence with Bishop Jonas E. Miller officiating. Burial was in the Miller Cemetery, Paint Township, Holmes County.
Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton handled arrangements.
Surviving in addition to his parents are grandparents, Jacob E. and Mary Yoder of Apple Creek and Susan Miller of Dundee.

Anna Pittman
MEDINA -- Anna Belle Wallace Pittman, 86, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Samaritan Care Center in Medina.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, with Pastor Bill Powell officiating. Burial will be at Burbank Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
She was born Nov. 12, 1916, in Callaway County, Mo. to William W. and Esta (Powell) Wallace and married Merle Pittman in 1934. He died in 1996.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary Conn of Akron; son, Tom (Alice) Pittman of Fort Myers, Fla.; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Martha Yoder
FREDERICKSBURG -- Martha C. Yoder, 74, 5506 County Road 229, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, following a brief illness.
Services will be Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at the residence with Bishop Eli A. Miller officiating. Burial will be at Hershberger Cemetery, Salt Creek Township.
Friends may call anytime at the residence.
Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements.
She was born Jan. 24, 1928, in Holmes County to Christian P. and Sarah (Raber) Weaver and married Melvin J.D. Yoder on Jan. 23, 1947. He died Sept. 2, 1987.
Surviving are five daughters, Betty (Roy E.) Mast and Sara (Eli A.) Yoder, both of Apple Creek, Elsie (Andrew M.) Raber and Mary (Marvin N.) Troyer, both of Fredericksburg, Edna (Jonas D.) Miller of the home; two sons, Roy (Clara) Yoder of Fredericksburg and David (Mae) Yoder of Holmesville; 36 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Wayne) Yoder of Fredericksburg, Elizabeth (Eli D.A.) Yoder and Sarah (Ura) Yoder, both of Millersburg and two brothers, Emery (Arie) Weaver and Andrew (Barbara Ann) Weaver, both of Dundee.

Daniel Braid
STOW -- Daniel Lynn Braid, 50, died Oct. 16, 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Karen (Zollinger); two stepchildren; a granddaughter; parents and three brothers.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Redmon Funeral Home, Stow, where friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Silver Springs Cemetery in Stow.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Alex Caesar
LODI -- Alex Caesar, 81, of Lodi, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Grace Brethren Church, 8992 Firestone Road, Homerville, with the Revs. Robert Holmes and Brad Kelley officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi and one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Grace Brethren Church of Homerville, 8992 Firestone Road, P.O. Box 25, Homerville 44235; Apostolic Christian Home, 10680 Steiner Road, Rittman 44270 or Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
He was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Lafayette Township to George and Elizabeth (Janose) Caesar.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Bertha (Wuthrich) Caesar; a son, John (Cindy) Caesar of Chatham Township; a daughter, Cyndie (Michael) Shaw of Westfield Township; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Thelma Gillett
FRESNO -- Thelma Jane Gillett, 87, 50820 Township Road 191, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at her home.
She was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Given-Dawson Coshocton Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Coshocton, P.O. Box 1284, Coshocton 43812.
She was born June 13, 1915, in Belmont County to Elza and Mamie (McMurray) Murphy and married Horace Gillett on March 21, 1948. He survives. She was previously married to Roy Greten, who was killed in France during World War II.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, John (Carole) Greten of Fresno, Jeffrey (Judy) Gillett of West Lafayette and Horace "Jay" (Margaret) Gillett of Pinehurst, N.C.; two daughters, Jane Ann Perry of Zanesville and Carol Jo "Jody" Gillett of Dallas; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a brother, Erson (Eloise) Murphy of Wooster and a sister, Margaret Blatter of Deland, Fla.

Ruth Kirkwood
WOOSTER -- Ruth Bernice Kirkwood, 77, of Wooster, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at her home.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev. William H. Valentine officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call tonight (Friday) from 7-9 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
She was born Sept. 21, 1925, in Williamsport, Pa. to William and Pearl (Oberdort) Morgan.
Surviving are her husband, Ralph S. Kirkwood, to whom she had been married 50 years; a daughter, Nancy (James) Kerner of Coopersburg, Pa.; sons, Ralph S. Kirkwood Jr. of Apple Creek and William (Susan) Kirkwood of Wooster and three grandchildren.

Gertrude Patterson
SEATTLE, Wash. -- Gertrude L. Patterson, 93, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, in Seattle.
Services will be Saturday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m. at Hurlbut Memorial Community Church in Chautauqua, N.Y. Burial will be at Chautauqua Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m.-noon at Freay Funeral Home in Mayville, N.Y.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gertrude Patterson Jubilee scholarship fund of Coalition For Christian Outreach, 5912 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15206.
Surviving are a daughter, Gertrude "Trudy" Patterson Colflesh of West Milford, N.J.; a son, Clark M. Patterson of Seattle; two stepchildren, the Rev. James M. Patterson of Bakersfield, Calif. and Margaret Patterson Shaw of Richmond, Va.; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, the Rev. Robert Meade Patterson, D.D.died previously.

Denzil Smith
WOOSTER -- Denzil C. Smith, 94, formerly of Palmyra, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at West View Manor Nursing Home in Wooster.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel. Burial will be at West Cemetery, Palmyra.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held in the evening.
Memorial donations may be made to Charity Lodge No. 530, in care of Donald Sampson Jr., Treasurer, 2071 Bonner Road, Deerfield 44411.
He was born May 17, 1908, in Elizabeth, W.Va. to Will E. and Mary (Wyatt) Smith and married Amanda Williams. She died in 1996.
Surviving are daughters, Ethel (Robert) Hildebrand of Wooster and Vivian LaChance of Melbourne, Fla.; a son, Carl (Eunice) Smith of Stow; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Gordon Smith of Florida.

