Lois Tarantino-Eberhard
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Lois J. Tarantino-Eberhard, of Charlotte, N.C., and formerly of Wooster, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Carolinas Medical Mercy, Charlotte, N.C.
Private family services will be held.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 1229 Greenwood Cliff, Charlotte, N.C. 28204.
Carolina Funeral & Cremation Center in Charlotte, N.C., is handling arrangements.
She was born in Cleveland to George F. and Ruth M. (Poole) Wilhelm. Her first husband, John J. Tarantino, and her second husband, John G. "Jack" Eberhard, died previously.
Surviving are her children, Shirley Mudri of Brandon, Fla., Shelley Cahill of South Barrington, Ill., Thomas Tarantino of Fort Mill, S.C., Sherry Tarantino and Tracey Bench, both of Gaffney, S.C., Jacqueline Reed of Pelzer, S.C., Michon Spees of Newport, Tenn., Vernon Metzger of Longmont, Colo. and Richard Metzger of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a sister, Laverne Martincic of Ormond Beach, Fla.

Carrie Bretz
DUNEDIN, New Zealand -- Carrie Jo Bretz, 42, of Dunedin, New Zealand, formerly of Wooster, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Campbells Funeral Home in Mosgiel, N.Z., followed by private cremation.
She was born Nov. 22, 1959, in Sulfur, Okla., to Dale and Lillian Jo Stillwagner and married David Bretz in 1978. He survives.
Other survivors include children, Kami (Jason) McKnight, Jami (Mike) Lambie and Jennifer Bretz, all of New Zealand; five grandchildren; her father and stepmother, Dale and Barbara Stillwagner of Wooster; brothers, Bill (Doty) Stillwagner of Florida and Johnny (Nancy) Stillwagner of Wooster; and a stepbrother, John Middaugh of Wooster.

Buella Cihlar
DOYLESTOWN -- Buella V. Cihlar, 77, of Doylestown, died Friday, January 25, 2002, at her residence.
She was born June 3, 1924, in Barberton to Homer and Goldie (Workman) Bond. She married Henry Cihlar on March 23, 1944.
She is survived by husband, Henry Cihlar of Doylestown; children, Cherie (Tom) Parrish of Oberlin, Dan Cihlar of Akron, Melanie (Gene) Starkey of Doylestown, Mark Cihlar of Doylestown; six grandchildren; and a brother, Bill (Ruth) Bond of Marshallville.
There will be no calling hours. Private family services will be held.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 3000 Krebs Drive, Akron, 44319, or to Visiting Nurse Service/Hospice Center, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron 44333.

Franklin Pemberton
LODI -- Franklin J. Pemberton, 58, of Lodi died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Rittman Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, with the Rev. O.C. Lloyd officiating. Burial will be at Burbank Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to service on Monday.
He was born June 16, 1943, in St. Clairsville to Franklin Benjamin and Virginia (Capilingo) Pemberton.
Surviving are his wife, Clarice (Daniels) Pemberton; a son, John; a daughter, Jowanda; two grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Smith of West Salem, and a brother, Merle of Paducah, Ky.

David Kinsey
BALTIC -- David M. Kinsey, 67, formerly of Dover and a resident of Baltic Country Manor since Aug. 1999, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital in Coshocton, following surgery.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek, with the Rev. Richard D. Ostler officiating. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery in Sugarcreek.
Friends may call tonight (Sunday) from 6-8 at the funeral home.
He was born Nov. 15, 1934, in Sugarcreek to Clarence C. and Edith (Ridgeway) Kinsey.
Surviving are three brothers, Richard Kinsey of New Philadelphia, Dean Kinsey of Baltic and Dan (Kathy) Kinsey of Newcomerstown; and three sisters, Grace Ebert of Coshocton, Mrs. Virgil (Carol) Plants and Mrs. Carl (Shirley) Gilmore, both of Gnadenhutten.

Paul Oplinger
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Paul T. Oplinger, 83, of Cuyahoga Falls, died at his residence on Tuesday, January 22, 2002.
Mr. Oplinger was born Sept. 17, 1918, in West Lebanon to Thomas and Ruth (Youngman) Oplinger.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Janet (Hoffman) Oplinger; children, Jon T. (Jean) of Maine, Judith (Dennis) Hendershot of Cuyahoga Falls and Gordon (Gale) of Tallmadge; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. A private service will be conducted at a later date. Final resting place will be Union Cemetery in West Lebanon.
Memorials may be made to the Falls Cancer Club, P.O. Box 3244, Cuyahoga Falls 44223 or Hospice of Visiting Nurse, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron 44333 in his memory.
Arrangements were handled by Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, Cuyahoga Falls.

Warren Morr
ASHLAND -- Warren J. "Coze" Morr, 82, of Steele Avenue, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Brethren Care Village in Ashland after a long illness.
Born Jan. 8, 1920, in Sterling, he was the son of the late James E. and Mary (Schaad) Morr. His wife, Angela, died previously.
Surviving are a stepsister, Marie Clements of Ashland, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Heyl Funeral Home, 227 Broad St., Ashland, with Travis Irwin officiating. Interment will be at Maple Mound Cemetery in Creston.
Friends may visit with the family Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Council On Aging, 240 East 3rd St., Ashland 44805.

