ORRVILLE -- Harvey Geiser, 83, of Orrville, died Sunday evening, Jan. 6, 2002, at Brenn-Field Nursing Center in Orrville, following a period of declining health.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Fairlawn Mennonite Church with the Revs. Duane Detweiler and Ken Wengerd officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the church or one hour prior to services on Thursday.

He was born Aug. 8, 1918, near Apple Creek, to Frederick and Lena (Nussbaum) Geiser and married Esther Steiner on Nov. 21, 1940. She died Dec. 19, 1994.
He is survived by 14 children and their spouses; Vernon and Freda Geiser of Orrville, Vincent and Janet Geiser of Wooster, Gladys and Lloyd Nissley of Nappanee, Ind., Marcella Geiser of Orrville, Ruth and Galen Hershberger of Fredericksburg, Joyce and Wayne Miller of Orrville, Ida and Tom Yoder of Donnellson, Iowa, Ron and Bonnie Geiser of Orrville, Pauline and Gary Arnold of Elkhart, Ind., Freeman and Jennie Geiser of Orrville, Russell Geiser, Ellis Geiser and Harvey Geiser Jr., all of Orrville; Delvin and Cindy Geiser of Wooster; 25 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grand-children; a sister, Mrs. Clifford (Lena) Lehman of Apple Creek and a brother, George Geiser of Apple Creek.
Russell Moore
CANTON -- Russell D. Moore, 92, formerly of 1528 Mattie St. SE, died at Dunlap Memorial Hospital in Orrville on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, following three months of declining health.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Auble Funeral Home in Orrville with the Rev. Bill Seymour officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
Friends may call one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
He was born July 4, 1909, in New Philadelphia, to Clarence D. and Irma M. (Williams) Moore and married Freda McCartney on May 26, 1934. She died in 1979.
Surviving are a daughter, Patsy (Dwain) Sheffer of Louisville; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathryn (Lester) Wakefield of Orrville, Erma (John) Glovinsky of Marblehead and a brother, James (Ernestine) Moore of Aiken, S.C.
Juanita Bicksler
WADSWORTH -- Juanita Bicksler, 69, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at her residence, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Bicksler was born in Ashland, Ky.
Surviving are her husband, Elden, to whom she would have been married 50 years on Jan. 28; children Kay Welsh of Watertown, Minn., Paul and wife, Annie of Wadsworth, Terri Tighe and husband, Mark of Wadsworth, Garry and wife, Cathy of Bellville; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Pauline Thompson and husband, Dick of Wadsworth. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Reimer Road Baptist Church. Pastor Jim Newton and Pastor John T. Powell will officiate.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Hilliard & Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth and one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.

BARBERTON -- Jessie J. "Babe" Combs, 75, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at Akron General Medical Center in Akron.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hahn-Hostetler Funeral Home, 98-17th St. N.W. in Barberton with Pastor Robert P. Combs officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery.

She was born in Kenmore and had previously lived in Wooster.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, George W., sons, James P. Shanley of Barberton, Gerald "Pete" and wife, Amy Shanley of Pikeville, Ky.; daughters, Veronica "Jett" and husband, David Miller of Grand Rapids, Mich., Helen and husband, Don Messenger of Orrville; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leo (Barb) Chapman of Cuyahoga Falls, William (Eileen) Chapman of Big Prairie and a sister, Nancy Heaton of Barberton.
Delbert Petsch
WOOSTER -- Delbert A. Petsch, 68, of Wooster, died Monday morning, Jan. 7, 2002, at Wooster Community Hospital.
Memorial services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church in Wooster with the Rev. Evelyn Manzella officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends tonight (Tuesday) from 7-9 p.m. and following the service at the church.

Edna Douglas
DALTON -- Edna C. Douglas, 100, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Dalton Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Bob Ralston and Ralph G. Fogal officiating. Burial will be at Dalton Cemetery.

