JEROMESVILLE -- Mary Ruth Black, 79, 1418 County Road 175, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 13, 2002, at her home after a brief illness.
Graveside services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Loudonville Cemetery with the Rev. Howard Burnett officiating. There will be no calling hours.
Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
She was born Dec. 21, 1922, in Marlington, W.Va., to Elbert and Icie (Sharp) Hannah.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Karen Wilfong of Jeromesville and Allen and Shelly Black of Perrysville; daughter and son-in-law, Jewel and Joe Brown of Grafton; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Dorothy Shafer of Loudonville.
Florence M. Kooker
SOUDERTON, Pa. -- Florence M. Kooker, 81, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at Souderton Mennonite Homes where she had lived since 1998.
She was the mother of Bruce M. (Sheryl) Kooker of Apple Creek.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rockhill Mennonite Church, 3100 Meetinghouse Road, Telford. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Souderton Mennonite Homes, 207 W. Summit St., Souderton, and Saturday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church.

She was born in Hilltown Township to Elmer F. and Martha (Delp) Mitman and married Abram A. Kooker. He died in 1996.
Surviving in addition to her son are another son, Harley M. (M. Kate) Kooker of Lancaster, Col., a daughter, Karen (Marvin) Landis of Trumbauersville, seven grandchildren, sisters, Dorothy (Joseph) Ruth of Telford and Ruth (Earl) Godshalk of Blooming Glen.
A son, Harold M. Kooker, died in 1973. A grandson and a sister, Margaret Souder, also died previously.
Eugene E. (Gene) Hodgson
NORTH LAWRENCE -- Eugene E. (Gene) Hodgson, 67, of North Lawrence died Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 13, 2002, following a five-year battle with cancer. He had been in Hospice care since Aug. 7 at his home.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home in Massillon with Dr. Mark A. Jacobs officiating. Burial will be at Newmans Creek Cemetery, located at Chapel of the Cross Church on Orrville Street in North Lawrence.
Friends may call today (Thursday) from 6-9 and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

He was born in North Lawrence on April 8, 1935, and was a 1935 graduate of Washington High School. He had been employed by Griscom Russell Co. and Union Drawn Steel until health problems forced him to take medical leave.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Glenna (Buskirk) Hodgson; sons Dale Robert Hodgson of Tecumseh, Mich., and David Brian Hodgson of Massillon; a daughter and son-in-law, Denise Lynn and Marlan Rossiter of Dalton; five grandchildren; and his mother, Catherine Hodgson of North Lawrence.
Robert L. Wenger
ORRVILLE -- Robert L. Wenger, 56, 1140 Sterling Ave., died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, at Akron General Medical Center following a period of declining health.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville with the Rev. Walter Jordan officiating. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday one hour prior to the services.

He was born in Massillon on March 9, 1946, to Carl D. and Ann (Audet) Wenger and was a 1965 graduate of Orrville High School. He had been employed as a machinist at Will-Burt Co. in Orrville for over 30 years.
He is survived by sons, Robert L. "Bobby" Wenger Jr., Kevin C. Wenger and Christopher Wenger, his mother, Ann Wenger, all of Orrville, and two grandchildren.
His father, Carl D. Wenger, died in 1974. His twin, Roberta Ann Moser, died in 1983.
Margaret 'Peggy' Slutz
WOOSTER -- Margaret "Peggy" Slutz, 64, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, at her home after a long illness.
Services will be held at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Fetterhoff officiating. Interment will follow in Apple Creek Cemetery.
Friends will be received Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.

Annette (Walter) Spencer of Canal Fulton, Peggy (Derrick) Van Emon of West Salem; two grandchildren, Ben and Garrett Traver; four step-grandchildren, Matthew,, Amanda, Melissa Spencer and Melannie McAleese; three step-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Sue Bowman of McHenry, Ill.
Her parents and stepson, Thomas Gene Slutz, died previously.
Beulah Horn
COLUMBUS -- Beulah E. Horn, 75, of Columbus and formerly of Wooster, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, of natural causes.
Family and friends gathering will be held at Blendon Woods Metro Park Shad Blow Area in Columbus on Friday from 5:30-10 p.m.
She was born July 17, 1927 in Barberton to Benjamin J. and Delphia (Grubb) Newkirk and married Thomas D. Horn. He died previously.
Surviving are children, Laraine Powell of Avera, Ga., Larry Horn of Ostrander, Steven Horn of Columbus; five grandchildren and brothers and sisters, Vesta Ginther of Brunswick, Nina Vincent of Holmesville, Lyman Newkirk of Indianapolis, Ind., Richard Newkirk of Wooster and Guy Newkirk.
Kenneth McCurdy
LOUDONVILLE -- Kenneth Howard McCurdy, 73, 635 State Route 95, died early Tuesday morning, Aug. 13, 2002, at his home after an extended illness.
Memorial services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Perrysville Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Burnett officiating.
There will be no visitation.

"Ronnie" (Enright) McCurdy, whom he married Dec. 16, 1961; five sons and their wives, Jim and Leah Sevilla of Owasso, Okla., Robert and Kathy Sevilla and John and Debbie Sevilla, all of Sonoma, Calif., Dave McCurdy of San Bruno, Calif. and Michael and Nancy Sevilla of Rohnert Park, Calif.; two daughters and their husbands, Linda and Bill Schepens of San Jose, Calif., and Sandie and Tom Scott of Newark, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Deloris Foster of Millersburg, and Elinor Au of Mansfield.
Millard Wilson
STERLING -- Millard S. "Pat" Wilson, 86, 9675 Yoder Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, at his home.

He was born June 7, 1916, in Reedsville to Samuel and Nancy (Smith) Wilson.
Surviving are sons, Robert (Lois) Wilson of Sterling and Roy (Karen) Wilson of Wadsworth; daughters, Jean Davis of Marshallville and Judy (Sam) Hilty of Rittman; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a sister, Virginia Cowdry of Reedsville.
His wife, Edith Wilson, died in 1994.
Dolores Zollars
WOOSTER -- Dolores Zollars, 73, of Wooster and formerly of Spring Mountain, died Monday morning, Aug. 12, 2002, at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home in Millersburg with the Rev. Dan Kirtlan officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Killbuck.

She was born Aug. 10, 1929, in Spring Mountain and was the daughter of Ralph and Lola (Smith) Didinger. On June 14, 1947, she married Marvin Zollars and he survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Marvin, are four children, David Zollars of Shreve, Deborah Kunkler of Wooster, Stephen Zollars of Wooster and Lorilei Strother of Glenmont; five grandchildren; two sisters, Vera Kanuckel of Warsaw and Linda Robbins of Defiance and two brothers, Larry Chubb of Seattle and Colin Chubb of Detroit, Mich.

Rolan Feller
ZOARVILLE -- Rolan D. Feller, 93, of Zoarville, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at Union Hospital, following a brief illness.
He was the father and father-in-law of Ellen and Glenn Waggy of Seville.

Carolyn Hill
WOOSTER -- Carolyn Jean Hill, 66, of Wooster, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, after a period of declining health.
It was her wish to be cremated.

She was born Oct. 13, 1935, in Creston to Leland and Iola (Belmer) Wright Sr.
