Scott Schleappi
WOOSTER -- Scott M. Schleappi, 44, 948 Palmer St., Wooster, died Friday morning, Sept. 20, 2002, at Akron General Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Wooster with Mr. Terry McCullough officiating.
Friends may call Monday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Those who wish may contribute to the Lincolnway Scholarship Fund, 905 Pittsburgh Ave., Wooster 44691.
He was born Oct. 8, 1957, in Canton to Edward and Patricia Anne (McCullough) Schleappi.
Surviving are his wife, Rose Gursky Schleappi, whom he married July 7, 1979; sons, Jacob and Samuel of the home; father and stepmother, Edward and Mary Ellen Schleappi of Caldwell; mother, Patricia Ann Clark of Caldwell; sisters and a brother and their spouses, LuAnn and Donn Ross, Stephanie Schleappi and Ted and Caroline Schleappi, all of Columbus, and maternal grandmother, Juanita McCullough of Massillon.

John Fawcett
NEW PHILADELPHIA -- John R. "Spicket" Fawcett, 53, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg following a sudden illness.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church in New Philadelphia with the Rev. Jim Borton officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia.
Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Building for Life fund at the First Christian Church, 104 3rd St. NW, New Philadelphia 44663 or to Starlight School, 518 Church Ave. SW, New Philadelphia 44663.
He was born Aug. 20, 1949, in Dover, to Ernest "Bud" and Sarah (Jackson) Fawcett and married Paula Walker on Feb. 24, 1973. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Heather Fawcett and her fiance, Adam Thomas, Travis and Traci Fawcett, all of New Philadelphia; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kathy and Jim Hostetler and Elizabeth Morris, all of Sugarcreek; brother and sister-in-law, David and Sandy Fawcett of Gnadenhutten and many nieces and nephews.

Bernice Hanes
LODI -- Bernice I. Hanes, 91, of Lodi, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at Meadowview Care Center in Seville, where she had resided the past 2 1/2 years.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, with the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.
Friends may call Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lodi United Methodist Church, 320 Medina St., Lodi 44254.
She was born June 17, 1911, in Lodi, to Samuel and Effie (Norton) Vanasdal and married Elton Hanes. He died previously.
Surviving are sons, William (Elizabeth) Hanes of Lodi and John (Beverly) Hanes of Orange, Texas; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Evelyn Noah of Pittsburgh.

Nancy Hershberger
WOOSTER -- Nancy M. Hershberger, 79, of Wooster and formerly of Winesburg, died Friday morning, September 20, 2002, at the Smithville-Western Care Center in Wooster, following a period of declining health.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton with Pastor Ted Rust of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Smithville officiating. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery in Winesburg.
Friends may call on Monday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was born in Pennsylvania on July 7, 1923 to the late Manasses J. and Barbara Z. (Byler) Yoder. On June 15, 1955, she married Levi A. Hershberger. He died Feb. 5, 1984.
She is survived by four sons, Paul D. (Barbara) Hershberger and Ray A. Hershberger, both of Kidron, John W. Hershberger of Apple Creek, and William E. (Tammy) Hershberger of Orrville; five grandchildren; a sister, Martha Miller of Winesburg and several nieces and nephews.

Eli Raber
BLACKVILLE, S.C. -- Eli A. Raber, 73, of Blackville, S.C. died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Barnwell Mennonite Church. Burial will be at Calvary Fellowship Mennonite Church Cemetery in Healing Springs, S.C.
Friends may call tonight (Saturday) from 5-8 at Calvary Fellowship Mennonite Church and on Sunday after 12:30 p.m. at Barnwell Mennonite Church.
Arrangements are being handled by Folk Funeral Home in Williston, S.C.
He was born in Holmes County to Andrew J.D. and KatieAnn (Yoder) Raber.
Surviving are his wife, Edna J. (Miller) Raber of the home; daughters, Esther E. Williams of Summerville, S.C., Ina Sue Schrock of Barnwell, S.C., Melinda Kay Dice of Weyers Cave, Va., Martha Ruth Wagler of Washington, Ind., Mary Naomi Knepp of Myakka, Fla.; sons, Atlee E. Raber and David Wayne Raber, both of Blackville, S.C.; 17 grandchildren; stepsister, Mrs. Jacob Mast of Fresno; a brother, Melvin A.J. Raber of Walnut Creek and a stepbrother, Simon Yoder of Plain City.

Irene Tanner
PALM HARBOR, Fla. -- Irene F. Tanner, 98, of Palm Harbor, Fla., died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, in Palm Harbor, Fla.
Memorial service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, with the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.
Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Surviving are three sons, C. William Lee of Palm Harbor, Fla., James H. Lee of Gahanna and Robert E. Lee of Cincinnati; stepdaughter, Ruth I. Anderson of Lodi; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Harriet Haulk of Lodi and a brother, Harry Frary of Frankfort.

Donald McGlone
CRESTON -- Donald G. McGlone, 70, 157 Garden St., died Thursday morning, Sept. 19, 2002, at his home, following a period of declining health.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with the Rev. Homer Watson officiating. Burial will be at Canaan Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born in Lewis County, Ky., on May 20, 1932, to James and Lula (Church) McGlone. He married M. Faye Short on May 3, 1952. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two grandsons, Mark and wife, Becky Kimberlin of Doylestown and Kevin McGlone of the home; two great-granddaughters, Madison and Makayla Kimberlin and a sister, Linda and husband, Harold Nerkin of Yucca Valley, Calif.