Edna C. Douglas was born Aug. 7, 1901, in the Dalton area to John and Emma (Hofstetter) Moser. She married Lee H. Douglas on June 23, 1923, he preceded her in death in 1957.
She is survived by daughter, Vivian (David) Smith of Virginia; sons, Harold (Hazeljean) Douglas of Dalton, John H. (Rose) Douglas of Texas; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Ralph VanLieu
HARTVILLE -- Ralph E. "Bud" VanLieu, 73, died at Akron General Hospital Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene; son, Kenneth (Teresa) Van Lieu of Akron; daughter, Sharon (Jon) Newman of Maryland; sons, William VanLieu of Hartville, Thomas (Shelia) VanLieu of Colorado, Mark (Pam) VanLieu of Uniontown, Scott VanLieu of Akron, and daughter, Norma (Marc) Anderson of Iowa; 11 grandchildren and brothers, James of Wooster and Ron of New York City.
A Memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Wooster (527 Beall Ave.)
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd. in Akron.

WOOSTER -- Herm H. Luke Jr., 58, 2627 Wilma Drive, entered into eternal rest on Jan. 7, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Wooster, with burial at St. Mary Cemetery.

He was born June 29, 1943, in Wooster to Herman H. and Dorothy I. (Kaylor) Luke. He married Sharon D. Kauffman on October 19, 1968. She survives.

Ward Farnsworth
WADSWORTH -- Ward H. Farnsworth, 91, of Wadsworth, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at his home.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Drive, Rittman, with Pastor Bill M. Powell officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Seville.

He was born May 24, 1910, in Wadsworth, to Frank and Elizabeth (Coolman) Farnsworth and married Lois G. Yoder on Nov. 24, 1938. She died on May 8, 2001.
Surviving are sons, Harold (Barbara) Farnsworth of Wadsworth, Myron "Butch" (Linda) Farnsworth of Cortland, Jim (Pam) Farnsworth and Charles "Rick" (Karen) Farnsworth, both of Wadsworth; a daughter, Eileen "Stub" Kovein of Wadsworth; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Douglas Mellinger
LA HABRA, Calif. -- Douglas D. Mellinger, 57, 1500 E. Stearn Ave., Apt. 2, and formerly of West Salem, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002, at Brea Community Hospital, Brea, Calif., following complications from diabetes.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. (Pacific Time) at the LA Church of Christ, 14451 Franklin Ave., Tustin, Calif.
He was born June 18, 1944, in Trail to Raymond D. and Bonnie I. (Lengacher) Mellinger and married B. Jean Smith in 1973. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Kimberly Mellinger, Tawny Mellinger and Kristin Mellinger of La Habra, Calif. and Deborah (Jim) Wilson of Columbus; a granddaughter; a sister Elaine (Roger) Reed of Wooster and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy Sass
WARSAW -- Nancy U. Sass, 63, of Warsaw and formerly of Wooster, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital in Coshocton.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

She was born Oct. 19, 1938, in Spring Mountain, to Raymond and Virginia L. (Uhlman) Burrell. She married Clarence R. Sass on Oct. 31, 1969. He died May 18, 1998.
Surviving are children John Martin Jr. of Nashville, Tenn. and Amy Jo Pearce of Hobart, Ind.; five grandchildren and a sister, Phoebe Kanuckel of Warsaw.
Jeremy Gravley
LAKEVILLE -- Jeremy T. Gravley, 26, of Lakeville, died Thursday evening, Jan. 3, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, Wooster, with Pastor Jamie Rickard officiating. Cremation will follow services and a private interment of the cremains will take place at the convenience of the family.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Thursday.
Jeremy was born June 16, 1975 in Massillon and moved from Wooster to Lakeville in 1999.
He is survived by father, George H. (JoAnn) Gravley of Malvern and mother, Mrs. Keith (Erma J.) Boyes of Interlachen, Fla.; four brothers, George H. (Lisa) Gravley of Garden Grove, Calif., R.J. (Tracee) Ward of Massillon, Jason Wycoff of Garden Grove, Calif., and Dominick (Sara) Wycoff of Alliance; a sister, Mrs. Ron (Amber) Snyder of Wooster and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Wanda Olmutz
SAGAMORE HILLS -- Wanda Maddy Snyder Olmutz, 91, of Sagamore Hills and formerly of Wooster, died Sunday afternoon, Jan. 6, 2002, after a short illness.
Mrs. Olmutz was born in Marion County, Iowa. She married Paul Olmutz. He died previously.
She is survived by daughter, Sandra (James) Laurenson of Sagamore Hills; stepdaughter, Laurie (John) Leach of Cape Coral, Fla.; two grandsons; a granddaughter; a stepgrandson and six great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to share in a celebration of the life of Wanda Olmutz on Saturday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at Canton Woman's Club, 822 Market Ave. N., Canton.
