WOOSTER -- Grace Bell, 98, of Wooster, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at her residence.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster is handling arrangements.

She was born Sept. 10, 1903, in Scalp Level, Pa., to Ralph L. and Harriet (Searle) Watts and married Donald S. Bell. He died in 1974.
Surviving are children, Dr. Donald C. Bell of Southport, Conn. and Ellen (David) Westenbarger of Great Falls, Mont.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Jayne Yoder
WOOSTER -- Jayne Ruth Yoder, 90, formerly of Wellington, died Sunday afternoon, Jan. 27, 2002, at Smithville-Western Care Center, Wooster.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Rev. Ronald Boldman officiating. Burial will be at Wooster Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Tuesday) from 7-9 at the funeral home.
She was born Aug. 22, 1911, in Bruin, Pa., to John Wilson and Myrtle Mabel (Steele) Miller and married Virgil W. Yoder. He died in 1972.
There are no immediate survivors.
Ray Barker
WOOSTER -- Ray H. Barker, 71, formerly of High Street, and a resident of Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, died Saturday afternoon, Jan. 26, 2002, after a brief illness.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Ohio Veterans Home Chapel, 3416 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, with the Rev. Paul Birmingham officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Veterans Home Cemetery, Sandusky.
Friends may call one hour prior to services. Groff Funeral Home, Perkins Chapel, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.
He was born July 24, 1930, in Holmes County, to Roy R. and Anna M. (O'Leary) Barker Sr. and married Gaytha Rose Brinker. She died in 1991.
Surviving are daughters, Gail Pope of Colbert, Ga., Mildred Barker-Strait of Canton and Linda Daugherty of Columbus; five grandchildren; sisters, Alice Watkins of Morgantown, Ky., and Mary (Gary) Martin of Wooster; and brothers, Roy L. Barker Jr. of Wooster and John E. Barker of Big Prairie.
Bessie Byron
WOOSTER -- Bessie V. Byron, 83, formerly of Chicago, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Smithville-Western Care Center, Wooster.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Gresser Funeral Home in Orrville, with the Rev. Jim Nelson officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Orrville.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services.
She was born Nov. 25, 1918, in Estill Springs, Tenn., to Joe D. and Vee Etter (Armstrong) Tucker.
Surviving are children, Gary L. (Kathleen) Byron of Orrville and Shirley (Rod) Voelker of Springfield; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six sisters; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Lonnie Byron, died May 17, 1954. They were married July 6, 1935.
John Hamsher
DOVER -- John Henry Hamsher, 81, of Dover, died peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, with family by his side.
His wife, Edith, with whom he would have celebrated 56 years of marriage in two weeks, survives him, along with children, Karen (Paul) Townsend of Parkersburg, W.Va., Beverly Hamsher of Canton, Kevin Hamsher of Dover and Joel (Teri) Hamsher of Akron; grandchildren, Jennifer Townsend, Carla Hamsher, Kristin and Laura Weigand; sisters and brothers, Myron (Erma) Hamsher and Betty (Glen) Martin, both of Dalton, Reuben (Mabel) Hamsher, Tom (Norma) Hamsher, James (Esther) Hamsher and Robert Hamsher, all of Sugarcreek, Mary (Robert) Miller of Orrville and Edward (Margaret) Hamsher of Dover; and a sister-in-law, Katherine Hamsher of Orrville.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at First Moravian Church of Dover, 319 N. Walnut St. Burial will be at Dover Burial Park, where military graveside services will be held.

She was born Oct. 16, 1919, in Prattville, Ala., to Will and Astoria (Houser) Davis and married Arthur Jones Jr. in 1939. He died July 12, 2000.
Surviving are children, Arthur Jones and special friend, Pam Myer, Ruth (Eugene) Howard and Eve Jones, all of Orrville and Frank L. Jones Sr. and special friend, Gloria Brooks of Massillon; honorable stepchildren, Jim (Willie Mae) Brown and William (Ida Mae) Brown, both of Autaugaville, Ala., Ernest (Frances) Miller of Mesa, Ariz., Larry Sanders (Julie Curtis) and Gloria (Leon) Davis, both of Buffalo, N.Y.; 28 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Adell Davis and brother-in-law, Willie Walters, both of Orrville; step-brother-in-law, Bishop Ike Woods Sr. of Massillon; step-sisters-in-law, Rosa (Frank) Cowling of Wooster and Leanna (Frank) Hall of Montgomery, Ala.; a devoted cousin, Mary T. Leona Mitchell
WOOSTER -- Leona G. Mitchell, 77, 1039 Point of View Drive, died Monday evening, Jan. 28, 2002, at Regency Park Nursing Home in Orrville.
Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at McIntire, Davis & Greene Funeral Home in Wooster, with the Rev. Rufus Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

