Marvin Nussbaum
ORRVILLE -- Marvin L. Nussbaum, 83, formerly of 13109 Old Lincoln Way, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville.
Services will be Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at 3 p.m. at Orrville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Orrville with the Rev. Ray Pfahler officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Orrville.
Visitation will be held at the Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville on Saturday from 6-8 p.m. and on Sunday one hour before services at the church.
He was born Dec. 10, 1918, in Dalton to Abraham and Ida (Berg) Nussbaum and married Zola L. Kollert on June 19, 1948. She died May 20, 2000.
Surviving are daughters, Rebecca (Richard) Mathys of Orrville and Ruth Marie (Russell) Schwartz of Carmel, Ind.; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild and a sister, Dorothy (David) Bowman of Orrville.

Charlene VanLieu
AKRON -- A memorial mass for Charlene Fay VanLieu, 71, will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster.
Friends may call tonight (Friday) from 5-8 at Adams Mason Funeral Home, 791 E. Market St. in Akron.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to People to People Ministries, 454 E. Bowman St., Wooster 44691 or Boys Village, 2803 Akron Road, Wooster 44691.
She died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at Akron City Hospital.

Ammon Barkman
BALTIC -- Ammon E. Barkman, 46, 2878 Township Road 190, died Wednesday morning, Sept. 11, 2002, at his residence, following an extended illness.
Services will be Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, at 9 a.m. at the Barkman residence, 2878 Township Road 190, Baltic, with Bishop Floyd E. Troyer officiating. Burial will be at the Miller Cemetery, Clark Township, Holmes County.
Friends may call anytime at the residence.
Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Geib Funeral Home in Baltic.
He was born Sept. 15, 1955, in Tuscarawas County to Eli J. and Mattie (Miller) Barkman and married Ada Marie Mast on July 1, 1982. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four daughters, Marlene Kay, Kristina Sue, Mary Lorene and Karen Marie and a son, James Aden, all of the home; his parents, Eli J. and Mattie (Miller) Barkman; four brothers, Mose (Marie) Barkman, Roy (Mary) Barkman, Jacob (Susie) Barkman, all of Baltic and Andrew (Saloma) Barkman of Sugarcreek.

Louise Benefit
LODI -- Louise Iona Benefit, 89, of Lodi died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at Meadowview Nursing Home in Seville.
Services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi with Pastor Robin Hart officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.
Friends may call from 2-3 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1815 W. Market St., Suite 301, Akron 44313-7067.
She was born June 15, 1913, in West Tisbury, Mass., to Antone and Mary (Silva) Alley and married Henry Benefit. He died previously.
Surviving are a daughter, Norma (William) Anshutz of Wadsworth; sons, Ronald Benefit of Lodi and William (Janice) Benefit of Sullivan; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Arthur Odenkirk
WOOSTER -- Arthur Russell Odenkirk, 91, of Wooster, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at Wayne County Care Center.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Apple Creek Cemetery with the Rev. James Collier officiating.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Salvation Army, Wooster Corps, 437 S. Market St., Wooster 44691 or to the American Red Cross, Wayne County Chapter, 124 N. Walnut St., Wooster 44691 in his memory.
Born June 5, 1911, in East Union Township, Wayne County, he was the son of Charles and Effie (Blackwood) Odenkirk and married Gail Irene Finley on Jan. 14, 1933. She died March 2, 1999.
Surviving are daughters, Shirley (Richard) Hartman of Wooster, Sally (James) Porter of Albuquerque, N.M.; a son, Richard A. (Ruth Ann) Odenkirk of Wooster; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Charlene VanLieu
AKRON -- Charlene Fay VanLieu, 71, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at Akron City Hospital.

Surviving are children, Ken (Teresa) VanLieu, Sharon (Jon) Newman, Bill VanLieu, Tom (Shiela) VanLieu, Mark (Pam) VanLieu, Scott VanLieu and Nora (Marc) Anderson; 11 grandchildren and six brothers, Charles, Richard, Robert, Ken, Larry and David Manges.

Ramona Whitman
CRESTON -- Ramona Jeanne Whitman, 63, 14260 Canaan Center Road, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital, following a period of declining health.
Services for the family will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Cemetery with Father Patrick Henry officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are being handled by Murray Funeral Home in Creston.
Memorial contributions may be made to Diabetes Association, 1815 W. Market St., Suite 108, Akron 44313.
She was born March 26, 1939, in Dayton to Richard V. and Elizabeth Clare (Hoos) Omlor and married Henry Whitman on Jan. 25, 1986. He survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Allen Truman; a daughter, Rhonda Jeanne Truman; stepchildren, Gary Whitman, Carlos Whitman, Dean Whitman and Ramona Whitman and brothers, David Omlor and Steven Gall.

