Helen Smucker
WADSWORTH -- Helen (Schwenk) Smucker, 86, of Wadsworth, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at Akron General Medical Center, after a brief illness.
She was born in Cleveland. She married Ira Smucker. He died previously.
Surviving are a son, Russell of Copley; daughter, Judy (Doug) Caldwell of Naples, Fla.; two grandchildren and a niece.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Hilliard & Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where the family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to service on Tuesday. The Rev. Jacqueline R. McMillen will officiate. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Clyde Fahrni
WEST LEBANON -- Clyde H. Fahrni, 83, of West Lebanon, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at Massillon Community Hospital, following a period of declining health.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton with the Rev. John Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Mount Eaton.
Friends may call Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born April 9, 1919, in Sugar Creek Township, Wayne County, to John and Bertha (Zediger) Fahrni and married Reva E. Stauffer on April 13, 1952. She died Sept. 29, 1989.
He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Fahrni of West Lebanon; a son, Kim (Donna) Fahrni of Wooster; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Leland (Anna) Stuck of North Lawrence; two brothers, Vic Fahrni of Navarre, and George Fahrni of Vicksburg, Mich.
James Griffith Sr.
WOOSTER -- James Edward Griffith Sr., 68, died on Aug. 7, 2002, after a brief illness.
He was born on Oct. 24, 1933, in Parrish, Alabama to Dudley and Sarah (Brown) Griffith. He married Olivia D. (Carter) Griffith in 1958. She survives.
Surviving are his wife, Olivia Griffith of the home; sister, Mayola Johnson of Steubenville; three sons, James E. Griffith Jr., Darren L. Griffith and Leon V. Griffith Sr. of Wooster; two daughters, Sylvia (Sylvester) Robinson of Canton and Joy Griffith of Wooster; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins.
Services will be entrusted to McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster 44691, on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Morgan Jr. officiating.
Friends may call Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Herbert Haerting
WOOSTER -- Herbert Haerting, 98, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at Smithville-Western Care Center in Wooster, after a short illness, during which care was provided by Hospice of Wayne County.
He was born Nov. 5, 1903, in Chemnitz, Germany.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Arlie Clifton Haerting; his daughter, Margaret Haerting Thomas of Wooster; a granddaughter and a brother and a sister, Rudi Haerting and Dorle Haerting Spaeth, both of Hamburg, Germany.
His first wife, Elfriede Egloff, died previously.
Wooster arrangements are being made by McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home prior to services being arranged by Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Ill. at the First Christian Church in that city on a date to be announced.
Harry Kimpel
WOOSTER -- Harry Cliff Kimpel, 78, of Wooster, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at his home.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ with the Revs. James W. Christensen and Glenn Royer officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Miller Kimpel, whom he married July 1, 1950; a son, Donald (Diane) Kimpel of Shreveport, La.; two grandchildren and sisters, Patsy Brookhart of California, Christine Maxa of Washington, D.C. and Maryann Pou of Sebring.
Janet Mason
COLUMBUS -- Janet L. Mason, 52, of Columbus and formerly of Mount Vernon and Wooster, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002.
She was born in Lodi.
Surviving are sons, Kevin Mason and Craig (Melissa) Mason and a sister, Julie (David) Collins.

Cheyanne McIntire
ORRVILLE -- Cheyanne Rae McIntire, infant daughter of Jennifer Lynn Beckwith and Ronald James McIntire, P.O. Box 434, Orrville, was born deceased on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, at Dunlap Memorial Hospital in Orrville.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville with the Rev. Darryle Moody officiating.

WOOSTER -- Philip H. Santangelo, 74, of Lincoln Street, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, at Barberton Citizens Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

He was born Jan. 8, 1928, in Wooster to John and Nunzia (Noletti) Santangelo. He married Pauline "Polly" Schwartz on Sept. 2, 1950. She died in 1998.
Surviving are sons, David (Juanita) of Wooster, Anthony of S.C.; four grandchildren; brother Leonard "Ike" (Betty) of Ashland; sisters Pauline Pasquariello and Catherine (Albert) Massaro, all of Wooster; and several nieces and nephews.
George Sedor
ORRVILLE -- George M. Sedor, 90, 123 Hall St., died Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 7, 2002, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville.
There will be no public services. A private family burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.