Lorena Wachtel
MOUNT GILEAD -- Lorena F. Wachtel, 95, formerly of Loudonville, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 16, 2002, in Morrow County Hospital, Mount Gilead, following a one-year illness.
Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with the Rev. Brian Durbin officiating. Burial will be in Newkirk Cemetery, Big Prairie.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Woodside Village Activity Fund, 841 W. Marion Road, Mount Gilead 43338, or Swiss Village Endowment Fund, 1350 W. Main St., Berne, Ind. 46711.
She was born July 31, 1907, in Berne, Ind., to Enos and Sarah (Leichty) Lehman and married Earl Wachtel. He died in 1985.
She is survived by four sons and their wives, Thomas and Carolyn Wachtel of Phoenix, James and Sue Wachtel of Tampa, Fla., John and Shirley Wachtel of Montgomery, Ala., and Edward and Sheila Wachtel of Mount Gilead; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edna Hawbaker of Berne, Ind.

Paul Heatwole
CLEVELAND, Texas -- Paul D. Heatwole, 68, of Cleveland, Texas, and formerly of Dalton, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002, following a short illness.
He was born June 24, 1934, near Dalton to Gabriel and Ada (Eberly) Heatwole and married Lovina Schrock on Dec. 25, 1955. She died March 24, 1996. On Sept. 25, 1997, he married Pearl Cameron. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, M. Rose Chappell and Dina Sue (Michael) Potts, both of Indiana; 10 grandchildren; a sister and three brothers, Bertha Heatwole, Myron (Edith) Heatwole of North Lawrence, J. Wayne (Margaret) Heatwole of Saskatchewan, Canada and Clarence I. (Alma) Heatwole of Barwick, Ontario.

Delmont McAnallen
DOYLESTOWN -- Delmont "Mac" McAnallen, 86, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at noon at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 161 W. Clinton St., Doylestown, followed by a military graveside service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Procession will form at the church.
Friends may call tonight (Thursday) from 7-9 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown.
Memorials may be made to Doylestown Health Care Center, Activities Fund, 95 Black Drive, Doylestown 44230.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Marcella; sons and daughters-in-law, Bud and Nancy McAnallen, John McAnallen; Larry and Paula McAnallen, and Dan and Chris McAnallen, daughters and son-in-law, Mary and Dave Holian and Margie Vinez; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

William Kauf
WEST SALEM -- William Raymond "Penny" Kauf, 87, of West Salem, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at Meadowview Care Center in Seville, following a period of declining health.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Burbank with the Rev. Jane Doughton officiating. Burial will be at Burbank Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Medina County, 797 N. Court, Medina 44256.
He was born Dec. 9, 1914, in Bellville to William and Elizabeth (Spristerbaugh) Kauf and married Dorcus Livingston on March 27, 1934. She died Aug. 21, 1987.
Surviving are six children, Russell (Dee) Kauf of Cinnamon Lake, Everett Kauf and John (Cathy) Kauf, both of Seville, Don (Barbara) Kauf and William Raymond Kauf Jr., both of Wooster and LuAnn (Russell) Locke of Lodi; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a brother, John Kauf of Mansfield and a sister, Barbara Bursky of Mansfield.

Herbert Klever Jr.
NORTH LAWRENCE -- Herbert C. "King" Klever Jr., 88, of North Lawrence, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002, at his granddaughter's residence in Lawrence Township.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Atkinson Feucht Shaidnagle Funeral Home in Massillon with the Rev. Lynda K. Masters officiating. Burial will be at Newman Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
He was born Oct. 1, 1914, in North Lawrence to Herbert C. and Mary A. (Jones) Klever.
Surviving are his wife, Helen I. (Shilling) Klever of North Lawrence; daughters, Mrs. Richard (Joan) Flickinger of Wooster, Polly I. Butzer of North Lawrence, Mrs. Thomas (Charlene "Hap") Gessling of Dalton; a son, Herbert F. Klever of North Lawrence; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchldren; a sister, Mrs. Don (Sally) Moser of North Lawrence and brothers, Donald and Roger Klever, both of Massillon.

Susie Troyer
WOOSTER -- Susie Troyer, 92, of Wooster, and formerly of Holmes County, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 16, 2002, at the Sunset View Nursing Home, Millersburg, following a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. Burial will be at Pleasant View Church Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
She was born May 29, 1910, in Holmes County and was the daughter of Joseph and Mattie Gingerich. On Dec. 25, 1930, she married Roman M. Troyer and he preceded her in death May 19, 1991.
Surviving are five children, Joy "Gladys" Troyer of Smithville, Milo R. Troyer of Wooster, Rosanne Hite of Brewster, Roman Troyer Jr. of Wooster and Rhoda Troyer of Orrville; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Verna Gingerich of Berlin and a brother, Joe Gingerich of Canton.

Cheryl Capaldi
MIDDLEFIELD -- Cheryl Ann Capaldi, 43, of Middlefield, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002 in Madison.
Private services will be Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville (opposite Lake Erie College) with the Rev. Hannu Vepsalainen officiating. Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery in Fairport Harbor.
Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
She was born June 27, 1959, in Painesville to Richard and Susan Loxterman.
Surviving are her husband, Peter M. Capaldi; sons, Charles and Chet Capaldi; a daughter, Emily Capaldi; her parents of Madison; brothers, Michael Loxterman of Madison and Scott (Melinda) Loxterman of Perry and sisters, Jacqueline Loxterman-Leyand of Painesville and Christina Noga of Eastlake and her grandmother, Melissa Bushey of Painesville.