Emma Anderson
LODI -- Emma Jean (Gibbs) Anderson, 90, of Lodi, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, at Akron General Hospital.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, with the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi.
Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born Nov. 18, 1911, in Canton to Paul and Lottie Ann (Eyster) Gibbs.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Vernon Anderson; daughters, Judy (Kirk) Harris of Juneau, Alaska and Shelley (Robert) Frye of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; sons, Daniel of Columbus and Thomas of Lodi and two grandchildren.

Dr. Josephine Brown
BRANFORD, Conn. -- Dr. Josephine Hay Brown, 91, of Branford, Conn. and formerly Wooster, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002.
Services for the family will be Sept. 21 in Meyersdale, Pa.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Every Woman's House, 104 Spink St., Wooster 44691.
She was born May 18, 1911, in Meyersdale, Pa., to Edison M. Hay and Anna (Stuff) Hay and married Edward A. Brown. He died previously.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Ellen Brown Bogart and Nelson Bogart, 8 Ridge Road, Branford, Conn. 06405 and her granddaughter.

Maxine Hazel
DOVER -- Maxine R. Hazel, 92, of Dover, and formerly a resident of Dalton and Wooster, passed away Sept. 10, 2002, at Hennis Care Centre in Dover.
Born June 22, 1910, at Beloit (Mahoning County), she was the daughter of Bert Ross and Sadie Stanyard Gray.
Her husband, Charles F. "Chuck" Hazel died in 1983.
Survivors include daughter-in-law; five granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Fairbanks of Sebring; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m. at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, with the Rev. Richard Rose officiating. Interment will be in Dalton Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Theodore Mack
NAPLES, Fla. -- Theodore "Ted" Mack, 90, of Naples, Fla. and formerly of Lodi, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at Naples Community Hospital.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, with the Rev. Victor Myers officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Akron.
Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Masonic services will be Thursday at 8:45 p.m.
He was born Oct. 17, 1911, in Russia to Joseph and Julia (Baran) Mach.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Thomas of Naples, Fla.; son, Rodger Mack of Syracuse, N.Y.; three grandchildren; sisters, Wanda Nartonis, Helen Della Dora, Andeline Gross and Jenny Ovorus, all of Michigan and brothers, William Mach and Joseph Mach, both of Michigan.

Mary Semer
AKRON -- Mary C. Semer, 50, of Akron and formerly of Wooster, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, after a long illness.
She leaves behind three sisters and five brothers and many nieces and nephews, Susan Buss of Worchester, Mass., Ann (Ross) Murphy of White Cloud, Minn., Judy (James) Gillick of Akron, Charles Richard (Lois) Semer of Gainesville, Fla., George Craig (Marilyn) Semer of Pollock Pines, Calif., John Christolph (Melody) Semer of Hayfork, Calif., Mark (Becky) Semer of Midland, Mich. and Stephen (Veronica Lynn) Semer of Wooster.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Sebastian Parish, 476 Mull Ave., Akron, on Thursday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m.
Please make a donation in her name to Hospice Care Center, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron 44333.

Michael Shearer
MASSILLON -- Michael C. Shearer, 53, of Beaumont Avenue, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, at Aultman Hospital in Canton.
Graveside services of the cremains will be Monday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
Friends may call Thursday, Sept. 12, from 6-8 p.m. at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville.
He was born March 5, 1949, to Robert L. and Helen Ruth (Imhoff) Shearer and married Ann J. Pittenger on March 20, 1971. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son, Paul (Jessica) Shearer of Cleveland and a brother, Steve (Lisa) Shearer of Sterling.

Frederick Waggaman
LODI -- Frederick B. Waggaman, 75, of Lodi, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, at Medina General Hospital, following a long term illness.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, with Chaplain Jim Hostetler officiating. Burial will be at Litchfield Cemetery.
Friends may call today (Wednesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
He was born Jan. 12, 1927, in Wadsworth to Henry and Ina (Pete) Waggaman.
Surviving are his wife, Esther (Norris) Waggaman, to whom he was married for 54 years; sons, Varlie (Cindy) Waggaman of Wooster, Virgil (Pam) Waggaman of West Salem, Rocco and Rick Waggaman, both of Texas and Mark (Renee) Waggaman of Litchfield; daughters, Cheryl (Larry) Brannock of Canton and Lynda Waggaman of Lodi; 29 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

Linda Welsh
DOYLESTOWN -- Linda L. Welsh, 54, of Doylestown, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, at Barberton Hospital. She was a resident of Doylestown Health Care Center.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
Arrangements are being handled by Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville.
She was born Nov. 4, 1947, in Wooster to Donald E. and Reva (Tschiegg) Welsh.
She is survived by a brother, Dennis (Denice) Welsh of Akron; a sister, Christine (Tom) Davis of Fishers, Ind. and nieces and nephews.