He was born April 10, 1912, in Binghamton, N.Y., to William and Mary Sedor and married Gertrude A. Petkash on Feb. 10, 1934 in Johnson City, N.Y. She died April 12, 2002.
Surviving are a daughter, Shirley (Ken) Staley of Wooster, seven grandchildren, Cheryl (Charles) Archer of Montverde, Fla., Steven (Melanie) Staley of Wheelersburg, Michael (Kim) Staley of Orrville, Phillip (Lou) Kimble and David Kimble of Wooster, and Mike and Bill Kimble of Dalton; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Sedor of Binghamton, N.Y. and many nieces and nephews.
Lloyd Shoup
DALTON -- Lloyd Shoup, 94, a resident of Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Dalton and formerly of the Winesburg and Mount Eaton areas, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, at Dunlap Memorial Hospital in Orrville, following a period of declining health.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Longenecker Mennonite Church with the Rev. Glenn Coblentz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton or one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
He was born Sept. 12, 1907, near Mount Eaton to Frank and Katie (Baumgartner) Shoup and married Alma Troyer on June 24, 1934. She died Aug. 7, 1980. He then married Jessie Lowe Massie. She died June 26, 1994.
He is survived by two daughters, Joy (Andrew) Keim of British Columbia, and Eunice (Homer) Anderson of Wadsworth; six sons, Vernon (Carolyn) Shoup of Apple Creek, Glen (Jean) Shoup of Wooster, Frank (Shirley) Shoup of Massillon, Dean (Mary) Shoup, John (Carmen) Shoup and Loren (Diane) Shoup, all of Dundee; 28 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clayton Shoup of Orrville.
Weldon Farver
WOOSTER -- Weldon C. Farver, 78, of Wooster, passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2002.
He was born Dec. 23, 1923, in Holmes County. Weldon is the son of George and Estella (Richards) Farver.
He is survived by daughters, Estella Mae (Richard) Herman of Millersburg and Rachel Denise Lynne (Warren) Strickland of Wooster; half-brothers Donald Uhl of Fredericksburg, Arlis Uhl of Euclid and Richard E. Uhl of Millersburg; half-sisters, Mildred Liles of Arkansas and Zelda Uhl of Apple Creek; five grandchildren; five great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
His wife, Mary (McNeely) Farver died on May 11, 1997.
A graveside memorial service at the chapel of Sherwood Memorial Gardens will be held Friday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Claude L. McComas officiating.
No visitation will be observed.

DALTON -- Lewis J. Weaver, 18, 5638 S. Mount Eaton Road, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, Aug. 6, 2002, in the emergency room of Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk.
Services will be Friday at 9 a.m. at the family home with Minister Roman R. Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Hershberger Cemetery in Paint Township, Wayne County.

He was born Feb. 24, 1984, in Massillon to John E. and Carrie (Miller) Weaver.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, John E. and Annie (Stutzman) Raber Weaver of Dalton, four sisters, Mandy, Mary and Amy Weaver, and Hannah Raber, all of the home; six brothers, David, Maynard and Gabriel Weaver, Daniel, Levi and Andrew Raber, all of the home and grandparents, Eli I. and Mary Miller of Apple Creek, Ervin and Esther Weaver of Dalton, and Levi and Ida Stutzman of Millersburg.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas West, whom she married April 23, 1965; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Tina West of Johnstown and David West of Jeromesville; two stepdaughters, Gale Andress and Connie Harmon, both of Ashland; two granddaughters; five step-grandchildren and a brother, William Cameron of Jeromesville.
Roy Frazier
WOOSTER -- Roy Lee Frazier, 71, 4079 Mechanicsburg Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Services will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at McIntire, Davis and Greene Funeral Home, Wooster, with the Rev. Robert Stryker officiating. Private family burial will be held.

He was born March 22, 1931, in Fort Gay, W.Va. to Owen and Vadie (Thompson) Frazier.
Surviving are his wife, Rosalie "Rosie" Ann (Lowe) Frazier, whom he married Sept. 28, 1991; children, Shirley Lee Schafrath of Columbus, Ronald Owen Frazier of Wooster, Gary Dean Frazier of Louisiana and Roy Eugene Frazier of California; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; brothers, Elmer Frazier of Louisa, Ky. and Menuard Frazier of Fort Gay, W.Va.; sisters, Juanita Cort of Anderson, Ind., Herma Bond of Roanoke, Va., Jessie Campbell of Ashland, Mavis Thompson of Vinton, Va., Mildred Stryker of Shreve and Pearline Britton of Louisa, Ky. and an aunt.
Edna Hamilton
WOOSTER -- Edna Mae Fordenwalt Rang Hamilton was born in Orrville to Ira and Edith (Benner) Fordenwalt on May 31, 1917.
Surviving are Dorothy Wellman of California, Lydia Barkey of Orrville, Gladys Power of Massillon and Eileen Parski of Michigan and many nieces and nephews.
She married Robert Rang Sr. He died in 1954. She then married Lawrence Hamilton. He died July 25, 2000.
Funeral services will be held at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville on Thursday, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. with burial following at East Chippewa Church of the Brethren.
Visitation will be one hour before the service on Thursday.