She was born April 13, 1924, in Washington Court House to Weaver and Gladys (Harris) Johns and married Ben E. Mitchell. He died in 1982.
Surviving are children, Douglas Mitchell of Wooster, Ben Mitchell Jr. of Centerville, Donald Mitchell of Hemet, Calif., and Kathryn Mitchell of Apple Creek; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brothers, Russell Johns of Washington Court House and Larry Johns of Wilmington, Calif.
Rev. J. Richard Coyle
NEW PHILADELPHIA -- The Rev. J. Richard Coyle, 71, 267 Grandview Ave., NW, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Union Hospital in Dover, after an extended illness.
He had served as interim pastor at Winesburg Zion United Church of Christ.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Ragersville Zion United Church of Christ, with the Revs. Edward Morrison and Davis Williams officiating. Burial will be at Ragersville Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight (Wednesday) from 5-8 at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Smith Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.

He was born May 26, 1930, in Johnstown, Pa., to Joseph B. and Ada (Wagner) Coyle and married Phyllis Kraft on Aug. 24, 1958. She survives.
Other survivors include children, Janice (Ulysses) Graves of Stonecreek, Lee Anne (Joe) Buechner of Tustin, Calif., and Jeffery Coyle of the home; two grandchildren.
A sister, Shirley Koontz, died previously.
Carol Buckmaster
PHOENIX -- Carol Mae (Rech) Buckmaster, 58, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002.
Services will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home in Doylestown, with Pastor Jerry Keller officiating. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Millersburg.
Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was born Feb. 2, 1943, in Doylestown to Carl and Margaret (Nedrow) Rech, and married Clarence Buckmaster. He survives.

Charles Schollenberger
HUDSON -- Charles Sundy Schollenberger, 79, of Hudson, formerly of Wooster, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at Sumner on Merriman Nursing Home in Akron.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Congregational Church of Hudson, 47 Aurora St., Hudson. Burial will be at Markillie Cemetery in Hudson.

He was born Aug. 8, 1922, on the campus of Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster, to Charles Jay and Anne (Sundy) Schollenberger. On Oct. 15, 1949, he married Katharine Rosanne Kennon. She survives.
Other survivors include sons, Charles D. (Jennifer) Schollenberger of Prairie Village, Kan., and David K. (Mel Ann) Schollenberger of Washington, D.C.; and two grandchildren.
Sharon Fross
CANTON -- Sharon K. Fross, 56, of Canton, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 30, 2002, at Aultman Hospital in Canton, after a courageous two-year battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease.
She was the sister-in-law of Ron (Glenna Morris) Fross of Wooster.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Church of the Lakes, United Methodist in Canton, with the Rev. Dr. Bryan George and Sharon's brother, Paul Davidson, officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
Friends may call Friday from 3-7 p.m. at Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home, 1803 N. Cleveland Ave., Canton, or one hour prior to the services at the church.

Other survivors include, a brother, Paul (Nancy) Davidson of North Canton, and their children, Jo Davidson and her husband, Tommy Manzi, Jennifer (Bob) Tenaglia, Barbara and Lisa Davidson; and her mother of Canton.
Robert Wheland
SPENCER -- Robert A. Wheland, 70, of Spencer, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Medina General Hospital, after a brief illness.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Spencer, with Pastor Myron Schevy officiating. Burial will be at Spencer Cemetery.

He was born July 5, 1931, in Cleveland to Howard and Margaret (Aten) Wheland and married Carole Murphy on Sept. 29, 1956. She died previously.
Surviving are children, Patricia Veverka of Lodi, Robert Wheland Jr. of Brunswick and Mark (Samantha) Wheland of West Salem; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Peggy Wheland of Creston.
Sylvia Lehman
WALNUT CREEK -- Sylvia Lehman, 86, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Walnut Creek, after a period of declining health. She was formerly of Mount Eaton and Apple Creek,
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Sonnenberg Mennonite Church, with the Rev. Mike Mast officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Sylvia Yoder