Elmer Lembright
DOVER -- Elmer R. Lembright, 93, 133 Glenview Ave., died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Country Club Retirement Center in Dover, after a long illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Dover with Dr. David Oliver officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery in Sugarcreek.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
The family suggests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Christian Businessman's Association.
Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is handling arrangements.
He was born Dec. 29, 1908, in Bucks Township near Baltic to William and Sarah (Huff) Lembright and married Virginia Robart. She died Dec. 12, 1993.
Surviving are a daughters Carol Groh of Mogadore and Dana (Leo) DeSpain of Lake Quivera, Kan.; a son, Wynn (Bonnie) Lembright of Upland, Ind.; and 12 grandchildren.

Geneva Slater
DOYLESTOWN -- Geneva (Murphy) Slater, 82, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2002.
She was born April 26, 1919, in Heidelburg, Ky.
She married James H. Slater on May 27, 1939, in Hartwell, Ga. He died previously.
She is survived by her children Samuel (Doris) Slater of Akron, Charlene (Stan I) Wolsky of Canal Fulton and Carol (David) Miller of Marshallville; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
At her request there will be no services. Cremation has taken place.
Arrangements were handled by Adams-Mason Funeral Home and Crematory, Akron.

Bruce Chaney
KILLBUCK -- Bruce E. Chaney, 70, of Killbuck, died Friday morning, Jan. 25, 2002, at Sunset View Nursing Home, Millersburg, after an extended illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home with Pastor Chick Chanay officiating. Burial will be at the Killbuck Cemetery with military rites being conducted by the Killbuck Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Friends may call Monday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home with Masonic services beginning at 8:30 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Wayne County, 2525-A Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.
He was born March 17, 1931, in Hardy Township, Holmes County, to Charles and Hilda (Brankel) Chaney.
Surviving are his former wife, Juanita Chaney of Millersburg; four daughters, Tana Fletcher of Wooster, Diana Miller of Millersburg, Barb Sheely of Killbuck and Pam Hipp of Millersburg; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Joyce West of Tiverton Center, Patricia Strouse of Millersburg and Nyoka Boley and Effie Sheldon, both of Killbuck; and two brothers, Terry and Rex Chaney, both of Killbuck.

Delmar Gilt
KILLBUCK -- Delmar "Ace" Gilt, 59, of Killbuck, died Friday evening, Jan. 25, 2002, at his home after a sudden illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home in Millersburg with Owen Floyd Henney officiating. Burial will be at Killbuck Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
He was born March 2, 1942, in Canton, to Harlan and Mabel (Plant) Gilt and married Deborah Urey on April 30, 1988. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his mother, Mabel Chaney of Millersburg; son, Travis Gilt of Millersburg; three stepdaughters, Tammy Urey, Patricia Ann Urey and Barbara Ann Urey, all of the home; two sisters, Nellie Louise Gilt of France and Donna Domanic of Millersburg; two stepsisters, Cindy Carillon and Gloria Chaney, both of Millersburg; a stepbrother, David Mark Chaney of Millersburg and several nieces and nephews.

Robert Harford
WOOSTER -- Robert D. Harford, 71, of Wooster and formerly of Holmes County, died Sunday afternoon, Jan. 27, 2002, at Wooster Community Hospital, following an apparent heart attack.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home in Millersburg.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, P.O. Box 182039 Dept. 013, Columbus 43218-2039.
He was born Feb. 18, 1930, in Millersburg, to Kenneth and Rella (Hanna) Harford and married Mary G. Hawkins on Oct. 22, 1949. She survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are five children and their spouses, Ronald and Linda Harford of Killbuck, Cindy Resecker and Don and Cathy Shank, all of Wooster, Steve and Renae Harford and Stan Harford, all of Stillwell; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Ford of Columbus and Eilleen Smail of Killbuck and a brother and his wife, Dennis and Beverly Harford of Killbuck.

Clyde Hershberger
CRESTON -- Clyde J. Hershberger, 80, 2178 E. Easton Road, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Akron General Medical Center.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Gillman Funeral Home in Rittman with the Revs. Dennis Woodruff and Lee Hance officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Seville.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born Aug. 22, 1921, in Wooster, to Blaine and Alice (Graf) Hershberger and married Pearl Robinson in 1950. She died in 1960. He then married Mary Radick in 1964 and she died in 1998.
Surviving are sons, Leroy Hershberger of Creston, John (Mary) Hershberger of Medina, and Donald (Judy) Hershberger of Rittman; a daughter, Norma Hershberger of Wadsworth; three grandsons; brothers, Harold (Tillie) Hershberger of Doylestown and Glenn (Sue) Hershberger of Wadsworth and a sister, Alice Irene Farner of Rittman.

Alta Gerber
DALTON -- Alta Gerber, 91, of Dalton and formerly of Wooster and Orrville, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Doctors Hospital in Massillon, following a period of declining health.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Kidron Mennonite Church with the Revs. Terry Shue and Herman Myers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church.
Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kidron Mennonite Church, P.O. Box 232, Kidron 44636.
She was born Dec. 22, 1910, near Dalton, to Joshua and Sarah (Zuercher) Gerber.
She is survived by five nieces and a nephew and cousins.

Lorna Dennis
SHREVE -- Lorna C. Dennis, 90, formerly of Porter Drive, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Heritage Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in New Pittsburg.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church with the Rev. Layton Broome officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Schlabach Funeral Home in Shreve.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Fairview United Methodist Church, c/o Donna Schwarzwalder, 10603 Schwarzwalder Road, Shreve 44676.
She was born March 21, 1911, near Shreve, to Ora and Lacey (Swain) Aber and married Earl B. Dennis on April 27, 1930. He died Aug. 26. 1993.
Surviving are three sons, Melvin (Joyce) Dennis of Massillon, Ronald (Leora) Dennis of Wooster and Kenneth (Jerri) Dennis of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Cliff Aber of Wooster.