Esther Carpenter
MILLERSBURG -- Esther Marie Carpenter, 97, of Millersburg, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 17, 2002, at her residence, following a short illness.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Craycraft officiating. Burial will be at Killbuck Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Killbuck United Methodist Church, 180 Mark Ave., Killbuck 44637.
She was born Oct. 5, 1904, at Tunnel Hill in Coshocton County, to Thomas and Effie (Johnson) Ramsey. She married James E. Carpenter. He died in 1983.
Surviving are a son, James E. Carpenter Jr. of Killbuck; a daughter, Josephine Hasenmeyer of New Port Richey, Fla.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Helen Ewart of Brinkhaven.

Jeffery Norris
DOYLESTOWN -- Jeffery D. Norris, 49, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at his home.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown with Minister James A. Foster officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wadsworth-Rittman, 102 Main St., Suite 304, Wadsworth 44281; American Cancer Society, 1900 W. Market St., Akron 44313 or to Rittman Church of Christ, 130 N. Main St., Rittman 44270.
He was born June 5, 1953, in Wadsworth, to Robert and Shirley (Lengacher) Norris and married Valarie Buckingham on Aug. 18, 1981. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Garrod Norris of Fort Stewart, Ga.; a daughter, Rashelle Norris of Doylestown; his mother, Shirley Norris of Rittman; a brother, Gary (Joyce) Norris of Marshallville; a sister, Sheila (Terry) Walker of Jacksonville, N.C.; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Helen Ramsier
JEROMESVILLE -- Helen J. Ramsier, 75, of Jeromesville, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 18, 2002, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital, after an extended illness.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church, Steiner Road in Rittman, with clergy from the church officiating. Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Rittman.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors in Mansfield and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church on Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Galilean Children's Home of Liberty, Ky. or the Apostolic Children's Home of Leo, Ind.
She was born Nov. 4, 1926, in Alto, Mich., to Karl and Tillie (Fuhrer) Oesch.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Wallace W. Ramsier; 10 children and their spouses, Karen and Pete Baltic, Darlene and Larry Enderle and Jolene Ramsier, all of Jeromesville, Debra and Don Jones of Ashland, Carol and Lonnie Browne of Bellville, Cliff and Lynn Ramsier of Milan, Todd and Stephanie Ramsier of Columbus, Jeff and Cheri Ramsier of Iuka, Ill., Brenda and Wayne Herrmann of Princeville, Ill. and Joyce and Milan Germaine of Detroit; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Elmer and Doris Oesch of Crestline; four sisters, Anna Farney of Wichita, Kan., Edith Mayer of Indianapolis, and Emilie Went and Martha Oesch, both of Shelby.

Ford Raudebaugh
MOUNT VERNON -- Ford Raudebaugh, 90, of Mount Vernon, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at his residence.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Wooster Cemetery with Pastor Ralph Gibson officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are being handled by Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Deacons Care and Compassion Fund at the First Presbyterian Church, 102 N. Gay St., Mount Vernon 43050.
He was born Aug. 11, 1912, in Lakewood, to Emmett E. and Jessie A. (Lehman) Raudebaugh and married Pauline N. Langell. She died previously.
Surviving is his daughter, Nancy L. Myers of Louisville.

Leo Shaw
DOYLESTOWN -- Leo E. Shaw, 97, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
There will be no calling hours
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are being handled by Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown.
He was born Jan. 21, 1905, in Muskingum County, and married Mary Louise Murphy on June 5, 1937. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sisters, Margarite Hammer of Zanesville and Gertrude Love of Newark.

Barbara Detwiler
OSSIAN, Ind. -- Barbara J. Detwiler, 68, of Ossian, Ind. died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at her residence.
Memorial services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Seville United Methodist Church, in Seville, with the Rev. Philip Wilden officiating. Burial will be at Mound Hill Cemetery in Seville.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are being handled by Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Homes in Ossian, Ind.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ossian United Methodist Church or Family Hospice of N.E. Indiana.
She was born May 4, 1934, in Akron, to William C. and Gladys Bilich Barron and married Charles K. Detwiler on Feb. 14, 1958 in Akron. He survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, David M. Detwiler of Indianapolis, Ind. and Brian D. Detwiler of Cicero, Ind.; a daughter, Ellen D. In of Morton Grove, Ill.; two grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ellen (Curtis) Low of Cuyahoga Falls and a brother, Michael Bilich of Akron.

Michael Joseph
MINERAL RIDGE -- Michael J. Joseph, 80, 1506 Prospect St., died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, after an extended illness.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Stephens Church, 129 W. Park Ave., Niles.
Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Holton Yuhasz Funeral Home, 126 W. Park Ave., Niles.
He was born Feb. 19, 1922, to Fred and Bader Joseph.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy (Wertz) Galehouse Joseph, whom he married in 1972; children, Carol (John) Krok of Niles, Michael Joseph Jr. of Kimbolton, Richard Joseph and Gene, Robert and Tommy Joseph, all of Niles; stepchildren, Sheryl (Stuart) Nunn of North Carolina, Deborah (Frank) Rowland of Burke, Va., Michelle Galehouse of GlenBurnie, Md., Kim Galehouse of Marshallville, Tim (Debra) Galehouse of Orrville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, J. Leo Joseph, Clio "Kelly" Joseph, Thomas and George Joseph, all of Niles; and sisters, Nora and Vera Joseph and Sister Concilio (Mary).
